Huzzah, I have a second chance!
Hello GM Birch, I saw your original recruitment thread a while back and was elated by your GM'ing style. I run games very similar, I love to incorporate my players background and choices into the story. It draws them in, makes the world seem more real, and makes for a better gaming experience IMHO.
However, by the time I discovered it originally, you were already wrapping things up so I didn't bother posting. And here I am, possibly having a second chance! I am fairly busy this week with tests and what-not, but I fully intend to create a character for you to review.
Ok some things you ask of me that I can answer right now:
1) I check the boards frequently and if things are moving I'll post several times. I have never played a game that has been too fast paced for me
2) The Alias I am posting with is a good character to review for my playing style (although I unintentionally made him extremely powerful. Magi are scary). He's currently in a Way of the Wicked Campaign that moves pretty quickly. He just got to a character turning point where his intelligent weapon took control of him for the first time to save his life from almost certain death
Please remind me if I forgot anything about me as a player that you want/need to know
Now I have a few questions:
1) I am a little confused about your standpoint on archetypes. What does "n.b" mean?
2) Now I know that you are searching for somebody rogue-ish. However, what party roles are actually covered and what are you lacking in? I can tell that you need a stealthy skill monkey, but do we need a face as well? Do we have 3 front-liners or only 1? How strong is our arcane casting and would a dip into sorcerer/wizard be a good idea? How much healing do we have? Essentially, what do the other party members function as? I know that we both like story/background/personality driven characters, but I want to make sure I'm doing my job as well
3) What time (year) is it?

This is a good page to look at. It starts a bit down and continues onto the next page. I got into a fight against somebody that I didn't know outclassed me, but the dice gods smiled upon me.

1) n.b. means nota bene. Sometimes I forget that my writing style can be formally English. It's a Latin term meaning 'note well.'. In more common terms it means that despite the previous sentence, you should take note of what follows. What I was trying to say was - I only take core classes but that you can be an archetype if you wish. So you aren't limited to rogue - you could be an acrobat for instance.
2) Our rogue never returned from a short break and the players commented as such. I asked if they wanted a replacement and if so, what type of character. They replied they wanted a rogue-ish party member. I'd say they lack a skills monkey - and someone who can disable traps, open doors etc. Feel free to check out the characters in the game thread for more background.
3) That's a really good question and I don't have an answer. The module doesn't say but I do know it is set before the time that Pathfinder games are typically run as the faith of Razmir is not yet outlawed in Tamran.

1) Perfect, thank you
2) I have checked out the characters and you have an idea for what I should make
3) Ok, well I am assuming it is sometime after Nirmathas became a free nation, but before the worship of Razmir was outlawed. That gives us a time range of 4655-4709 AR
Ok, how familiar with the history are you? I don't want to have a background deeply set in their history and you look at all the references having no idea what I'm saying

I'm not a history buff. For your benefit, it makes sense you have made the timings and references logical but for me, it is more about how the back-story flows than historical accuracy.
