Okay, we got Sir Adrian and Ander up front, I believe. Ander going to light a torch as well?
You enter the cave, stealth be damned. You weren't suited for it anyway. You all get fairly deep in when you hear a shriek from behind the wall!
Presmir Maurmeril 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Wrathmire 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Sir Adrian Fullbright 1d20 ⇒ 2
Ander Meliamne 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Uriah Lewis 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Senka/Itzal 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Bad guys 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Wrathmire and Uriah may act before anyone else, then I will continue.

Uriah Lewis |

"Oho boyos, prepare for glorious battle. " Uriah says, inspiring Adrian and casting Vicious Mockery Psychic: 1d4 ⇒ 3 DC13 wisdom save or disadvantage. Adrian has inspiration, +1d6 on anything in next turn.

If you look at the map, you heard the shriek from that little hole in the wall. You can see a goblin-shaped figure in there, but it has 3/4 cover.
Goblin 1 - 3 hp damage
The voice shrieks! "Stupid long-leggers!"

![]() |

That little hole right in front of you.
Wrathmire fires off two quick bolts!
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Hand Crossbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Sorry man, didn't want to choose for you in case this happened.
The two quarrels ricochet off the rocky walls, missing the goblin!
Bad guys 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Ceidith 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Presmir Maurmeril 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Goblin 1 took 3 hp and has disadvantage
EDIT:
The goblins behind the makeshift arrow slit rotate out shooting arrows! The first, still rattled by Uriah's stinging barbs, draws a bead on Ander and misses. The second fires at Sir Adrian, but it merely sticks in his mail.
You guys are up!

Senka/Itzal |

Presuming Itzal can see well enough to aim through the slit from way back where she is, she will fire at whatever target happens to be there. longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 81d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 Don't forget that I have the Sharpshooter feat, which lets me ignore anything less than total cover.
If she can't get a target through the arrow slit, she will move up until either she can get a target (and then she'll shoot) or she rounds the corner and finds a different target to shoot. She will also end her turn such that she's not directly in front of the arrow slit (or at least 15 feet back).

Uriah Lewis |

Uriah defends himself as best he can and says You there! Goblin! Throw down your weapon and surrender! Do you know who this is?!
Uriah is casting Vicious Mockery Psychic: 1d4 ⇒ 4 DC13 wisdom save or disadvantage.

Wrathmire |

Wrathmire scoots forward a bit and fires off a few more shots towards the goblins.
Hand Xbow Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Hand Xbow Damage 1: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hand Xbow Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Hand Xbow Damage 2: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Ander Meliamne |

Is it possible to squeeze through, or are we really talking an arrow-slit?
I'm curious too. If it is an arrow slit type of situation, I have an idea. >:D

![]() |

@Sir Adrian, on the map it looks like it is maybe a foot wide at most, so generally not a viable access point. The tunnel curves to the right and you can easily presume that it connects up with where they are.

Ander Meliamne |

The tunnel curves to the right and you can easily presume that it connects up with where they are.
Okay, that's probably a better idea than my cunning plan.
Ander follows Sir Adrian.

Goblin 1 took 3 hp
Sir Adrian rushes into the next room with Ander close behind! Ander notices a tripwire, but before he can warn Sir Adrian the paladin runs right through it! Rocks fall from the ceiling, but both warriors manage to dodge the falling debris! 2 hp damage for both Ander and Sir Adrian. The rocks stop falling, allowing the others to follow if they wish. With the falling rocks, there is also a clanging alarm that echoes through the cavern system!
Sir Adrian's Dex save: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Ander's Dex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Littered with ratty blankets and bedrolls, this next room has mall bones scattered across the floor. Lice-ridden furs decorate the walls. At first, it looks like a dead end, but Ander easily finds that the Eastern wall has an opening behind the hanging fur!
1d20 ⇒ 3
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Ander and Sir Adrian, you would like to use your Dash action to burst into the next room, or wait to tell the others to hurry into the room?

![]() |

I am assuming that Uriah is going to mock, then run into the room. As the one he can see now is the other one, he will target the untouched goblin.
The goblin hurls a stream of what you can only assume are expletives!
If the others want to attack before they move to cover, they may.

![]() |

The goblins cackle at Presmer's attempt to intimidate them.

Ander Meliamne |

Ander and Sir Adrian, you would like to use your Dash action to burst into the next room, or wait to tell the others to hurry into the room?
I'll go ahead and barge in, in an attempt to engage the goblins and take some heat while the party comes around.

![]() |

I think that Ander is thinking to avoid giving them time to mount a defense, though he does have an Action Surge.
EDIT: Or did you mean for yourself? The goblins already attacked for this round so you may enter the side room with ease (even popping off a couple of shots before you go.)

![]() |

As Ander rushes through the hanging furs, he enters a similar cavern as the one he left. Bedrolls and a few decrepit furnishings, where presumably, the goblins rest and relax when not out doing the terrible things that they do. Three cages line the Eastern wall, between two doors. Two of them contain a large wolf each, larger than any you've seen before. They snarl and snap in Ander's direction. From where he is, Ander cannot see the goblins that were taking shots at the others.

Wrathmire drops to a knee and draws a bead on the laughing goblin, then puts two bolts center mass! By the scream and reaction from the other goblin, you believe that one of them has died. Nodding in satisfaction, Wrathmire hurries around the corner.

Ceidith |

Is it my turn?
Ceidith palms a dagger and slinks forward, sticking to the walls. He reaches to tiny opening and, spying the goblins, throws the daggers one of them
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

@Ceidith, yessir. I run combat in blocks. Based on initiative, whoever goes before the goblins gets to attack, then the gobbos, then everyone. So post, when I say you guys can go, and I will attempt to put them in some semblance of order if it matters.
Ceidith misses his throw, the goblin almost hitting the dirt in his attempt to dodge the incoming missile!
If you have any movement left, you may take it.

Senka/Itzal |

Granted that a to-hit of 8 is almost certainly a miss, did you resolve my action, which I posted really early? If you did, I missed it. Here's my action again, so you don't have to go scrolling:
Presuming Itzal can see well enough to aim through the slit from way back where she is, she will fire at whatever target happens to be there. I did resolve it, but not the movement, as I wanted the area to clear out first. I will resolve more tomorrow morning.

Ander and Sir Adrian see a goblin scramble across the room and pull the pin out of one of the cages, and the huge wolf bursts out charging at the two of them! It snaps at Ander, but his armor protects him from the beast's jaws!
Just then, the door in front of Adrian and Ander gets thrown open and a goblin and a bigger, hairier goblin (bugbear) rush through and survey the scene! The sound of another door getting thrown open and a couple more goblins come into view.

Ander Meliamne |

Back to us, I presume? Guess I'd better deal with the giant wolf on my face.
Ander drops his torch and hacks wildly at the feral beast that tried to bite him.

EDIT: If somehow the wolf drops from the first hit, I'll move to the weakest-looking target I can safely get to and direct the second attack at them.

Uriah Lewis |

Uriah moves up and mocks the wolf! Hah! You call that a snout? Rubbish!
[ooc] Vicious Mockery Psychic: 1d4 ⇒ 2 DC13 wisdom save or disadvantage. [/dice]

Presmer Maurmeril |

Presmer sees the bugbear, then under his breath, whispers into his holy symbol By My Mystara's Grace them thrusts forward the holy symbol to the bugbear.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 256d10 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 2, 3, 7) = 21
Lol. This is particularly funny to me because bugbear have a reputation for killing at my RL adventure league table.

Senka/Itzal |

Itzal will move until either she runs out of movement or gets a clear shot at a hostile target. If she does see a target, she'll shoot: longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
