I know I've done this before, but I am a relatively experienced dm and have recently come into a lot of free time. Most non-weekends I am available, and I have a hankering to terrify a select few characters with a surprise.
A short horror campaign made in the vein of Silent Hill or Fatal frame.
There will be no other spoilers. Only crunch.
Characters will be made from a 20 pt buy.
Level 1 in any non-advanced class.
No races with darkvison will be allowed, though low-light is acceptable.
2 traits.
Players may have mundane gear worth up to 500 gp.
Players must be able to post at least twice a day.
I will accept only three or four characters,
Would anyone be interested? It's a first come, first serve.

Damn, no Investigator for a silent hill campaign! XD I've been looking for a good excuse to play one since ACG beta.
That being said, I grew up playing the Silent Hill / Fatal Frame series, so this hits the spot for me. I'm thinking Bard (Detective), Rogue, or Witch. I'm open to all 3 so if you have a preference just let me know. Alternatively, I can stat them all up, then just wait and see what the other players would like to run first.

Lurion Coravoss |

A few questions: 1) How in depth should I make any backgrounds. 2) Will we be using any of the optional Sanity rules floating around? 3) Can I play a character who is already crazy/has issues [such as having a split personality or a drinking problem] 4) Is there anything tying our players together or do we randomly meet at the start.
And finally, [if allowed] is anyone else intrested in having my character know theirs [ family member, rival, ex, childhood friend]?

The Elusive Trout |

Back stories that are well_written and thought out give me more to work with, so I welcome them. I would say I at least need to know origins and motivations for any given dude. I also recommend knowing one another beforehand, though it is not imperative.
I give boons for good role playing interpersonally anyway, so that is something to look into.
I will not use sanity rules simply, but they are something I have handy, just in case. I
Addictions are multiple personalities are fine, but either/or, please. You cannot choose both here.

I do have a character that might fit sitting idly in the databases.
Devana Ravendawn
N Female Human (Chelaxian) Evoker 1
(background info)
I am not so sure at the moment what rules I used to create the current incarnation, but it just might be point-buy 20.
EDIT: Yep, it is.

Note: The relatively high physical stats are part of the idea. I will roleplay the strength, for example, have her make daily workouts. She lives by the principle: Mens sana in corpore sano.

This is literally my FIRST look at doing something that isn't Pathfinder Society specific, for Pathfinder. I've played a few other pen and paper stuff so it's not like I'm completely new, haha.
I love PbP and I particularly love roleplaying, so I'd be very interested. Currently the only character I have is a level 3 Medium from the Occult Playtest, however I LOVE creating characters so I'm totally down for the challenge to make one that would fit this campaign.
If you want, I can even fit a specific role you may be looking for. I love writing and I like playing a wide range of personalities.
1. Let me know if you have room. 2. Let me know if you want a specific role/personality in your group. (Tank/Healer/Caster/Etc. or something like Intellectual/Stubborn/Etc) and if you don't have anything specific, I'll throw some ideas at you.

The Elusive Trout |

I still don't know who all is playing yet. I've officially okayed one completed character.
I don't think you'll need another caster, though.
Note: This will probably turn out to be a high-mortality game. And it is possible for one person to complete the adventure, leaving the others behind, so there should be a queue at any given time.

I have an old character that I retired in PFS before he even hit level 2.
Half-Elf Dervish Dancer.
He's half sea elf, found in the ocean by a group of pirates who went around disguised as a circus. They took him on board and raised him as one of their own, teaching him how to dance with a dwarven longhammer as well as use it in a battle while he dances. (Exotic Weapon Proficiency through the Half-Elf trait) He traveled to many different areas, performing as well as finding himself in lots of fights.
He has a pretty open background so he could fit into any scenario.

Go ahead and link him and we'll see. Failing that, I am recruiting for an open inn-style rp, anyway.

Okay here's my working Bard (Detective); Sir Edric Phantomheim.
I have a few things to run by/ mention to you ET:
1) I know hybrid classes are forbidden but can I still use feats from the ACG? If so I would like to use the Orator feat. This bard is actually going to be Int based with Cha as his secondary stat.
2) He's middle aged and applied his racial +2 to Int.
3) I picked Rich Parent's as a trait. This is not an effort to munchkin. The things achieved with it were:
A) Making my Masterwork Sword Cane Silver; planing on setting up lore for it as a family heirloom.
B) Grabbing a Magnifying Glass & a Medical Examiner's Kit (Treating as a heal kit, expect for examining & preforming autopsies on bodies).
C) 4 Rubies (50 gp each) plan on building lore with these into my character's background. Think minor curse that causes them to keep popping up even if he sells them, they are stolen, or he tries to get rid of them.
4) I have an interesting back story in mind for this character but I want to run it buy you first and if approved there are a few parts that should remain between us until you decide to use them. So is there an email I could send a write up to, or some other way you'd like me to send it?

You can pm it to me here. :@
I am interested, indeed.

Devana, I need you to transfer your character into your profile rather than just linking it. I am almost blind and the forum profile is easier on my eyes.
All right. I have done so.
I'll have to make a new calculation for the inventory. The character creation program I use keeps driving me mad when I try calculate inventory weight and value, but I hope that qualifies as minor details and the character is acceptable so far.
It's about 1 am where I am and I need to sleep, so, I'll get the rest done in nine hours.

Encumbrance isn't that big a deal compared to other things for me.

Oh, before I forget: Where will the adventure start and is there anything in particular we should be doing there or anyone we should be looking for? That would help me modify the ending of my story accordingly and simplify inventory selection. For example I have a "Book of Letters" for Varisia, which would probably not be very helpful outside of Varisia.

It will start with your character "dying", as it were, and waking up in this strange place.
A "Book of Letters" for Varisia would not be useful for you, but it will alter if you keep it.

I just sent you a private message ET via the Paizo profiles. Let me know what you think and based off of that I will make a full write up.

[occ] I would love to play. It would be my first play by post on the Paizo forum. I do facebook roleplay with my players from my Council of Thieves campaign I GM so I should learn the technicalities of PbP quickly. English is my secondary language but it should not be a problem in your campaign. Here is the quick version of the backstory of Roubris:
Roubris is a suave man living in Westcrown, Cheliax. He grew up on the streets yet as a man in his 30s, he no longer wears the shackles of that unfortunate childhood. In fact, he turned that situation to his advantage by getting on good terms with people living the low life, thieves and other criminals. Mostly a loner in his youth, he decided to go beyond the petty thefts and pickpocketing by joining a the ranks of a guild of thieves. He did climbed some of the ranks but not enough to lead his own group. The guild later collapsed when a failed coup from within occured. A lot of criminals perished yet Roubris was able to leave the building unnoticed when Red Mantis Assasins came to kill his boss and colleagues. He later joined a local branch of the Aspis Consortium and he is looking forward to acquire more riches while in this organization. He is now a Bronze Agent with a pretty good salary he still enjoys the simple pleasure of steaking someone's coin purse in the streets. [/ooc]
