Victor "Vic" Lofliss
Vic follows his cousin out into the darkness, but into some semblance of freedom.
Stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Khaz Dourblade
Seeing the elves go, Khaz scoffs. ”Nay dwarf fears to go where an elf goes. Comes on lass-“ to his fellow dwarf ”-freedom or death, with honor.”
Dwarven Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Cade Whistler
Cade chuckles at the absurdity of dwarves trying to hide. He looks to any remaining in the pens and asks in uncommon "Now's the time if your coming."
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
GM Infinity
Cade's rationale seem to resound with those who were reluctant, and they slowly pick up their tired selves. Buppido seems particularly interested "So, there are weapons up in the armory you think?"
Eldeth nods at Khaz' words "That be fine. I'll die with my spat in their eyes."
No one said so, but I'm going to assume you all ate before going. Who knows when your next meal will be.
The little squeak of the slave pen gate is muffled by the raging waterfall, and the party slinks out into Velkynvelve.
Jorlan immediately makes eye contact with you as you cross the bridge. He is speaking to 3 other guards with their backs to you. It looks like smooth sailing until Vic trips on a spider web strand, elbowing into Khaz' stomach who promptly *farts* loudly.
The drow guard turn sharply and start running toward you from the south, while from the north a quaggoth roars ferociously, rallying a group quickly closing the distance.
Still, the party has a good 50 ft head start and might yet make it to the upside-down guard tower.
Edlethron
”Go Vic. Lead them. I’ll take the rearguard with the dwarf. “. Edlethron stops and gets out of the way train of escapees.
He readies besides the dwarf to stop the guards.
Gael Lloris
Gael once more tries to call forth on his magic, to feel the power surge through him in anticipation of its release.
He looked at his surroundings, "Can you burn our bridges? Maybe cut the webs or something?"
--------------
Do spells work outside?
We are in Area 11 and going to Area 10, right? Where are the guards?
GM Infinity
No Cade, but nothing stopping you from trying now.
Topsy and Turvy quickly cartwheel into the guardhouse at the tip of the stalactite, working the wheel that closes the barred iron gate to the drow's advance. There is a second wheel that could bar the group from the quaggoth.
See map. Both entrances to the hanging guard tower have such barred portcullis.
One of the drow flips a strand of the silk bridge tightly around his thigh, leaning over acrobatically and firing with his crossbow...
Target: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
...but the bolt streams harmlessly into the deeper darkness of the cavern.
GM Infinity
Gael, correct you are going from 11 to 10 across the bridge. There is another, second, bridge connecting to 10 going to the southwest. The drow are crossing that bridge towards 10 roughly 50 ft away from the tower. The quaggoth are down the stairs to the north, also ~50 ft away.
No way of knowing if spells work outside besides trying.
Cade Whistler
Cade sees Topsy and Turvy's work and begins to close the other portcullis barring the Quaggoth.
I am assuming that neither portcullis will stop allies. Otherwise I will wait for allies to lower.
Froog Nackle
Froog scampers along with the others attempting to make it to the guard house before the portcullis closes. Once there ,assuming he has time, he attempts to call on Lathander to stop the pursuers.
attempt to cast sacred flame on the closest enemy drow
GM Infinity
Casting is normal here
Froog weaves together a violent vacuum, pulling down the radiance of Lathandar from the sky hundreds of miles above. At the last moment the blast surges forward, curving wildly out at the drow, streaking across the gap...
Dex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
...but the drow escapes Lathandar's wrath this time, perhaps saved by the twisted magic of the cavern.
We'll start init tracking here I guess, give me a sec to get a proper map etc together.
Kriv The Exile
Seeing Khaz and Edlethron suddenly stop behind him, Kriv growls in frustration before turning around and grabbing each by the shoulder and attempting to push them behind him, then in a loud thunderous roar.
"JUST RUN YOU DAMNED FOOLS, IF ANYONES SUITED TO STALLING ITS ME, SO GO GET ARMED AND RUN, I'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOUS"
I attempt to shove both Khaz and Eldethron further down the bridge towards to the armoury.
Sorry for the delay, Australian, also rolls for if they resist.I will assume its athletics from what I read for shove.
Khaz:Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Edlethron: Athletics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
If I see a chance were at least two enemies are are crossing the bridge I will attempt to breath my lightning breath on them, other wise Kriv is just backing slowly toward the armoury if he has managed to convince/shove Khaz and Eldethron.
Edit: Oops, sorry Infinity, must of missed your post by a minute when I checked my rolls XD

Gael Lloris
No way of knowing if spells work outside besides trying.
my last description was my attempt at trying. :)
Gael ducked under the drow bolt, not wanting to taste its poison again. Last time that happened, he was out for days it seemed.
He drew an arcane symbol in the air to draw power onto himself and released it in a dark bolt, roughly the size of a small pebble that sped towards the drow shooter.
He then continued to run towards the tower.

Gael, thats a crit! :) Roll another damage roll.
no confirmation, right?
extra damage: 1d10 ⇒ 8| GM Infinity |
You are not locked out yet, Cade will have it closed soon though, perhaps at the end of next round
The drow's head is torn clean off at the nape, dissapearing into the darkness behind. The body limply slumps off the bridge to the webs below, where it is quickly gathered and ravenously consumed by giant spiders.
Kriv The Exile
Sounds like a plan]
Kriv seeing the group of Quaggoth bounding up the tight stair case, Sees his opportunity rushs forward and with a thunderous crack, unleash's a breath of lightning!
Lightning Breath Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8
[ooc]Saving throw is 12 if successful just take half damage.
After unleashing his furry he steps back to were he was previously.

