Maps as JPEG Downloads?

Website Feedback

What are the chances of getting those lovely people at Paizo to make their maps available as JPEG downloads?

I am fairly new to Pathfinder (having just moved from AD&D2e) and, because we are all old and have moved around the country, mostly play RPGs together over Roll20.

I know the adventures are available as PDFs, but you still get image degradation if you screen capture maps and handouts for use.

If I could get hold of original JPEGs for Ries Of The Runelords I think it would make my players experience that little bit better.

Do you have Photoshop? You can easily open a PDF in Photoshop and the save as a .jpg

You can select the images in most PDF readers and copy those you want into any image software. This gives you a much higher pixel resolution in most cases.

You can also use software like SomePDF image extract to rip ALL the images out of a pdf (including background images and borders).

Works in GIMP too, which is free rather than the expense of Photoshop.

Also most VTT programs will accept .png files as well, which tend to be better quality than .jpg

coldvictim, I wanted the very same thing. Specifically for the Kingmaker campaign I am playing in - a digital map to add notes to. That didn't happen. On the flip side though, I now have a colored pencil map of our duchy on the KM hex paper that I am quite proud of.

You can just extract the images directly from the pdfs. I don't know if Acrobat Reader can do this, but most (all?) non-Adobe pdf readers can.
