Do the PCs radiate strong necromancy

According to the spell description: "The effects are instantaneous, so no magic lingers on the victim. If subjected to detect magic, the target sheds no magical aura, though the focus item gives off a strong necromantic magic." So the PCs simply appear to be carrying magic items.

But more interesting ... Did anyone notice the gotcha at the end of the spell description? Since the adventure is for 9th level characters, the PCs lose their best new resource for coping with disaster. There's no mention of this detail in the sample Q&A with the necromancer, so the PCs may not realize that this adventure is even more deadly than the prospect of a one-way portal into the heart of the drow empire suggests (unless they think to ask).

Adventurers beware! Do not go gentle into that endless night!

The Blooded Meow?

That's what I read when I tried to read the title of the Set Piece. Weird. What do I have on my mind?

Exactly. I think this is an important part of paladin-hood - and goodness in general - that often goes unrecognized. Well said, Black Fox.

None of this adventure takes place in Riddleport. You could argue that Zirnakaynin desperately needs a paladin, but I don't think many of its citizens are longing for a Lawful Good society, particularly not the 3% of its citizens who are ghouls. (Can you imagine a city where ghouls are considered part of the demographic?) I think the point is that in Zirnakaynin, the paladin will have to stifle his usual inspiring behavior, because the only sentiments it will likely inspire are those that are deadly to himself and his companions.

Even in the best of circumstances, I don't think that all paladins are defined quite so narrowly. In that sense my scenario with the kobold was partly intended to make a serious point; not that I fail to recognize the normal conventions of paladin-hood.

I don't know. Is it antlered?
