Is there a subconscious bias against selecting certain players?

I am biased with my selection, and I think it is my right to be. My beliefs are somewhat similar to lordfeint's, though instead of half-orcs it's druids and synthesist summoners (because half-orcs are hot. I mean.)

I still have a druid in one of my campaigns.

As a DM, I am trying to have fun with my campaigns, and for that to happen I need to be biased. This is a character flaw of mine. I need to uphold a standard of mine.

That doesn't mean you can't be frustrated, but there will always be a demand of DM, and too many players. With the wrong players, the want to DM can go right out the window, and I've been close to the edge of that. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case with other DMs as well.

All this right here!

A willing and able PbP GM is a rare find and every one that stops GMing because he/she compromises their own enjoyment too much is a loss felt by the whole PbP community.

...and Theo IS Hawt!
(Its all the other half-orcs I hate.. except Lilly...she's kinda cool too. =D)

I can feel that as "World's Largest Dungeon" has been GMless for a week now.

So the ratio of GMs to Players is what about 1 to 400 here, or is it closer to 1 GM to 1600 Players.

If so, I think people who have been players only should start GMing to start balancing the ratio a bit and providing more player opportunities.

I am now also thinking about starting another PBP game to open another game for players.

@Patcher
I agree with you on upholding standards. As I never allow Evil characters (no matter how good a role player they are) and have a few class restrictions (like summoner).

I'm running a Novice PbP'r only Jade Regent game.7 players who have consistently posted daily with good stuff and are meshing well.

On the other hand I run one and play in two other games who's player/DM base is almost identical.I guess it's like Tabletop..you find guys you like to play with and stick with them.
