Questions I forgot to ask Josh at Gencon

Pathfinder Society

Dark Archive

My first question is regarding the armory and purchase of slaves. I have a Cheliax Paladin who has purchased a slave to act as carriage driver. He is training to become a paladin and will get set free in one years time(My future Andoran character). I however do not think that this should be allowed without approval of some sort. Even though my intentions are good, others seem to assume the worst. Are there any plans to update the character creation guide in regards to this? I know that this is a touchy subject and have faith in the Paizo staff to come to a fair decision about it.

My second question is in regards to the faction guide. Are there any plans to have other societies become additional options for organized play? Instead of being Pathfinders the character may be from the Hellknights or Risen Guard. This opens up the potential for a convention group challenge mod that has tables of each society working towards getting to the goal first. And maybe the winner each year gets a boon for their Society or something along those lines. I think this would be a wonderful way to bring in even more players. My concern is that there may not be enough help for Josh to do this. If you are in need of volunteers to assist in making this happen, I am offering to assist.

Thanks in advance,
Bo

The slave decision has already been made, though the thread about it is probably in the archives by now. Basically, Josh ruled that in PFS slaves are pure fluff and have no stat blocks or skills or anything and players cannot take them into a situation where something like that would be required. They can be a part of your character's story and history as much as you want but they cannot participate in the actual scenarios.

As for the Faction Guide, all Josh has said is that he will have to review it and decide what parts, if any, will be allowed, just like with all the other books Paizo has put out. I think the only thing he said for sure is that none of the Factions would be made legal for play any time soon.

Edit:

Here is the link to Josh's post about this.

Grand Lodge 3/5

The subject has come up before about slaves, (and this is from Josh as I understand it) and since slaves are unstated property and can't really interact in the game, end up mostly as flavor rather than any thng else. There risn't a reason why you shouldn't be able to do just what your looking to do.

As far as characters being outside of the Pathfinder Society, I woundn't count on it. There would too many issues with writing senarios, and frankly it would also mean that we are abandoning the living champaign setting of Pathfinder Society and going in a generic Golarion setting. Moving on so early would cost us so many player would crush
Paizo living play.
