"Me neither. What a lousy bum."

You grit through as gleaming a smile as you can manage. You'll be taking orders from this guy until further notice. The thought nearly gives you indigestion.
"Don't ya worry none about it. We'll get ya any relevant information from that meetin' ya could possibly want. Just give us a time and consider it done."

Might as well show you're both still competent before you completely hate this guy.

The Vinokian looks at Alan after he speaks for a few seconds, probably detecting the hostility against him from the both of you. "Good. You will be leaving at 03:00. Now get some rest or do whatever it is a gang member would do before a mission." He turns around and walks amongst the various screens being manned by useless lackeys. Look at that, he even goes and talks to some of those lackeys, getting updates on any information they've gathered. Maybe even a few hellos.

Inactive

Dave praises those lackeys for their sheer willpower in the face of such an a+~~!$!. Perhaps one day Dave himself will be able to keep up a nonchalant attitude and carry on a pleasant conversation with this guy while secretly thinking about how much better it'd be for him to get punched in the face. Either himself of The Vinokian. He wouldn't mind either way.

Dave turns toward Alan. "I take it we got rooms and such, Aceman?

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

"Seems to be the case. Not even the worst furnishin'. I'd say we aughta rest up, but seems like we had our fair share of sleepin'."

You lead the way to your room, brainstorming ideas for the upcoming job. "Feel like we may need to infiltrate the place as workers, maybe. Could do us better than hidin' in the AC vents or somethin'. May need a disguise or two, though. Think ya could sneak us into their locker room?"

Inactive

Dave follows along down the hallways, though he give's Alan a flat look. "I'm fairly sure I'm not gonna pass as a worker for the place. I could sneak us in just fine probably, but I wouldn't be able to get my disguise on. I could hang back, act as the emergency outty while you do your own thing if you wanted to go that route.

Male Human

Elsewhere, Flinch snaps awake, "Hm?" He managed to mutter as he jolted up, looking around. He has no clue how long he's been out, nor does he know why he was out for so damned long, he just knows that something feels off, he doesn't know what happened to him, but he knows something around here somewhere holds the answers he wants.

He chose to remain quiet, because in any case, it would be best if nobody knew he was awake, for his own sake. He could be in a bad situation for all he knows. He decides to check his person to see what he's currently equipped with.

When Flinch looks around he will find the quarters to be like a New York flat. It looks like any other apartment, really. When you look on your person you will find you have nothing on you except your clothes. Your guns are on the night table besides your bed, and your kevlar vest and machete are hanging on the wall by the computer.

Make a smarts roll, Flinch

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

You contemplate the idea while leaning on the wall next to your door. Several things would need to go sufficiently right just to get your cover, but you're sure you could bluff your way into any meeting room if need be.

"Seems like a sound call to me. I aughta ask around the base, see what kinda dirt we got on this joint. If I can get a good disguise goin' in, might make the difference. Ya got any idea what you're gonna do outside surveillance"

Inactive

Dave shrugs, taking a look around the hallway. He wonders which of the doors leads to his own room, but he'll investigate that soon enough.

"Keep my eye out for trouble, give ya any word if something big seems to be going on. Maybe play some jacks to pass the time, whatever. If you can think of anything else I could be doing 'sides standing by and keepin watch I'm all ears bossman."

Male Human

Flinch carefully walks over to his pistols, holstering them first before slipping on his vest and sheathing his machete, "All my things seem t' be here..." He mutters to himself quietly, before evaluating what he remembers.

Smarts: 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 4

Flinch successfully remembers that he is part of of the Omega Resistance. He was part of the Diamonds and barely survived their fate. You were reassigned with the others, but got separated before the reassignment took place.

Male Human

After taking the moment recollect what he knows, Flinch lets out a sigh of relief, he's somewhere safe, for the most part. And it doesn't sound like there's some sort of raid going on or anything, so he assumed the best for now, just to remain optimistic.

Flinch turns his attention the computer, he decides to check it out before leaving his room, walking slight over to the right towards it. On a different note, he feels like he's forgetting something, but shrugs it off for the immediate moment.

The computer is a brand new computer, but as soon as you begin using it a pop-up comes up and directs you to go to mission control.

