looking at Wellard's basic map
I'd guess we're spread something like this:
.
.
.OOOKUOW
.O.ONI.LA.W
.OO.REMO.W
WWWDWWW
WHERE W = wall, O = empty square, R= Romon, E= Randi, M= Muchorak, N = Naria, I = Inikai, L= Luna, A = Ali, K = Marak, and U = Ursus.
Just my 2 cents. Criticize at will.
Edit: Hmm it looked a lot better in the composition window. Periods added to line things up better. Good enough.

Ooooooh, I am so wound up. This is the coolest combat thing Romon has tried since the first time he didn't bother drawing a weapon because the party was going to toast the foe. Metagame I know (if he hit) 18 hp isn't going to down the ogress, but hopefully it hurts her enough that her casting is hampered.
C'mon, Wellard, just make your ruling.
Bill, that Nat GEo special sounds pretty entertaining.

I'm pretty sure I've suggested this before, and, as this is nowhere near the first time the issue of confusion of which round it is or what's going on has come up, perhaps it's time to give the idea another look. If everyone included in their battle posts their stats, init, what round it is etc. (something similar to Ali's last post-not my idea, but it's used in several games I'm in and works great) it would go a great deal to eliminating these kinds of issues for good. A way to make it much easier and quicker is to make up up and keep it on your profile or in a doc or something than just copy/paste and adjust as necessary. Anyway, them's my two cp. PS Thanks for the clear up Romon : )
This is a good idea. I've seen it used in a couple other games. I kinda sorta notreally do it sometimes too. I'd be willing to give it a try.

Stat block thingie done.
I like having peoples hit points easily visible, at least, for healing purposes. I feel guilty when someone mentions being down on hit points and it's been several pages and I didn't notice...

Sometimes I wonder if anyone actually reads my posts.... I already stated that Esteriande and Muchorak had brought down one off the males then asked Ali if she wanted to delay till after Muchorak in order to avoid taking two possible AoO's .
Is this post below what you're referring to Wellard?
Esteriande and Muchorak manage to drop one ogre between them.Ali will have to make an acrobatics roll or delay till after Muchorak has gone
1d4 ⇒ 1
Romon draws blood with his first attack.
Perception roll from Lunas please.
no second door no windows.
Waiting for Naria.
While it's certainly possible that I'm still missing something, I've looked at all your recent posts and don't see any mention of Ali having a choice between delaying or taking two AoOs...or even one. But then perhaps I'm simply experiencing a mental block of some sort.
Set |
Dabbler/Set: It is possible to use crafting to increase the bonuses of items, isn't it?
It's a GM's call, but usually yes.
Sadly there is no way to take the '+1' off of an ogre hook and put it on something that someone might ever use (or to polymorph the ogre hook into something serviceable, like a sword or bow). :)

I have played it in the past with my home group that you can use the sale value of a magic item as contributory to the manufacturing price of another, similar item. So two +1 ogrehooks could do as the required 'cost' of crafting a +1 sword once you have the masterwork sword as the base.
Up to Wellard how he wants to play it, of course.

It is up to Wellard, but I say them's the breaks. Sometimes you get good loot. Sometimes you wonder WTF Logue was thinking. Did he really believe the ogre hook was so cool that every party would have some PC who wanted to use one? I would have just given the ogres +2 to their base strength. Given the average ogre is just about creative enough to wipe his butt, who would be making +1 ogre hooks?

Dueling Bagpipes? That is scary!
BTW, my plan had been to open the door just a little bit to squeeze through and not reveal the party outside. I wanted to get R into flanking position before hostilities began. Perfectly happy to roll with the ruling as made on the table though.

Nice. My wife has a Bulgarian bagpipe. She doesn't play it much anymore, but she used to. They play mad time signatures.
Sigh..he's going down on round 2..you guys just massacre everything you meet..but at 7/1 odds what else would you do
Don't count me. I used round 1 moving to flanking position. And Romon falls so late in initiative order that the ogre's gonna be dead before he gets a crack at him.

Boston got rocked pretty hard. (32" in my backyard) My wife spent most of yesterday shoveling. I'm working in Seattle and the job's stretching out a bit. That's just as well. My Sat flight home was cancelled due to the weather and I can't get another til Tuesday.

Lol Wellard
I say Inikai takes the belt, as it should help his melee results enough to make a difference. Ali's plenty strong already in Dire Wolf form and she's got a belt on anyway.

DM Wellard wrote:Off course to the Scots and Canadians amongst us 8-10 inches of snow is barbeque weatherI thought that Scotland only gets snow in the very northern areas. Apparently, I was misinformed.
Oh no, the UK as a whole has been hit with some heavy snow, although our definition of 'heavy' may vary. We had six inches of it here a few weeks back, but that was small fry compared to some we had a few years ago - but then I live in a borough called 'High Peak' (which is 'low hill' by US standards, but we make the most of what we have here).
As for northern Scotland, some years ago when I visited friends up there with my (now ex-) wife she turned to me and asked what the five-meter tall poles with orange tops that lined the roads were for. They were for the snow-ploughs to help them find the road in winter.
That said, we don't get as much snow as we used to. Six inches is the most we had this year, and it only lasted for a week. My friend recalls when she had snow up to her bedroom window forty years ago (no, it wasn't a ground floor bedroom). Don't you just love global warming?

Back in the late 70s I remember massive amounts of snow over the course of days. Then, in the mid-80s winters became less severe for several years. In the early 90s we went back to terrible winters* for a few years and the pattern has maintained itself. A few years ago it was 70 degrees Fahrenheit on New Years Day and then cold again a week later.
