Carrion Crown deduction boards [contains spoilers]

Carrion Crown

3 people marked this as a favorite.

SO I'm a player in a Carrion Crown group, and we've just recently begun Broken Moon.

I'm playing a magus with 22 intelligence, and in an attempt to properly reflect his intellect, I began making deduction boards, based on the observations we've made during the campaign thus far. These deduction boards were made primarily to figure out, what the whispering way are up to, and to learn as much about the bone-armor clad fellow who slew petros, as possible.

I started out by making one, based on our observations in Haunting of Harrowstone. Then I used my conclusions to help make a board for Trial of the Beast. Now as I said, we've only just recently started playing Broken Moon, but last playsession we met and got threatened by a werewolf. Since her words are the only information we really have from Broken Moon as of now, I've made a deduction board specifically for what she told us. I had to have my GM write me her entire monologue, so great thanks to my GM ^^

When the boards were done, I showed them to my GM, who encouraged me to post them for you all to see here.

Haunting of Harrowstone deduction board

Trial of the Beast deduction board

Dead(we killed her) werewolf lady's monologue deduction board

I'm not entirely sure about my deductions, especially my dissection of the werewolf lady's words. I've worked under the assumption that everything she said was 100% true, except the things which we knew for a fact was false(like that we have been sent by someone).

Anyhew, I hope you enjoy these. Or, in case you've already played/read through Carrion Crown, how wrong I am, might amuse you.

Cheers

I have not read the campaign yet, but I really like your approach to the problem.

Looks like some pretty great work! I'm running this campaign with some friends and I might have to swipe this idea... We're in Wake of the Watcher now and after over a year of play some of the details are a little fuzzy for them.

Good stuff. :)

As Nearyn's GM, I suggested that he post his deduction boards here. For me, Nearyn's approach to playing a character in my Carrion Crown campaign has been very refreshing and it'll be very interesting to have a look at his deduction boards come the end of book #6. Very cool stuff.

Those are awesome! If I'm ever playing in a mystery-driven AP like Carrion Crown (I'm GMing it at present), I think I'll try out your technique!

@Stereofm: Thank you. As I said this is merely my attempt to reflect a highly intelligent character's deductions(I have no idea if I'm close to or way off the mark :P ). Though I think I'll definitely come back to this idea in future campaigns, if faced with similar unexplainable events.

@judas 147: Thanks alot mate :) Compliment appreciated.

@d@ancingNumfar: You are most welcome. Also thank you for your kind words. Hope your campaign goes well :)

@Yossarin: Thank you kindly.

@Ravenmmantle: Oh I fully intend to do these boards until the end of the AP, provided Korlandril survives that long. Though I confess I might be tempted to continue making them, whether he lives or not :) Thanks for the kind remark on my roleplaying.

@Trinite: Thanks mate! Hope it works for you, should you choose to try it :)