Male Human

"Mission control, hm? Let's see..." Flinch investigates further, seeing if he can get directions to mission control, since he preferred to not get lost in the base like dumb guy.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

The plan rolls around your brain a bit. "May as well ask one of the crew tinman was talkin' to and see if they got any intel on this plant. Shift schedules, times for comin' and goin', stuff like that. I'll see what I can pick up."

You start heading back to the other room. With a crew and a cell like this, one of those eggheads is bound to have some information for you to pull off a convincing enough disguise and story.

Inactive

Dave waves Alan off as he goes leaving him to it, turning around to find his own room. He finds his a door over from Alan's, and wonders who has the one in between. But Dave dosn't think on it long after he walks inside to see what it's like. He gives a low whistle in clear approval.

It reminds him of the somewhat upperscale apartments of Nico's old building, where he used to live 'fore the city burned. Some nice soft couches over there, a wooden coffee table over here, some bookshelves off to the side. Fairly sweet digs all around. He can spot a door leading to what he suspects is the actual bedroom near the really nice widescreen tv, along with a very good selection of games.

"I take back what I was thinking earlier, maybe this guy aint so bad afterall. Can't even see a lightswitch, very thoughtful."

Flinch will find a handy map of the base next to the door, he will have remembered seeing it when he went to get his machete and vest. The map will be straightforward, and heading to mission control should not be a problem.

As for Alan, when gets back to mission control, you can see The Vinokian still inside, talking with a floating jet black sphere. The two of them are by a table, which is showing a projection of Star City. The Vinokian is zooming in to certain locations and moving about, putting in known V'Sori patrols. When it comes to the eggheads working the systems, they are still there as well, hard at work. You have a choice, talk to The Vinokian and the odd sphere, or talk to the eggheads. Something tells you, however, that The Vinokian would probably know the information you're looking for.

And then comes dave in his apartment quarters. He is correct in that there is no light switch, in fact there are no lights at all. The only lights within are where the wall meets both the ceiling and floor. Think of the lights on an airplane's aisle floor, just a tiny bit brighter so the room at least has some sort of low-light level, that way it is just a tad easier to see.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

You decide to swallow your pride and check on your new boss. Everybody seems to report findings to him, he may as well report them to you. Seems like a decent way to hold your own authority around here, in some small way.

"'Scuse me, Vinokian. Got a few questions about how this plant is set up before I head in. Do they have civilians workin' at the joint? Do said civilians commute, or do they house em in the facility? And do we got any clue on their company uniform? Me and the kid seem to think that infiltratin' em all disguised may prove the best way of goin' about this."

Male Human

"Huh, this shouldn't be too hard..." Flinch says to himself as he switches the computer off and turns to the door, immediately remember something "Ah, right! Right!" He says with a grin as he reaches into a pocket on his vest, pulling out a pair of sunglasses "Almost forgot about these for a second." As he puts them on, he proceeds to exit the room.

"Of course they have civilians working there, what else would be working there?" The Vinokian answers, without even looking. After a few more seconds of studying his map he turns back to you. "They commute, normally by train and then by foot. That, and I do not know their uniform, Mccgregor, look it up online. As for how you do it, that does not matter as long as it gets done. If you can manage to get a disguise, go ahead, just try not to draw attention to yourselves. Any more questions?"

When Flinch leaves his room he will find that it is a fairly basic looking place. Very metal-y and future looking-ish.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

You roll over your plan a bit, given your newfound knowledge. "Just curious on if we've got a tailor in this joint. If I gotta grab an employee into an alleyway that's one plan, but goin' in with materials from scratch is another."

As a strange looking, sunglasses clad fellow enters, your thoughts couldn't be further away from the mission. Your jaw is nearly limp. "Well I'll be, Flinch, where have they been keepin' ya!"

You embrace, rather awkwardly. For a moment, it's almost like old times.

Inactive

Dave looked around his apartment a bit longer after that, and was pleased to discover there were spare shades with a few copies of his King of Diamonds outfit in the dresser. Everything fits perfectly too, that's a little weird.

He changes into one of the suits, makes sure his hair is brushed and tidied up, before putting on his shades and taking a calm walk over to mission Control. All pretense of him being cool drops the moment he spots Flinch.

