(5e) D&D Adventure League (Inactive)

Hello all,

As WotC as said all material is legal for play everywhere I have decided to run some stuff on the boards. I may have to skip around a bit but I would like to start off running the current season's opener adventure. 3-01 Harried in Hillsfar.

All DnDAL legal stuff is open for play and you must have a passing familiarity of the rules.

Characters will be created using the Adventure League rules. Ideally I would like to start next monday.

Dotting for interest. Considering a dwarf fighter.

I wouldn't mind joining in on this too!

I would like to join as well, I should have a PC up and running soon enough. Where can I get the Adv League Rules? As you may know, I am very familiar and well-versed in 5E. Do we need to be a part of the League to play? In other words, can we participate - not for credit?

I'd be interested, probably either a Dwarf Cleric, or Tiefling Wizard

Quite happy to see which would be better for the "table".

Do we need anything special other than the AL Players Guide and a DCI number (which I will have to dig out from my MtG days).

I am thinking of a dual wielding Rogue Assassin or Monk

Very interested! My first Adventure League adventure just finished up, I now have a 5th level paladin :). I'm not sure which character, but maybe a martial or arcane ranged type? Looks like we have a rogue, so "covered" there. What is everyone thinking?

Still working on it. Definitely a shield Dwarf fighter, wielding a greataxe.

Drafted up a character, not 100% sure on the details.

Technically no you don't have to be part of adventure league to play though if you want to use this character at conventions you need the DCI number. I can get one for you if you need it.

Heavily Encumbered: Your speed drops by 20 feet and you have disadvantage on sbility checks, attack rolls, and saving throws that use Strength, Dexterity, or Constitution.

Thanks, I'll update my character sheet. I'll sell the items he doesn't need (they seem to come with the class/background).

Could I join? I've got an Elf Sniper (ok, rogue) at lvl3 ... It'd be nice not to have to wait until next year to level up again.

I can also build a fresh character if you'd rather everyone start at level 1. But it's not always a bad thing to have a slightly less squishy character around...

Ok, Kelend is up to date. I sold his starting gear that was weighing him down at half cost (I believe that is the AL way?). I also swapped his strength and intelligence scores.

Thorgrund as long as you can pick your weapon that's fine, if not you'll have to sell it for half and buy.

Darthrancor, somehow with a name like that I am not surprised at the choice of a warlock. If you need further help let us know.

Johnnycat93, I believe in my original post I said " you must have a passing familiarity of the rules" if you think you can manage this then I have no problem with a little hand holding. These adventures are more or less meant to be intro, low risk-low reward.

Alyksandrei you are more than welcome to submit a character. Unfortunately Harried in Hillsfar is only open to level 1 and 2 characters. So Ideally if you had a character laying around with 400XP, that is what you would want to play with.

Remember to look into those factions as well, you'll need the free rez's in the beginning.
The most I am able to take is 7, as that is adventure league table limit.

Fair enough. I'll look at putting something together, probably a Barbarian by the looks of it. Unless we need large backstories I should be done by tomorrow.

I've got an idea for a different character I was going to build anyway. This one is a knife-wielding healer-type. Still working on exactly which class(es). I'll post a build by the end of the weekend. With backstory.

I have to say I am shocked by the lack of submissions of my favorite classes. That's okay I'll put the GM xp to my bards and monks.

I tried to sign up to get the DCI, but the site will not let me for some reason. So, I will need one, if selected, whenever you get to your FLGS. Thanks.

Darn, so tempted to make a bard!!! I'll think about it, when are the characters locked? If I have time and like the builds, I might swap out with a bard instead. His name would be Clef Anders!

Here is my submission, Notheah Asealior, so far. Let me know if anything is wrong, looks out of place, uncertain or the like. I have yet to decide on spells and write out his back story but I should get them done tomorrow. The general idea for his back story is that he is the son of a minor noble who is adventuring in an attempt to gain his families approval and love.

How closely are we tracking mundane supplies? What about encumbrance? (Just some semi-random questions that occur to me as I'm building my character.)
