Edlethron |

"Vic, I can see webs down there, but I don't know how far. It could be 100 feet or a thousand." Edlethron moves over to help his cousin to don his armor faster.
In Undercommon, Ed says to the room, "Ilythiiri, mən orada ağları görürəm, amma nə qədər uzaqda bilmirəm. 100 metr və ya min ola bilər. Bizim keşikçi hələ yanlış deyil. İndi nə deyirsiniz? Buradan atlaya bilərikmi? Yoxsa halatlara ehtiyacımız var?."

Victor "Vic" Lofliss |

Round 3, Sneak Att
Vic leans down the stairs and fires at the beast that swiped at Gael, then moves back away from the stairs.
I agree, let's jump when everyone gets up here.
Hand XBow Att: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Hand XBow Dam: 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 3 + (1) = 9

Khaz Dourblade |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Khaz grunts, walks over and throws the drow over the edge.
athletics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
assuming that worked. Is there a bonus if he takes the drow by surprise?
”Now we know.”

GM Infinity |

Drow Athletics: 1d20 ⇒ 9
"Bunjiro reliiiiiiiq!!!" he screams as he falls, translating roughly as "savage a$$++~&". You can see him get stuck in the webs below, luckily for him the spiders are distracted by juicier meal. His body puts some scale to the webs distance, 30-40 ft down. The cavern floor is still unknown.
Also, Khaz take inspiration for that true to character bold move.
Vic, sorry missed the bit where you said you don armor, that takes a minute for light armor, or 10 turns with initiative running. Might be best to just grab it and go but its your call I suppose.

Edlethron |

Round 3
Edlethron shakes his head at the dwarf and giggles when he sees the drow land. "It's safe. Everyone grab something useful and jump."
Ed grabs a coil of rope and ties a bag of spikes and building hammer to himself.

Cade Whistler |

Round 3
Assuming the Quaggoth are making an attempt to get the portcullis up.
"Anything good up there?" Cade asks those who have seen the stash.
Cade holds up his fingers and grunts a few strange words the air above his fingers waves as if by heat he shoves his hands forward toward the portcullis and a blast of fire shoots out toward the unfortunates on the other side. I think its the Quaggoth in front of Cade.
Burning Hands: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14 Dex Save 13 for 1/2
He then rushes up the ladder.
Do you roll the chance or do I.

Froog Nackle |

"You people are taking to long to put that armor on. Tie them to a rope so we can take what we need with us! One of you strong people with have to hold the bundle though." Froog then takes his own advice and starts threading rope through the arm holes in a couple chain shirts, then a couple studded leather armors, and if he has time, a couple shields.
that's probably more than he can do in a turn but he will do as much as he can for the whole turn.

GM Infinity |

Cade,Vic,Kriv, and Gael need a dexterity save DC 11 or take the effects of faerie fire.
Vic's bolt pinches the advancing quaggoth in the foot, causing it to roar madly...
Dex vs Cade 1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Dex vs Cade 2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
...giving a distraction for them to feel the full brunt of Cade's ejected fire. The quaggoths alight in agony at the plasma wave, the bars of the portcullis glow orange briefly.
Round 3:
Vic, Cade, Froog, Edlethron, Kriv, Gael <--UP
Enemy
Khaz

Gael Lloris |

Still hurting from the beast's claw, Gael holds his wound and winced. he had a good mind to blast the animal to bits but decided to stay alive. No way to avenge his mother by killing a quagoth; it was the drow he wanted to kill.
He carefully backs away not giving up his guarded stance and bolts to the armory.

action to disengage and then move
I think I read the map correctly and I should e in the armory but please adjust as necessary.

Kriv The Exile |

Kriv deciding it would be quicker to arm himself, bolts for the stairs up to the upper floor of the armoury and grabs the first two light swords he can see, before dashing down to the bottom of the stairs to guard the retreat.
"Time to go guys, get up those stairs, I'll cover yous.
Actions used, 30 movement, Action Dash

GM Infinity |

The other prisoners don't seem to take any chances and fall to the webs whenever they can, picking up whatever equipment the party leaves behind.
The quaggoth at the gate tries to burst the portcullis asunder with its massive muscles...
Str Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
...and while bent, the cold iron holds. The one just behind it takes a cue from the climber and likewise grabs onto the stalactite. The already climbing one inches closer to the window (though no one can really see it), it might have a claw inside the window very soon.
The drow at the other gate fires a parting shot at Kriv...
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
...but the bolt scatters off the dice on the table.
A bizarre, low hum seems to be rising from the south, probably just a drow siren of some sort.
Round 3:
Vic, Cade, Froog, Edlethron, Kriv, Gael
Enemy
Khaz <--UP

Edlethron |

Round 4
Seeing all the useful equipment in the hands of the escapees, a maniacal smile returns to Edlethron's face. "Time to go, Vic."
He grabs a lonely dagger and jumps from the window and dashes in the direction of the defenestrated drow presuming he knows where to go, in order to lead the troop.

