Membership Restrictions: Dwarf or Dwarf-friend
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Multiple Guild Memberships: Members are allowed to have characters in other guilds so long as there is no blatant conflict of interest.
Griefing: Griefing as defined by GW will not be tolerated within the guild. Furthermore we will not establish any ties with an organization that promotes this play style.
The Deepforge Company is a community of dwarves based in the River Kingdoms. Its members come from many backgrounds but all have banded together for mutual protection and profit. The Company also provides the displaced dwarves of the region a sense of cultural identity.
The dwarves remain independent of any nation or faction. They do however trade freely with the petty kingdoms and city states. Dwarf made crafts command a high price in the markets of the River Kingdoms. Many fortunes have been spent on arms and armor made by the stout folk for use in the territorial struggles that are a part of daily life. Any army which can afford the protection of dwarf wrought fortifications rests well knowing they are safe from any direct assault.

I've replaced your prior "Dwarven Chartered Company" listing in the Guild Recruitment & Helpful Links list. If you have a brief description you'd like to appear there to let people know about your guild while they're browsing that list, just PM me or post a clear request here.
I like the name :)

After watching the latest dev video I am very excited to see that mountains will likely be a part of the map for EE or OE. With luck the mountainous area we got a glimpse of is Loric Fells. An area complete with mineral wealth dangerous monsters and a fallen dwarf settlement for us to retake.
My thoughts exactly. Looks like a particularly wild and dangerous part of the map, but mineral rich geological potential. It would be interesting if any settlement sites are on particularly defensible heights too?

I am not trying to pee on anyone's forge here. Do keep this in mind:
The elevations are very likely to change. Designing the whole world is a very tricky process, and I'll probably do another full pass before more areas are detailed out. It is over-magnified in height diversity to make the world more interesting. I am spending a lot of time talking to the Paizo team about striking a balance between the previously defined aspects of Pathfinder world and having a fun and interesting world to physically explore in the virtual world. Forested rolling hills sound awesome until you physically have to run through them for days on end with no changes. We'll probably end up striking a balance between the normal MMO world of constant micro-environment changes and the boring nature of 'realistic' environments. We want it to be believable, not far off of any existing descriptions of specific places, but also interesting from moment to moment for the players. The waterlines are far from anything I'm really developing at the moment, so they will almost certainly change completely.
I would love for some mountains, hills, scary ravines, etc... I hope that they do end up "exaggerating" the terrain, a little, from the established lore. :)

I haven't counted the exact number of Monster encounter hexes/locations (not the escalation hexes, but the named locations) but I'll estimate it at 20ish. Add in a hundred or more monster escalation hexes/locations an we begin getting a good variety of encounter sites. If you include what I hope are wilderness encounters as well we adventurers should stay plenty busy fighting for our lives.

For any relative newcomers, Deepforge Company is still recruiting new members.
The Deepforge Company is a band of Dwarves (and Dwarf friends) focused on becoming the most skilled crafters of metal and stone in the River Kingdoms (although other crafting professions will be represented). We fully expect other organizations to seek out our craftsmanship in forging items of iron, steel and mithril, as well as building the walls of many a fortress. Many organizations are performing diplomatic missions in order to contact all of the expected participants prior to the "Great Migration" to the River Kingdoms, which should begin sometime next year.
To apply please complete an application at Deepforge Company .

For anyone who has come along to lurk or post in the last month or so, Deepforge Company is gathering Dwarves and Dwarf friends for our move to the River Kingdoms. It is expected we will, under the leadership of Gorim Goldhammer, choose a settlement affiliation after the first of the year. If you want to join up, please do so. We expect 30 to 50 members by the end of Early Enrollment, possibly more.
Our long term goal is the founding of a Dwarven settlement, even a citadel as the River Kingdoms becomes more populated. Our main focus will be crafting iron and stone, but will also have harvesting and transport guard as well as additional harvesters and crafters to provide our other needs. Come join us!

Avena!
You would be more than welcome and I am sure Master Goldhammer feels the same way. Ryan has said we "Dwarves are inordinately popular" (I agree) and he would be "quite surprised if there was not a massive Dwarven* settlement" in the future of PFO.
*(Dwarf, Dwarven, Dwarvish, take your pick)
I believe it was once said if you want a proper settlement, you build down, not up. I wonder if that would be possible... probably not at launch, but a true dwarven kingdom hex(es) to rival Mithril Hall or Moria.

Welcome Rudar! You've got a fine sturdy name if ever I heard one. It is good to see more of our stout kin finding their way to the Company. When you are ready be sure to head to Deepforge Company and submit an application.
I agree completely Areks. I would love if in the future we could find a way to make a settlement that connects with the Dark lands or we could build down into them. I see something like this coming about a few years down the line but I am hopeful!

Bumping to remind everyone that the Deepforge Company is committed to bringing the strength and values of Dwarvenkind to the Riverlands.
Any non-evil Dwarves interested in joining an all-dwarf company focused on exploration, stonework, metalwork and creating a dwarven home are encouraged to contact a Deepforge member.

Just to clarify the Deepforge Company does accept non dwarf members. These members would be what we consider "Dwarf Friends" All that is required is for the potential member to have a strong appreciation of dwarven values and culture. Also a simple in character reason for your alignment with dwarves would prove helpful. Gnomes obsessed with crafting, industrious halflings and honor bound human warriors are all welcome.

Banesama wrote:I seem to remember in Disc World there was a 7' tall human that was raised by dwarves and thought he was a dwarf. :PBumped his head a lot, I would imagine! :)
No, he didn´t, and Carrot(that is his name) was a good lad; but there came a time when his foster parents had to send him out into the world to meed other humans... you probably guessed it, it was the time he began to "notice" the girls around... or maybe they started "noticing" him, i don´t remember which one;)

With the second Landrush coming up, now is the time for all Dwarves and Dwarf-friends to step up and make sure PFO has its own dwarven stronghold!
We need your support to make the dwarven realm a reality.
Contact Lord of Elder Days, Hardin Steele, or visit our guildlaunch page at deepforgecompany.guildlaunch.com
If you've been thinking about a Dwarven alt, or waiting for the right time to join us, don't wait any longer!

I bring greetings from the Keepers of the Circle. As I understand it, several of our members have already had separate discussions, but I wanted to post a formal welcome to visit our new website (http://keepersofthecircle.guildlaunch.com/). We have a Chancery established for discussions with other guilds when necessary and Deepforge Company's original post has been moved to start your own Chancery entry. We look forward to continued trade and mutual support.
Squaring the Circle,
Erian El'ranelen, Guardian of Gold

The Deepforge guild is going quite well and we are gathering many members for the settlement of Forgeholm. The more Dwarves we have, the more mining, crafting, and brewing we can do. Hopefully Dwarves will get something like the bonus that D&D Dwarves get for crafting with stone and metals.

The other members of the Roseblood Accord look forward to working with Forgeholm and the Deepforge Company as soon as possible.

All of us that became late backers have now been able to apply in support of our Dwarven settlement of Forgeholm. If anyone else is looking to join PFO as a Dwarf and wishes to support a traditional Dwarven settlement and the Dwarvish culture, please join us! We are not exclusively Dwarfs, but welcome Dwarf friends as well (that's you all you Gnomes that wish to have a home in-game; that's also you Halflings looking for a place to live in support of the stout folk of the River Kingdoms).
Forgeholm is now in the number 10 to 12 spot in the Land Rush. If you are so inclined please join up in support of all Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings of Golarion!
