I think Curtis provided the main point in his speech to 'Felicity' (aka the viewers) about how we can't solve problems if we don't talk about them.
The political commentary was a little too obvious for my liking, but otherwise a worthwhile goal and handled fairly well with the magically non-specific bill that can please all sides.

Joel,
Welcome to the non-political world of Arrow verse politics.
I didn't like this episode...
I didn't love the episode, but I didn't hate it, and I respected what they were trying to do. I just felt it was a cop out solution at the end. If you're going to confront a topical and decisive issue, then confront it and make a stand. It won't make 100% of your audience warm and fuzzy, but what's the point of doing it if you don't make a statement, right or wrong. If you do that, then you create future storylines dealing with repercussions.

Unrelated to the silliness of their magical gun control reform: Did Wilddog's flashbacks bug anyone else? Chewing out his wife over her drug addiction? Sending his daughter to his room when there's obvious signs of a break in? I understand the guy's a little dense but he's supposed to have street smarts.

Well... he CLAIMS to have street smarts, but I haven't seen a lot of evidence of that.
The daughter bit was a lITTLE questionable... but honestly the break in wasn't the most likely option. He just had a big fight and gave an ultimatum to his junkie wife and the idea of her flipping out, wrecking the place before leaving, going on a bender, or some other shenanigans was probably first in his mind. Honestly I thought he was going to walk into an overdose situation with her dead next to the busted lamp or something.
And yeah... arguments over drug addictions? I didn't see anything odd about that. That's in a TON of shows all the time. The idea that they moved away from the bad part of town to start over and she brought that with her... That's pretty legitimate for him to be upset about.

I think the whole no law stated is because the writer literally couldn't think of a compromise, but were trying to say if politicians sat in a room and willing tried and where motivated they might be able to think of something. Its kind of a don't write about things you don't know. After all its not their job to come up with a solution but motivating people to try and find a solution can fall within their realm.
Also isn't it kind of weird that he says the gun would of saved her but he got his gun, shot the guy, and his wife still got shot.

Pretty well sums up my thoughts as well.
Too often now, people just shout ugly names at those with a differing opinion, instead of trying to find a middle ground. Seeing this on a TV show (even if it is just a silly comic book show) gives me hope that maybe, we can find our way out of the mess we are in and back to actually talking about our differences. [/political speech]
I love how the magic gun law offers not a single specific on what it [i]does[/does].
Also, Rene should have given his daughter the cordless phone and told her to wait outside. (Sidenote: what is up with outward opening doors on TV shows? I see them IRL on the outside of businesses, never in people's homes/apartments. They bring me out of the scene the way phone #s beginning with 555 do for others.)
And that CPS employee was amazingly dedicated, or has no human emotions. The world was about to end, there were nukes in the air. And she was in her office working.

I did not like this one another like this will cause me to abandon the whole show. The acting was terrible whenever it was the 3 women on set. I mean she just shot an arrow through a glass window killing your get away driver and you 3 are just going to saunter on up and hit on them? seriously?
Once again Mr.T doing his best being a human punching bag.

And it looks like Stephen Amell's contract runs through 2019, which would be through season 7 if there is one, for the 2018-2019 season. That doesn't mean if they want to run more than 7 seasons they can't extend it. But by then they might be ready to clear some room for new superheroes, since we already know they have a pilot order for Black Lightning next year, and if they also add a show in 2018-2019 they'll be even more superhero heavy if they don't retire a few.

Joel,
True. I figure we might get a season 7 but nothing assured. Plus the fact they'll still have to find room for Supernatural after all.
The fact that Supernatural was planned out for 5 seasons, and is going for 13+ is actually a mark in favor of Arrow continuing. CW isn't really known for cancelling their shows when they get something that the public likes. As long as CW is superhero central, I think Arrow is going to keep going.
I really can't wait for them to kill the flashbacks though. They've been jumping the shark for for 3 years there...

This is the last flashback season, so you'll get your wish.
It's the last Oliver "on the island" flashback season at least. They theoretically could do a flashback season for another character, but unlikely. We've already seen flashbacks for individual episodes for other characters, so their pasts are already someone covered. Could have a new character in S6 get a lot of flashbacks, but I'd think that's unlikely.

So now the question is which other identity of the other character is under the mask.
And, will the T-Spheres ever fly?
So Thea couldn't be around the team because of her daddy's blood. Now she can't work with Ollie at the other job. So basically, she needs to totally cut herself off from her family/support network. Which means whatever she does next, she won't have anyone around to look out for her.
And Felicity manages to act even dumber. Unless this was a ploy.

I think the actress playing thea is trying to leave the show imo, or at least take a break from it.
That's the impression I got too. Maybe they've run out of story for her? Maybe the Arrow-cave is getting too crowded... but she's backed of the heroing, now the politics... She skipped a few episodes entirely just showing up for the crossover...
I've had that 'She's moving on' feeling for a while now... Maybe she'll take off and find Roy... wherever it was he ended up?/