Cade Whistler |

Cade grabs a dagger. "Seriously no clothes. Devients."
He then moves to the window and jumps hoping to join the others in the webs.

Kriv The Exile |

Gonna leave two actions here for Infinity to take depending on what happens just so I don't delay the group as a whole
1st if everyone has jumped out of the armoury including the allied npcs - Kriv Seeing his allies have made it "safely" out the window grabs whatever he can before getting to the window to jump, freezing momentarily due to the height, promptly leaps out while closing his eyes and praying to Bahamut for safety or to everyone else witnessing him, screaming in abject terror.
"Please Bahamut have mercy and grant me a safe landing!"
2nd action if their still allies in the building who have not made it out the window yet.. -Kriv seeing his fellow prisoners still in the room promptly starts herding them towards the window.
"Faster! Faster! The drow will be swarming this place any minute now!
Before following with the same result as above after everyone is out including the npcs.
Sorry didn't wanna delay yous while I sleep being different time zones and all, so its up to Infinity to pick the one most suitable to the situation.

GM Infinity |

The webs are after all quite sticky, yet effectively catch the party. To fall further to the unknown, but hoped for pool of water below, you will have to free yourselves. DC 12 str check, or hit AC 10 with slashing
As the last of you tumbles out the window and the quaggoth debate jumping down onto you...it happens.
A flight of demons.
The low humming becomes a horrible droning buzz echoing throughout the cavern, followed by an inhuman shrieking. Alarm horns sound out as 4 monstrously large, insect like demons chase 2 other gangly, feathered demons in flight. They swoop in and around assaulting each other savagely.
One of the vrock is thrown into the hanging tower, and the hollowed out stone crumbles with a *boom* sending pieces of the tower and armory and quaggoth falling down with you onto the webs, tearing it precariously in places. The bridges yet cling to pieces of the splintering stalactite, making pendulums that sway out and crash into the drow encampment.
Those with demon lore recognize them as chasme and vrock.

Khaz Dourblade |

Str: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
With a roar Khaz rips himself out of the webs, filled with a surge of adrenaline it was as if there was nothing holding him back. He could but laugh as he saw the destruction of the drow settlement.
A 20 for that? Couldn’t that have waited for Combat?

GM Infinity |

Khaz falls into the darkness...but there is a splash after a moment.
Khaz, the horribly satisfying scene fades out of your darkvision and for a moment you are surrounded by nothing but black in free fall. The pool is cutting with its icy coldness, and you quickly surface, seeing the shore easily within reach.

Gael Lloris |

With dagger and armor in hand, the half-elf followed the others down.
He bounced slightly on the webs that caught and started struggling to free himself. At last he ripped himself free and continued his fall following the dwarf.
---------------
STR check DC 12: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Froog Nackle |

Froog, surprised to find himself in free fall, lands on the web and is stuck fast. He immediately begins trying to cut himself free with the dagger he grabbed before being thrown from the armory.
dagger vs web: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Cade Whistler |

"Out of the frying pan . . . " Cade looks about worried about spiders. He sees the demonic display and immediately tries to free himself from the webs.
Str: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
Cade rips at the webs in a flurry he looks about as if surprised he is free and falls into the black.

Edlethron |

Ed could not believe the luck of the flight of demons. He chuckles like a madman and slashes at the webbing to continue his fall to the water below.
shortsword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
slashing damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
His blade cleanly parts the old webbing restarting his fall. Landing in the black water, he follows the bubbles to the surface. He swims toward the shore with others.
Athletics to swim: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Khaz Dourblade |

Khaz sputters as he comes up for air, his allies tumbling into the water all around him. He swims to shore, carrying as much of the recovered goods as possible.

Kriv The Exile |

Kriv seeing Froog struggling reachs out and slashs the strand he is on.
SS Att: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Seeing Froog strand give out Kriv glances at his with abject terror at whats about to happen before slashing out at it.
SS Att: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Which promptly gives to the blade sending Kriv in a freefall.
"ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!"

GM Infinity |

Ed slashes at the contraining webs but it just isn't quite enough...remaining stuck.
Kriv valiantly frees Froog but likewise remains in the webs for now...Can reroll for yourself next round, takes 7 dmg total to sunder them that way
GM: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Khaz: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Froog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Cade: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Gael: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Froog, down below you hear something slurping and sloshing around in the pool with you...a voice enters your mind "Flesh...for the faceless Lord!" doggy-paddling quickly you make it to shore but can just barely make out the form of some undulating mass close behind, resembling a giant ball of mucus.
Round 3 actions were used for freeing and falling, just for simplicity going to begin round 4 now with pool creature
Round 4:
All PCs <-- UP
Enemy
Kriv, Edlethron, and possibly Vic are still above out of sight in the webs. Rolling for other prisoners shortly...

Khaz Dourblade |

Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
”Bugger that!” The water soaked dwarf ran from the beach towards the mass in the water. Leaping at it he drove the short sword towards it. His comrades were still struggling, and he would let nobody say that Khaz Dourblade ran from a fight!
Rage and inspiration used!

Froog Nackle |
