I think it helps keep the moralizing to a minimum if you look at succubi as less sexuality demons and more as seduction demons. The angels/celestials are presented as sex-neutral. Succubi are built for seduction so by definition they can't be sex-neutral. Obviously someone is sleeping with angels or else there'd be no aasimar. They just aren't seducing people because, well, that's evil.

The kusarigama is an exotic weapon, but druids don't have any restrictions about what weapons they can use if they want to go the extra mile to learn the proficiency. You could spend a feat on exotic weapon proficiency and learn to use it.

For now it's a pretty good weapon but of course later in the adventure you will likely want stuff with special materials and different bonuses.

Oh I grabbed the dagger because I literally don't have a melee weapon and if there's any more fog-type situations I want to be able to sneak attack. If someone else wants it I'll just pick one up in the next town we visit.

You did it! Book 1 is complete!

Everyone can advance to level 4!

The gear that you found, as Morgrym identified, includes a handy haversack, a +2 wisdom headband, and a pair of boots of elvenkind that look like ninja gear. You will eventually identify all of the potions (Lyraesel, Koya, and Deborah can all help), and discover a total of 2 potions of cure light wounds, 5 endure elements, and 3 shield of faith, all caster level 1.

I'm going to move Kenji and Viv to inactive and we can start the process of bringing in two new recruits. If you have people to recommend, by all means let us know (but don't invite them over here until we've had a chance to decide who we want!).

I agree, a melee and an arcane or psychic caster is probably for the best. Remember that I'm a little flexible in regards to character types, so someone could play a samurai, a gunslinger, an occult class, a centaur (with some reductions to the stat bonuses), a fae-touched, or something odd like that. But a human fighter with a connection to someone in the group would also work just fine!

Our remaining connections are Lyraesel->Shalelu, Bernard->Koya, and Morgrym->Sandru. A connection to Ameiko would be nice.

Have your potential recruits drop in to the Recruitment thread for now and we'll do a mini-recruitment round to pick two people. If you guys just have two people in mind it will be very short. :)

Morgrym, the other stuff eventually identifies as a +1 returning starknife, a pearl of power (1st level), and (I thought this was already posted - in fact I am almost certain of it) a +1 light fortification light steel shield and a ring of the ram (10 charges).

Oh, and don't forget to tell your friends that we are a casual-speed game averaging updates every 2-3 days. Some people only like to play fast, brisk games.

So we're both Wisdom casters, but mine's currently higher were you looking to take the headband or the pearl Morgrym? You're probably currently the only one who can use the shield as well.

Would it be possible to retrain a feat?

5 days at 30 gp per day, and you need someone who has the feat that you want. If nobody in the caravan does, you'll need to do it in the next town or city, but since our next step is to get the caravan to a town and pick up your new party members, that's really a non-issue.

The shield is, frankly, kinda a piece of pricey junk and you may just want to liquidate it. Light shields are not worth the arm they take up compared to heavy shields, and if Morgrym decides to use an urgrosh a lot that's usually used as a two-handed weapon. Since it has a property on it, it has a high cash value, and may be worth more for you to just sell it and get a regular +1 heavy darkwood shield for someone, or maybe some magic armor.

Makes sense. I realize I haven't made use of the Spell Focus (Conjuration) at all, and at lvel 5 I'll be able to summon anything canine as a standard action rather than full round, with my level in bonus HP.

Given that, I'd want to pick up the exotic weapon Proficiency with the Kusarigama. It's pretty perfect (trips, which is part of my fighting style, and the sickle end is like a wolf fang)

Problem is the liklihood of finding someone proficient in it this side of the Spine of the world.

If you get a monk or ninja (or multiclass of those) in the party, those classes have proficiency with it. But if we get a PC monk or ninja then they might as well use the magical kusarigama, eh?

True. Trying to figure on being more effective melee wise. The dagger is thematic but crap for damage. Granted I can Wild shape now but still...

Melee druids are kinda hard, I've found, because you need to get a decent armor class and your weapon selection is limited if you don't burn feats. Kusarigamas are really cool but require both hands, so your AC is not great, though they do have reach, which is super handy.

Maybe we should see what we get from recruitment. If nobody comes in with a kusarigama-wielder, consider picking it up as an exotic weapon and focus on doing lots of tripping with it. If you decide to go all-out you could go down the Ascetic Style feat chain and at the end your weapon damage is equal to the unarmed damage of a monk of your level-4, so that could give it a better base damage. That's a ton of feats though. Probably better just to get Focus in it and then Weapon Versatility so that you can use the bludgeoning (higher-damage) end and do slashing or piercing if needed to penetrate DR.