"Holy hell, you're alive!"

"Good. Your other friend finally woke up. I am surprised it took him so long considering his power." And with that he just simply turns away from the three of you, talking instead with the odd floating sphere that is wearing a helmet. You may try and listen in if you want as they are concentrating on the map, moving the projected city map to different areas and marking it up.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

"That's not really related to his power. He's just lazy a lotta the time." You keep an arm slung over Flinch's shoulder and grabbing Dave with the other hand. It's like some of your nights out on the town with the three of you together.

"How ya been, kid?" You give him a hearty pat on the chest.

Male Human

Flinch chuckles, flinching a bit at the pat to his chest, "Alan, it's been.. How long, now? I haven't seen you forever, man!" He says with a grin, "I've been doin' fine myself, how about yourself?"

Flinch glances at Dave "Well, I ain't exactly easy t' kill, you should know that by now!" He chuckles, patting Alan on the shoulder, "So, anyone but us still around, or is this it? I mean, I've been gone for so long that we've got a lot t' catch up on."

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

Like an arrow to the chest, he gets you off kilter. You swallow it back though, can't let down the bunch. "Nah, just us, I'm afraid. Anyways, though, we got an assignment here. Vinokian's got us on an infiltration mission. Ya in on this? Or am I gonna need to grab a jumpsuit to sneak into this joint in all by myself?"

You look back at your new boss. Shame you don't call the shots here. Not yet, at least. Back in the when you were the last say. Now you gotta stop and ask for permission. Not sure how you'll get used to that one. "That is, of course, if he ain't on any other matters ya might be runnin'."

Without even turning to face you he replies. "He goes with you. I will be going with you, just so you know. Though once we arrive at the staging area we will part ways. I have other things to deal with in the factory."

Inactive

Dave finds it a little awkward to be held in a group hug like this, but he suffers through it. Wouldn't do to upset his real boss any. He tilt's his head at what the Vinokian says. "You're heading with us there? What for, even?"

Male Human

Flinch quirks an eyebrow, glancing over at Dave, "On some sort of infiltration mission, I guess." Flinch explains, he hasn't really been on a mission in a while, so he supposed this would be a perfect time to get back in the saddle.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

You're not sure if you're so keen on this guy jumping in on what should be between you and your old crew. But not like you could really voice dissent.

"Great, we need some clothes and fake IDs. Anybody around here any good at forgery or are we gonna need to outsource that along with the jumpsuits? Worst case scenario, I could try and fast talk our way in, but I'd rather not use that for nothin' but a last ditch effort."

"My business at the factory is my business. I don't care if you hear that I've been captured. You complete your mission and get back to the rendevous point, is that understood? And since you will be entering the factory without me, I will take my leave while you plan. Meet me in the Vehicle bay when you are ready."

He gives the sphere a message in sign language before reaching his hands out towards his shield and spear. As if by magic, they appear in his hands. He then leaves the room.

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

You decide to ask around. One of the Vinokian's crew has to know about disguises and IDs. Better to be prepared with, in case some squidy pulls aside a resistance member. You be sure to flash your best smile as you ask around for the goods you think you'll need to infiltrate this facility.

Streetwise: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Wild Die: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Unfortunately the techies in the room don't know much about infiltration. The best they can do is give you an example picture of a uniform and an ID gotten from the internet.

Inactive

"If only I still had my old contacts, I could probably have gotten us some IDs made easy. Damn aliens. You guys have something we can use to pump out some fakes?"

"Uhh..... Let me think! I don't really know much of the base outside this room, that Vinokian guy is real big on secrets. I don't think I can make any fake ones to the grade needed for that place. If you could get your hands on some real I.D's, though, I could alter it!"

Parry: 7, Toughness: B:6 M: 8

Seems as though the little guys checks out. Bit of a pain in the ass, but you know what you signed up for and you're on the clock to do it. Time to make hay while the sun's still shining.

"That shouldn't be an issue. Dave, Flinch, let's see if we can do some pickpocketin'."

Male Human

Flinch glanced over at Alan, "I don' know if I'm very good at it, but hell, I can try to pickpocket some folks."

Inactive

"It'd be nice to get back in the sack of it all. I can probably nab us a few wallets if I try."
