Hi
I have started running Carrion Crown for a home group, we are a little bit through the first adventure, and it has been pointed out to me that I could technically report this campaign and my players get PFS xp etc for characters. Currently none of my players have active PFS characters but they are interested in the society. Would it be possible to start reporting their adventures even though that wasn't our original intention.
Also would they need to have current PFS characters or we it be OK to create them when season 6 starts? Is it also required that I report their playing after each installment or can I wait a little and do it in parts?
Any advice would be most appreciated.

You only need to make the choice whether to gain PFS credit for an AP played in campaign mode when you finish the first sanctioned part, because that's the time when you report it.
You are allowed to wait until season 6 to create the characters. What you'd do is assign the chronicles for Carrion Crown to their character #1
(This means they get their PFS #, then you apply the chronicles to character # XXX-1 (XXX being their number). The character needs to be created only when they actually play it. Until then, the chronicles are just assigned to a phantom.)
When playing an AP in campaign mode, you assign the chronicles and report the game whenever the party successfully completes the sanctioned part of the current book.
At that point, each player chooses a character to apply the chronicle to, or chooses to lower the gold in order to apply the chronicle to a newly created level 1 character immediately (as outlined in the Guide to Organized Play).
