Shadow Lodge Event Coordinator - Dragon's Lair Comics & Fantasy®

Hey everyone! If you're going to be in the Austin area this weekend, you should check out the Dragon's Lair Pathfinder Ultimate Game Day!

WHAT: Wall-to-wall gaming, with as many players and GMs as we can pack into the space, plus free door prizes and giveaways
WHEN: 6:00 pm on Saturday night through 5:00 am on Sunday morning
WHERE: Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy on Burnet road, across from Lamar Middle School and south of HWY 183
WHY: It's free to play, and did I mention free giveaways?

Bring a sleeping bag and we'll supply the coffee!

We've got pregenerated characters, scenarios and maps all ready to go. Just bring your luckiest set of dice and get ready to game!

One of the super awesome prizes you'll get a chance to win if you make it all the way through the second slot is the new hardcover Rise of the Runelords collection, signed by like half of Paizo. Seriously, I think the only reason there aren't more signatures on it is because the book didn't have enough blank space in it for everyone.

BE THERE OR BE SQUARE

UPDATE: This event just got 100% more awesome! We have bumped this back to Saturday night and will be gaming ALL NIGHT LONG! You'll get to take over the store for real as we lock the doors and settle in for NOTHING BUT PATHFINDER 'TILL DAWN! Holy crap I'm so excited

Texan Pathfinders, it's that time again! Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy in Austin ran its first Pathfinder Ultimate Game Day in September, and we had so much fun we decided to make it QUARTERLY.

The next Game Day is scheduled for Saturday, December 1st!

WHAT: Wall to wall gaming, Society sanctioned games, and FREE STUFF
WHEN: Sunday, December 2nd at 11 am
WHERE: Dragon's Lair Austin, at 6111 Burnet Road, just south of 183 and across the street from Lamar Middle School

This time, the sessions will be longer, the prizes will be more epic, and the paperwork will be a whole HECK of a lot better organized! We're once again packing the store from wall to wall with nothing but nonstop gaming and RPG giveaways. We'll also have a beginner's table and a kid's table for those new to the game and anyone bringing little ones along!

This Game Day's theme is Winter and Ice, so dress up in your favorite fur cloaks for extra gamer cred and make sure your PCs pack cold-weather gear!

We will be holding a special charity aspect of the event: bring in a giant stack of nonperishable food items, and throughout the day you can turn in a can (or box) of food at any time to get a free reroll at the gaming table! All food donated will go straight to local food banks, just in time for the holidays. The last charity event we ran at the store collected over 200 meals! I bet we can top it, unless you guys think you're not as awesome as the Magic:the Gathering kids... (oh snap, I went there)

Also, I NEED GM'S! If you think this event sounds awesome but you've already played every scenario ever written, or you just really love mimicking the feral cries of various magical beasts and aberrations, I WANT YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS EVENT AWESOME! Email me at erin@dlair.net to snag a slot, or just sign up on Warhorn.

Our Warhorn site for this event is here

Game on, Texas!

Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy is planning an Ultimate Game Day this September 22nd. We're running thirteen tables over three time slots, mostly PFS modules and scenarios, but a couple of other modules just for fun. Characters of nearly any level will be able to find a table (unless you're above 20 or so, in which case maybe not, haha).

WHEN: September 22nd, 10am to Midnight
WHAT: Thirteen tables and fourteen hours of solid back-to-back gaming, random door prizes, PFS credit, modules, specials, and sessions geared towards everyone from total beginners to veteran players. There will also be a consolation prize for whoever rolls the most nat-1's during the course of the day.
WHERE: Dragon's Lair Comics and Fantasy at 6111 Burnet Road, south of 183 and right across from Lamar Middle School.
WHY: Because it's going to freaking sweet, that's why.

ALSO, I NEED GMS. If you're in the Austin area and can stop by on the 23rd for even just one four-hour time slot (10am-2pm, 3pm-7pm, or 8pm-Midnight), send me your email address. All GMs get bonus prizes for helping out, including coupons for store merchandise, among other things. If you're already involved in the Dragon's Lair Pathfinder Society group, this event will also count towards your GMing credit (if you GM twice in a thirty day period at the Lair, you get a 10% discount on Pathfinder supplies). If you GM for more than one slot, you'll get better prizes!

We have a Warhorn page for the event here: http://warhorn.net/DragonslairAustin/schedule/day.php?date=2012-09-23

Email me at erin@dlair.net for questions, or message me here. You can also come in to the store and check things out.

We're planning on growing this into a full-scale convention in the future, so help me prove how awesome Pathfinder's following in Austin is!

A player at our regular event posed this question, and I was wondering if there's an official ruling (I have not been able to find one). He's playing a summoner, and he also has a trained animal that he travels with (a hawk, which he purchased legally and uses Handle Animal to control). I know that normally a PC isn't allowed to have more than one animal, animal companion, mount, etc traveling with them, but I was wondering if it's legal to have both an eidolon and a trained animal, since the eidolon is a class feature, not a cohort in the usual sense.

Thoughts?

I mostly ask out of plain curiosity, because it will likely be a very long time before I get a chance to play again (I'm GMing as a store employee), so I've got a stack of GM-credit chronicle sheets building up that I'll probably never use.

So you guys that have been running tables for years and have dozens of tables' worth of GM credit, do you actually use it all on your own characters, or do you just let it pile up in your closet, lol?
