Need GM advice

Iam trying Again in a new thread.

I Know, that the second darkness adventure path is old, but it is still one of my favorits.

I need some Gm Advice.
What did you do when your player's first meet Depora? Did you have them roll any knowledge skill regarding the fact that the Drow's only exsits in myth.

How did you create that epic moment, that there are drows in Golarion?

I actually had Depora fully hooded and masked when my party encountered her the first time. She also managed to escape the party so at the conclusion of the first adventure they were still under the impression she was an Elven renegade.

When they finally encountered Drow for the first time I allowed them some knowledge rolls to realise they were obviously related to Elves but they had no concept of how really....even the one Elf in the party had no idea what they truly were.

My players' character didn't really know what they were facing until 'Amargeddon Echo' and talking to Evianna. Depora escaped them on Devil's Elbow too, so she's still out there somewhere in my game.

What knowledge skill, did you have your players roll?

I was thinking a hard history or something like that..

I gave the Ranger a Know: Nature to be sure that these guys were clearly related to elves.

I did give the one Elf in the party a difficult Know: History roll to see if he remembered any old tales or legends regarding the drow...but he fluffed it pretty spectacularly.

I declared that it was like if one of us came face-to-face with a sasquatch whil walking in the woods. We all know what it is, but have dismissed biggfoot as legend for so long, that you'd probably freeze (asking yourself "Am I really seeing this?!?) if you saw one.
