You want to make a level 1 character? Do you know roughly what you want to build or are you a virgin to Pathfinder and Golarion in general?
First come up with a character concept.
ie
'I want to play a Healer Cleric'
'I want to play a strong fighter with a big Axe'
This is really what you need to do first.
Now.. get a copy of the Guide to Organised play. Do you have a Pathfinder number yet? If not you need to register right now. Open up a second window of the Pathfinder Society button you will see to your left up the top. Follow the process to get a number. Later on you will want to register a character.
Now using the core rulebook and the Guide to Organised Play (Which Im guessing you either own already or should (basically its mandatory to have these on you whenever you play) If you dont have either of these you need to get them pronto.
Character creation uses a point buy system for the 6 stats. I generally dont ever have an 18 in a stat ( 16 is about my limit) Assign the stats on what sorta class you have picked out. Dont forget race.
Basically follow the list as it is presented in the guide to organsied play and you shouldnt have any problems.
