Kineticist blast material

Rules Questions

I'm looking for whatever resource or info on where the earth/Rock material comes from for a earth blast. Or any blast for that matter. My GM is new to the class and I need to supply the back up info for any rule or thing that is in this class but havnt found this info.

Lol he is looking to counter some of my toons abilities and thinks if there is no earth material within so many feet I'm screwed.
I have read one discussion that it is from the ethereal plane but no resource I can confirm this.

Thank you.

The only blast that requires an actual object is Telekinetic Blast. Otherwise you draw the matter directly from the elemental planes.
For an explicit example, see rare-metal infusion.

Ok good but if my gm wants more info what book or page can I show?

He can read through the whole kineticist page on the pfsrd. He won't find anything to support his belief that an earth kineticist needs to have earth around him. If his rule applied, the fire kineticist could never do anything unless the area just happened to be on fire. That would just be silly.

Its written all over the kinetecist, but not spelled out explicitly.

Show your GM the telekinetic blast power and then ask where in the other powers it indicates you need the element.

Or maybe ask your GM where you are supposed to draw 'cold' from for cold blasts, or magma for a magma composite blast, then ask them if they really think the class is supposed to be so limited that it cannot do anything.

If none of that changes your GMs mind, your only recourse is to play another class.

The answer is, literally, magic. Kineticists abilities are generally (Su) and (Sp), so they do it with magic.

Perfect. Thank you.

The only earth blast that needs material is deadly earth, since it turns the ground into an attack.

It does present some problems for a pure earth user. This is because deadly earth relies on the material on the ground. So in order to do a metal version, you need metal ground (probably an airship or something).

Likely, this was a balancing thing, since deadly earth can combine with grappling to effectively make scaling version of the spell black tentacles, which can then have its duration doubled for just a talent.

You can still do magma with deadly earth though (it assumes you just melt the ground, I guess). This still works for balance since it is half fire, and tons of things resist that. You get other nice AoE options if you go magma too from fire. But pure earth is less about that and more single target damage.
