He would show and wreak havoc on that persons life...but the rest of us would be safe from him for a little bit. It would be a noble sacrifice.

Alright, before I start asking questions, I am going to make sure I don't accidentally offend john, because my social abilities are terrible.

what is your favorite animal?

What happens if you were playing an antipaladin and the GM made you fall because you happened to encounter a small horde of puppies (treat as a swarm) that forced you to make a reflex save or be overwhelmed and snuggled. This is a good act, cause your antipaladin to lose everything.

It is hard to offend me.

Wolves.

Probably not return to the game politely leaving the game. It is a little TOO silly.

Do you realize that is not completely correct?

1.62 is an approximation of the Golden Mean.

I don't think any of them are 'worst'...they are all useful in support to character concept.

snickersimba wrote:

Some people consider him very extreme.

No I did not know that. That is very cool of you....well unless of course you are putting in highly addictive drugs in them so you'll enslave them...still cool but evil. ;)

Interesting Question:

What would be the best Sorcerer bloodline for an Ifrit?

Fire or Efreeti would be obvious, but the energy resistance they gain at 3rd level overwrites the racial bonus.

You could go with unexpected and go with Boreal(cold) explaining it as coming from the other side of the family. No one will see it coming.

*party of a hobgoblin, duergar, kolbold, wyveran and drow walk into a local bar, theres a female pirate with her back turned to the party and a foot on a gold inlaid treasure chest*

Kolbold: GEMS! GOLD! TREASURE! *begins fawning over it and drooling, wringing his hands*

Duergar: Heh, wonder if the beer is as good as the women in this town.

Wyveran:Food!

Hobgoblin: urgh....All I want is a nice bed and a warm meal, and something to shut these idiots up.

*the drow, being a very distracted person, walks in, pulls off his tinted glasses and drops his jaw*

Drow: DAYUM! LOOK AT DAT BOOTY! *is staring at both the pirate and the treasure chest*

Hobgoblin:easy sonny, don't you go getting raunchy with them humans, they breed like vermin. Last thing you want is kids.

Funny story. But can't you at least pretend to add a question...

Liberty's Edge

Does that deserve a question mark, though?"

Someone should start a thread for Quotes from my game. But I don't mind people sharing them here...

Liberty's Edge

Well, I would, but I am more interested in making friends in the society.
Because I have no nerd friends outside of the internet and spend most of my time at home looking at the forums.

Also would you like a link to a youtube video of a baby wolf with hiccups?

I have some red velvet cupcakes for valentines day, I was handing them out to the females at my school, there are a few left, would you like some?

Yes I would like that link.

No that is Okay...I don't think you should ship them to me.

So any other questions? I mean is this thing on? Hello?

No it is impossible to watch too much of America's Funniest Home Videos.

Anymore question?

Also where is my link of the wolf cub hiccups, Mr Snickersimba?

Cool! An ask anything thread.. you sure you're ready for my onslaught of newbie questions? BTW, I like you already, since you have a "pet" :) I'll have to ask Emperor Floyd some questions later ;)

1.. Being a fellow NJerseyan, do you attend the Double Exposure events in Morristown? This just past Dreamation was what launched me into this completely strange, crazy, and intriqueing world of gaming (thanks to my brother- an old D&D player evolved into a current card/board game player)?

So, I am playing PFSociety to start, so I do have the Guide to Organized Play, but I also have the pdf of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook. I spent my lunch time today poring over the book trying to find out more about the character I just created, a 1st Level Half-Elf Druid.. I found it fascinating reading, but it brought up several questions:

How do bonus language options work? (Chapter 3, pg 50) When can one apply those bonus options, and what is the "cost"? If, as a Druid, I want to acquire the Sylvan language, how would I go about doing that?

What is a domain and how does it contribute to gaming?
Chapter 3, pg 50 says Druids bond with nature, via 2 options; the first one is that it grants a cleric domain? What does that mean?

In the book, what do the parenthesis after various titles stand for, ie, "Nature Sense (Ex), "Wild Shape (Su)"?

I like BOTH of the nature bond options- is there a way I can (eventually) acquire "both" of these options?

If these questions are just too simple, and I can relatively easily find them somewhere, feel free to direct me :) The book index has NOT helped me so far...

Thanks!!

I don't go to Cons though I want to go to Paziocon and gencon at least once. I have heard of the one in Morristown though and I think I have friends who do go. Maybe I'll go to the next.

