HoHR and changelings

Age of Worms Adventure Path

This is a touch ahead of schedule (we haven't started Whispering Cairn yet), but I was wondering: Would changelings get any kind of bonus to spot a doppelganger impersonating a party member? Would the 'ganger recognise a changeling for what he/she is and either avoid the party altogether or decide that the changeling would be the perfect one to impersonate?

Given that my justification for allowing changelings in Greyhawk is that they are second or third generation descendants of half-doppelgangers, how would the 'gangers feel about meeting a changeling? Would it be 'hss - not a pure blood REND!' or more 'welcome home cousin'?

Looking for ideas to get the imagination flowing again. Plus I don't know that much about doppelganger psychology.

Neither does anyone else, it seems. lol

Scarab Sages

The only real bonus that a changeling would get to detect that someone else is a doppleganger would be their racial bonus to Sense Motive checks (+2) and make a roll to get a hunch (DC 20 or 25 I think) Then again, there is a feat that is available to everyone in the Eberron book, called Recognize Imposter that gives a +4 on checks against Disguise and Bluff. But other than these things, changelings aren't really any better than anyone else
