GM Infinity |

Kriv struggles in the sticky sloppy mess, avoiding the teeth somehow but seemingly worse off than he started.
Don't forget Help action, someone could negate Kriv's disadvantage on the grapple escape
Gaels blackness bursts through the amorphous slime, leaving some permanently singed edges mixed up in the chaos.
40/58 hp, 12 AC for post narrative purposes
Ed, I think Vic had already climbed up there if you want to revise your action

Khaz Dourblade |

Khaz watched helplessly. Dwarves weren’t known for climbing, and he didn’t have any ranged weaponry. Thinking furiously, he went through years of combat experience. Then, in an effort to be helpful, he yelled...
”Kick it in the jibblies!”
He crossed his arms, and continued to watch. Feeling a bit better now that he had helped.

GM Infinity |

Dex vs Froog: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
As if reacting to the growing light the mimic's musculature curves with an odd viscosity, avoiding the radiant shaft.
edit:
Edlethron manages to slice away enough of the strands to drop the together forever mass of Kriv and mimic to the mossy floor below, with Vic falling shortly after.
Round 1:
Vic
Mimic
Edlethron, Kriv, Khaz, Froog, Gael, Cade <--UP

Cade Whistler |

Cade goes through the motions of casting and launches an orb of fird at the creature.
Spell Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Fire Orb Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 9

GM Infinity |

The mimic's form catches fire momentarily, splattering its flesh to quickly douse the flames.
31/58 hp, 12 AC
Round 2:
Vic <--UP
Mimic
Edlethron, Kriv, Khaz, Froog, Gael, Cade
Everyone is on the ground now, unless Ed chose to hang on up there. Kriv still ensnared by the sticky tentacle

Victor "Vic" Lofliss |

Round 2, Sneak Att
Vic lands deftly like a cat and immediately hacks into the amorphous shape engulfing Kriv with his shortsword.
Hang on Kriv, we are working on it.
SS Att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
SS Dam: 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 3 + (4) = 8

GM Infinity |

Vic and Khaz both fail to connect with the slippery shapechanger.

Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Dmg to Kriv: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 bludgeoning
The formless mass again pummels Kriv, holding him down and preparing to bite with its acidic teeth.
Round 2:
Vic
Mimic
Edlethron, Kriv, Khaz, Froog, Gael, Cade <--UP

Gael Lloris |

"Somebody get him out of there or there won't be much left!"
Gael conjured up another missile but quickly decided against it.
He gulped, grabbed a hold of the dragonborn's arm, and started pulling him out from under the mimic's grasp.

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 .......Well crap, rolled new since it didnt seem fair to take the next result on the list since a new modifier was added. XD
Kriv weakened by the bombardment from mimic is unable to pull himself free even with the valiant help from Gael, about to loose conciseness Kriv barely hangs on!
Second Wind!: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Dice I am begging you, your killing me here!
Quite literally!

Froog Nackle |

Seeing Kriv about to pass out, Froog runs over to him and casts a spell to shore up his resolve.
Movement to get to Kriv. Action to cast Cure Wounds
Cure: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
I wish I had thought about it before but Guidance would actually apply to your escape as it is a skill check and not an attack. But keeping you alive is good too right? I updated the map for Gael and my positions. I wasn't sure where Khaz would want to attack from so I left him where he was.

Kriv The Exile |

Receiving the blessing from Froog, Kriv visibly seems to be more energetic with a good portion of his burns healing before his very eyes.
"Thank you Froog, you have no idea how badly I needed that, now lets see if I can't get out of this cursed things grasp!"

Victor "Vic" Lofliss |

[ooc]Round 3, Sneak Att[/ooc0
Vic again hacks into the amorphous shape engulfing Kriv with his shortsword.
SS Att: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
SS Dam: 1d6 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + (4) = 10

Cade Whistler |

Round 2
The Gameplay shows Khaz attacking melee I assume. My guess looking at the map suggests that he is filling the square betwen Vic and Kriv diagonally up and to the left of the mimic? I am trying to figure my placement. I assuming there is a way for me to maneuver so that a Burning Hands hits the Mimic but not Kriv or other allies.
Cade shifts around as he is chanting and as he moves waves of heat distort the air above his hands. His thumbs come together and a wave of fire sweeps the mimic and the great mushroom next to it.
Burning Hands Dex Save DC 13: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3) = 8
This triggers a Wild Magic Surge!!! To get a use of "Tides of Chaos" back.
Wild Magic Surge Result no whammies no whammies: 1d100 ⇒ 74
73-74 A random creature within 60 feet of you becomes
poisoned for 1d4 hours.

GM Infinity |

Yep thanks, forgot some weren't moving their tokens. You can indeed get a clear blast.
Dex vs Cade: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
The flames engulf nearly all of the sloppy teeth and popping acid, releasing the stink of the damned in billowing pink fumes.
23/58 hp, 12 AC
Alphabetical: 1d8 ⇒ 4 -> Gael
Hours: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Gael, you feel a wave of energy surge through your being, weighing you down greatly. You turn your arm to look at your wrist and see a rainbow colored oil coursing through your veins! Disadvantage on attacks and ability checks for 2 hours
Vic's swing will hit after Ed's action

Edlethron |

Ed kicks and slashes with his shortsword to keep the momentum.
unarmed bonus: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

shortsword : 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
if hit Piercing damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

GM Infinity |

Among the wet and still slightly bubbling mimic corpse, you spot a real tiny silver treasure chest, opened already from the action. Inside:
An empty glass vial, of the type designed to resist acid
Shiny steel manacles, with key
A bar of soap wrapped in a pretty crepe paper
1 lb of cinnamon
Spell Component Pouch

Edlethron |

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 5 Go team Wood Elf
Edlethron salutes Vic when he kills the monster by touching their shortswords together. It looks like they've done that before to the others.
He looks around for the threat that Gael calls out and relaxes after when nothing presents itself.
"Have you ever baited a trap before?" The wood elf asks the dragonkin.

Cade Whistler |

Cade looks at Gael, he also looks about expecting some new threat. After it seems apparent they are out of danger Cade looks at Gael quizzically, "You okay you look sick. Bad mushrooms?"

Kriv The Exile |

Gasping a breath of relief, Kriv just collapse's on the ground.
"Thank you, I will be fine, just need a few moments to catch my breath"
Turning to Edlethron Kriv Nods his head.
"Plenty, have even set off a few traps for the purpose of luring the target out, but can't say I have ever had such a disastrous result as that before."

GM Infinity |

Going to move things along unless you'd like to short rest here.
You continue through the lush glowing mushrooms for a time (4 hours) before it begins to thin out, and the darkness begins to again take control. You pass a large quartz column stretching up out of sight, arcing over in perfect geometric angles.
Suddenly you hear the crisp playful "Bark bark!" of a small dog, followed by a hushed giggling coming from a cave nearby.
