Jude got his cut yesterday.

For me, it's also a case of enlightened self-interest. Since I'm usually the one who gives the boy his bath, it's easier for me to wash and dry his hair when it's super short.

Plus, I'm a firm believer in males having short hair. Always have been.

GAAAHH!!! Put some damned feathers on, at least.

Wernk.

Scarab Sages

Sometimes, I really miss my old gaming group.

Scarab Sages

Actually, more than sometimes.

Scarab Sages

Oof...baby girl is throwing a fit. That's what she gets for being awake nearly 4 hours....

Scarab Sages

Yet another reason I'm so happy we have an upstairs again.

Scarab Sages

And I saw an article that said Dawn of the Planet of the Apes pulled in over $70 million. Nice. I look forward to one day seeing it.

Scarab Sages

Of course, right after I post that, I see another article that says $65 million.

Scarab Sages

Lots of useful looking minis in this new Lost Coast set. I especially like the leucrotta and the small elementals. Broderk Quink and Lord Mayor Grobaras Look useful as well - scholar and aristocrat.

Scarab Sages

And congrats to Germany on their big win...whatever it was for.

Anzu

The Babylonian version of the Sumero-Akkadian Zu. He was the valet of Ellil, the supreme god. One day, when Ellil was bathing, Anzu stole the Tablets of Destiny and escaped to the desert. Whoever possessed those tablets was ruler of the universe. Ea persuaded the mother-goddess Belet-Ili to give birth to a divine hero who would be able to defeat Anzu. Belet-Ili brought forth Ninurta and sent him off into battle. After a long and terrible battle, Ninurta pierced Anzu's lung with an arrow, and recaptured the tablets.

Another Monday. How I hate them. Garfield was right.

Two different accidents on my road to work this morning.

The first one had a bunch of fire trucks and cop cars around. I think there was at least one ambulance.

The second accident occurred on an unlit section of the same road, and the two drivers were both out of their vehicles, moving around, with no lights whatsoever. Dumbasses. Lucky for them, as I passed I noticed someone walking towards the scene with a big flashlight.

Caught the original Species movie on TV last night. Awesome flick. I love one of the intro lines of Michael Madsen's character, when asked who he is and what he does:

"Preston Lennox, and if I'm here, the s%~~ has definitely hit the fan."

A little later he says "Nobody ever asked me to find something they didn't want dead."

Plus, it has Forest Whitaker - one of the most badass actors in Hollywood.

Scarab Sages

And, lest we forget, the screen debut of a very Nekkid Natasha Henstridge.

Mmmmm.....BttH.

Scarab Sages

Apparently, they made up to four Species movies. I've seen two and parts of three (mmmm....Sunny Mabrey), but not the 4th. This is probably a good thing.

Scarab Sages

Whelp. I guess it's time to do....stuff.

I got a wolliped!!!

Scarab Sages

Yeah, I've got two of those things.

Scarab Sages

Coffee - check.
Leftover Biscuits - check.
Daily vitamin - check.
Facebook checked - check.
Paizo posts - in progress.

Scarab Sages

It's amazing how easily a routine comes along.

Too many meetings yesterday. Hopefully today will be better.

Two of them ran extra long, and two more were surprises. Ugh.

Scarab Sages

I like phone conferences better. The folks on the other end of the line can't see that I'm doing anything other than paying attention to them.

Mine grabbed me just two minutes before I would have left for lunch, and lasted an hour and a half. I was starving by the time we got out.

But at least I had some good news yesterday - boss came in and said that since I've now been here over a year, and have been doing a good job, I get a raise.

Woohoo! Just enough to finally push me over the 100K mark.

I sat in a meeting for 3 hours yesterday that was cleverly disguised as a b*#$% session.

Silver Crusade

Every subject that was brought up, the answer was "well that's kind of a grey area"

Silver Crusade

50 shades of gray...Now I know

Thankfully ours was more productive >_>

Mine are always a mix of productivity and more questions, with a healthy dose of whiny old farts who think the project would fall apart if they weren't around.

Scarab Sages

Now, if you'll excuse me....I'm off to another 3+ hour meeting.

Scarab Sages

Memories light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories of the way we were
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were

Scarab Sages

Mrgh. Why have I been feeling so slightly crappy the last few mornings? Maybe I need more sleep.

Scarab Sages

At least it's Wednesday. Just a few more days until the weekend. And, sweet Lordy pie! I currently have no meetings scheduled for the rest of the week.

Scarab Sages

I noticed the other day that Osirion will be the theme for the next Wayfinder. So I started looking up Osirion-related info in the Inner Sea World Guide and Osirion source book.

Not feeling it yet.

Seems kind of pointless, since they did just come out with a source book, and the current AP is set there. Already tons of info being put out, just not a lot of details.

Not to mention, one of my favorite parts is making maps, but what's the point if they're just going to get someone else to redo it?

Scarab Sages

Harrumph! In a pissy mood. Must cheer myself up.

Scarab Sages

That's better.

Scarab Sages

Noticed they made Thor a chick. I don't mind a chick picking up the hammer and wielding the power of Thor. I think Storm did it back in the day. But, g*&$#*n it, don't call her Thor. Thor is a dude. Call her something else. She's only "wielding the power of Thor", if I remember the inscription on Mjölnir correctly.

Scarab Sages

Incidently, Storm wielding the power of Thor is pretty hot.

Scarab Sages

D&D 5th Edition? Neat. But I hardly have time (or a group) to game Pathfinder with. So, yeah, won't even bother with it.

Hell, when they finally move on to a new edition of Pathfinder I'll probably stop collecting game material all together. What would be the point?

Scarab Sages

See, here I go making myself grouchy again. But this is at least a little cathartic.

Scarab Sages

At least there's coffee.

Scarab Sages

And I've got my kids. They're (nearly) always enjoyable.

The other day, the boy told his mommy he needed to take his Snoopy (a stuffed-animal Beagle my mother-in-law gave him) to get his nails clipped. So he asked for the car keys.