Q save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

A flash of light echoes throughout the chamber as the ancient fulmination of the blue streaks forth from Kriv's maw. It crackles across the quaggoth's white fur, sending it in all directions electrostatically. The middle one seems to choke as the lightning causes some convulsion its throat *gak gah*. Nevertheless, they keep coming.
Feel free to move your token where you want to go afterwards, if not I will make my assumptions ;)
Edlethron
With the dwarf and dragon fighting him to fight the bad guys, Edlethron takes the lead again and dashes to the armory.
Move and Dash to armory. Grab a shortsword or another weapon for his Use Object.
GM Infinity
Edlethron, you climb up the ladder to the armory, and yet again it seems Jorlan was being honest. You find...
6 chain shirts
6 suits of studded leather armor
6 shields
6 hand crossbows
20 cases of hand crossbow bolts, each case containing 20 bolts
6 shortswords and 10 daggers
6 bags of caltrops (20 caltrops per bag)
4 100-foot-long coils of silk rope
2 building hammers (not usable as weapons)
2 bags of iron spikes (10 spikes per bag)
One of the remaining drow rushes forward and attempts to lift the gate...
GM: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
...but his weak little elf muscles do little to move it.
The second fires into the guard's chamber with his crossbow through the gaps in the portcullis at Froog...
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
...but it skitters off the bars and flips into him feather-side-first harmlessly. He yells for help and retreats back down the bridge.
The quaggoth cluster around Kriv, slashing at him mercilessly...
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Multiattack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
...the followup swipe slashes the dragonflesh across the chest, spilling blood.

The other prisoners take their turns climbing the ladder to the armory, with roughly half making it up there so far.

Khaz Dourblade
Khaz looked over at the charging elves and their slave warriors and felt the urge to charge back rise in him. Seeing the dragon-kin stand so bravely shamed him. But he was unarmed...”A weapon n’ shield lad! I’ll be back to slaughter the lot!” Begrudginly he turned and “sprinted” for the armory.
If he can make it in he will grab a shortsword and shield.
GM Infinity
Sure Khaz, you'll have both at the beginning of your next turn.
Cade, you have the portcullis about halfway down. Topsy and Turvy closed theirs as Khaz ran by and are now breaking the chair legs apart for clubs.
Upstairs there is a single window of gooey purple glass large enough to fit everyone through, should that be the choice. You can't see anything below, just darkness past some thin webs.

Kriv seeing Khaz make it to safety, Disengages from the quaggoths before running for the armoury, Barely fitting under the half closed gate.
Out of breath Kriv leans against the wall while putting a hand over the gash on his chest to stem the blood-flow and catch his breath before shouting in a loud thunderous voice up to those in the upper floor.
"GRAB ME A SWORD OR TWO AND SOME ARMOURE IF THEY HAVE ANYTHING THAT COULD FIT ME!"

Round 2
Vic moves into the armory and dons studded leather armor. Afterwards he reaches for a Hand Crossbow and Shortsword.
Ed, do we use these ropes to repel to the floor?
Gael Lloris
Gael wanted to arm himself and put on some armor; he knew he would need them soon enough. But the magic coursing through his body again was invigorating.
He yelled, "Grab me a dagger and some studded leather. I'll try to slow down the drow."
With that, he once more summoned a dark, bubble which he quickly directed at the drow exploding on him.

Froog's delight at having Lathander answer his requests again is obvious to anyone looking at him. Grinning, he performs the same motions he did earlier to call down sacred fire but on the lead quaggoth this time.

He then climbs up to the armory to see if there is anything he can use.

Is there any armor sized for him to use? A chain shirt and shield preferably.
EDIT- Sacred Flame is just not working for me... Thanks Lathander

Gael's blast hunts down the retreating drow effectively, but he keeps on his feet. He appears to be trying to rally the others.
Dex vs Froog: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Water pours from the other drow's eyes as the little burst of light fires up his nostril "What the...what did you do to me, surfacer?"
Cade, up to you, if you want to close it all the way, yes. It's halfway down at the moment. Quaggoths are incoming now...
Will have enemy actions in a sec...
GM Infinity
The drow unable to open the gate holds his hand at Kriv and crushes his fingers in an arcane gesture "Isilme..."
Cade, Vic, Kriv, and Gael need a dexterity save DC 11 or take the effects of faerie fire.
One of the quaggoth makes it to the closing portcullis and swipes under with its claws at Gael...

...slashing into Gael's thighs brutally. The other quaggoth on the bridge huddles in behind the first, eager to get inside and tear everyone apart.
The 3rd quaggoth leaps off the bridge, his long claws on his four limbs digging into the stalactite solidly as he climbs up towards the second floor from the outside...

If all friendlies are inside I will finish closing it. I am confused where everyone is. The armory is over the room with the portcullis correct? or is it the room we are currently in. Question for once they are closed would they block a Burning Hands blast?
GM Infinity
Cade, the room you are in is just a little table and chairs with the 2 gate controls. The armory is above, and not shown on map. The ladder leading up there is the pink arrow. Burning hands would indeed work through the portcullis, its not a solid door. You can shoot through it with mundane weapons as well.

That was my take but I thought I would ask. So Khaz and the others on the margin are safely on my side of the portcullis in the "armory."