1: Bonus Languages: Everybody starts with a number of languages based on your int mod. So if your int is a 14 for instance you would start with 2 bonus languages. So as a half-elf druid you start with Common, Elven and Druidic after which you can select a number(limited by your your int mod) of languages of your choice based on your race and since you are playing a druid Sylvan is one of your options. (pages 16-17 for rules of how int relates to your number of bonus languages; Page 24 in the Half-Elf racial traits the last line in the language section tells you what your starting language is and which one you can select as your bonus languages, and page 101-102 has a list of languages you can select though they are probably more you can pick from that are Golarion specific). Also for each rank you put into the Linguistic skill you learn an additional language.

2)Domain: Domain are something that clerics. They are usually 2 special abilities called Domain powers and bonus spells. They are used to so that a cleric of say a war god is different than a cleric of a god of sun. Druid can get a domain as a option which means you select one listed (Air, Animal Earth, Fire, Plant, Water, or Weather) and you get the Domain powers and a bonus spell slot that you can only use for the Domain spells. You find the Domains under the Cleric class on pages 41 to 48.

3) Those are what type the ability is. (Ex) stands for Extraordinary, (Su) is Supernatural, and (Sp) is Spell-Like Ability. There are some general rules that govern these on Page 221 under the heading Special Abilities.

4) There is no way that I know of for a druid to get both. I was thinking their might be a feat...but I'll have to do some research.

Anyway I hope the above is clear and does not confuse you more. Indexes are not very helpful till you get really used to the book. I know the game can seem intimidating to newbies...but once you get it it becomes rather easy.

I would also recommend you pick up the new book Pazio just came out with this month called PFRPG Strategy Guide which is a very useful tool for newbies. Though hopefully this does not put me out of a job as mentor. ;)

And His Resplendent Emperor Floyd would love to answer any questions.

All i can say is you're awesome! You gave clear, concise Answers and referred me where i can find more info! You should get bonus points for teaching now I'm so excited... hubbyband i are trying to lay low this weekend due to cold that wont let go, and i think much of my awake time will be studying and writing more questions for the awesome guru john

Thanks for great follow up!

Dawn

Ps. Maelstrom is on april 10-12. You should look it up!dexposure2.com. seems to me you would love a whole weekend of gaming ☺ btw, how many characters do you have and how do you keep track of them all(i imagine you have many!)?

Well I love RPGs in general and I think Pathfinder is one of the best ones out there. Though I like many others out there as well. I get a joy seeing new people discover the wonders of RPGs. But I realize ,looking at my bookshelf filled with gaming books, that it can be intimidating to new players so I like to provide a helping hand.

Yes I have a ton characters...and currently a lot of active games. How do I keep track of them all? I created them so each one has a part of me or is a reflection of me. So just briefly looking over a paragraph description brings the character up to the surface rather quickly.

Ask any question you want...I don't mind sharing.

Scarab Sages

How much can you change of a pre-generated character? I played my very first PFS game with Ezren the Wizard, and since I may be playing a PBP with my first created character, I thought maybe I'd just change up Ezren's character sheet a bit and keep using that one for tabletop - at least until I have time to create another character.

Can I change gender, name and age without causing issues with points and such? If not, is there a way to re-balance points while keeping the same PFS character number? I created a character alias for that pre-gen online here, and would like to keep it as #1, but I want to make those changes....

Bottom line is I want to keep the "-1" number but make the character associated to it a bit of a better fit for my tastes.

That you would have to ask over at the PFS section. As I said I don't play PFS so I have no clue. Logically I don't think it should be a problem but...logic at time is subjective.

Just some happiness in my life. Not that my life is full of sadness...it is just meh.

When I figure that out you will be the first to know.

I'll like take a break from the regular question and highly recommend people read the PF Tales: Pirate's Honor and Pirate's Promise. Both are really great books.

Why do people keep going on about chocolate and vanilla being some kind of diametric opposites you have to choose between when they're: a) not, b) both delicious), and c) complement each other perfectly well?

I have no idea. It is silly. It is like how some people love cats and hate dogs or vice-a-versa. You can like both.

Lies. Evil lies.

lucky7 wrote:

Could you phase that in a form of a question...and can you be more specific?

Liberty's Edge

How evil are the lies saying you can like both, on a scale from 10 to 11? (Ten being the highest)

lucky7 wrote:

Um...it is not a lie...it is the truth. Now rather it is a evil truth is up to debate. I don't believe it is evil though.

Also is it about dog and Cats or chocolate and vanilla or both?

Liberty's Edge

Chocolate and Vanilla. Cats and Dogs are both awesome.
