When am I permitted to use all the space provided?
It is a thread where everyone has played nice, and the civility is sweet enough to make one's teeth hurt. Many attract attention by being inflammatory, I did so by using atypical labelling mechanisms to lure others to my thread (my attention whore-dom knows no bounds), since I am ill equipped to attract mates via my expansive plumage.

We've pretty much always edited thread titles for length, spelling, grammar, spoilers, etc. In this case it had literally zero to do with the content of the thread and everything to do with how much visual space the thread title took in sidebars, etc.
We did have a brief discussion internally before shortening that thread title. If it were a book jacket it'd probably have been split into two parts ("A Fuzzy Friendly Rant" and the rest) and designed so one part was more dominant visually on the spine and cover. We don't have that sort of thing in place for the messageboards so we do what we can with the tools we have.
I've been meaning to adjust the limits so thread titles are required to be shorter but there might be cases where Paizo staff might need to create a thread with a longer title for some reason, so the code would have some special case limitations in it. Which means additional testing and more moving parts to break. So we've just never gotten around to it. In practice I really don't think this has been a big problem.
