SE Texas, as close to Louisiana as you can get without actually being in a parish instead of a county,

If you like somewhere near or between Beaumont and Lake Charles, give a shout!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback!

Hopefully, I am misinformed or not properly understanding the Devs approach to flagging, bounties, alignment, etc.

Specifically, I am scratching my head trying to figure out how to be a "good" Lawful Evil type. My view of LE is that it is not necessary so bad, just effecient... kinda like that corporation many people work for - it's not a bad place to work, just don't expect to be treated kindly and oh lordy help you if you step outta line!

Er, ahyhoo... Here's hoping that evil types can be evil without constantly flagging themselves for curse-nuking from carebears.

I'm not interested in griefing, trolling, whatever. Evil should be done with a bit of style, a bit of panache, and a mailed fist raised toward you goody-goody freaks who probably molest stuffed bears in the privacy of your own homes!

"facere quod vis" , dawg =p

Ya...getting a bit authoritarian wanting to control how other people play the game down to a level like this.

Play the game how you want to. Form a guild and enforce your own naming rules if you want to. But don`t go too far overboard with telling other people how they should be having fun.

This...

..though you Drizzzzzzzzt and Seppphirrrroth clones, beware - lest my watchful eye find you flagged like a jucy young peach, ripe for the plucking...

How about:
Once an object stops moving for X time units, the object cannot block or collide ( aka bumping ) ?

Side note:
My current group uses bumping to legally impede others seeking the same contested spawns. ( It's kind of like pass blocking - they get around you but you cost them time while your claimer tags the mob, works best with two or more blockers )

Conclusion:
Monkeys will always find ways to fling poop at one another.

edit: Might need for bumping to be constantly turned on for objects in combat...

The River Kingdoms are two sets of falls away from some truly momentous river/ocean access.

Can players set the goal of conquering the river falls with locks and canals? I don't know.

But this area is really really cool. Those of you who have not played or GMed the Kingmaker campaign series are in for a treat!

This, exactly.

I actually have np with bots that do not screw another player. Your version of what screws another player will vary, though, and has been a long-time debate amongst the friends in my current gaming chat channels.

Like I said, your mileage may vary and anyone who does not agree with me is obviously wrong. Now I'm going to go look at funny cat videos.

Have they announced how Names will work? I'm hoping they go with a system that allows duplicate names.

Given that there are pledge options for which something in the game world is named for your character, I certainly hope exact duplicate names are not allowed.

I'm strongly tempted to pledge the geography buff for Chiassa, but won't do so if multiple people who didn't pledge it get the name recognition benefit.

Err.. if that is how Geography Buff works, I'd be sorely tempted, too!

Not sure if that is how it works though? Does anyone know for sure?

All of these pledge levels - geography buff, item master, magic master and famous ancestor - refer repeatedly to "your character." Famous ancestor specifically references a physical similarity between the statue and "your character"'s in-game appearance. The others aren't that explicit, but all four levels ask for the same thing: "a proper name for a character and a 300-word history of that character".

Well, that is my point, exactly. All of these options follow the same pattern - at one point in the text, they refer to "a character" and then later on they refer to "your character" and still later talk about copywriting the name, ownership, etc.

Would be really cool if that is how Geography Buff, etc really DO work!

Think of it: "Feistybottom's Pie Shoppe" !

The only thing I could see being acceptable is giving pledge levels that involve providing a character background priority. Otherwise it should be by qualifying pledge date, not amount given.

That is a matter of opinion.

Amount given effects how much the Kickstarter gains to achieve the goal.
So, perhaps the larger donors "should" get to choose names first.

That would be another opinion.

Thus my question in the OP. Maybe we will get lucky and get something from the DEVs. Until then, I am sure opinions will vary.

P.S. I keel you, Lord Feistybottom name-takers! =p

My main reason for increasing my pledge from 35 bucks to 100 was that I could get in early and grab a my character name. "Lord Feistybottoms" rides again!

All the swag and whatnot is nice, but the real reason for my 100 dollar pledge was to be in a pool that got to pick their names earlier. Call it names if you want, but this was my personal priority. I supposed I could have pledged even higher, but "Duke Feistybottoms" doesn't sound right to me.

So now I wonder if the 35 dollar pledge might be a better option, since you get most (all?) of the in-game advantages as the 100 dollar pledge.

I'm sure the 35 dollar people will probably pile in here with the yelling, but I really would like to know my options here because I may just rejoin you guys!

But a couple ideas:
1. Higher pledge = higher naming priority. You are trying to raise cash, right?
2. A "prioritize your name with how much cash you toss at it" add-on. Again, you do want to raise cash, right ?

Also, if no bones are tossed, will my pledge timer be credited with when I initially pledged my 35 bucks or when I moved up to the 100 dollar level. In other words, will I get penalized in terms of naming priority for increasing my pledge? What if I reduce my pledge to 35 dollars - will my initial pledge time stay the same?

Look, I am not trying to disparage pledges, you DO get some cool stuff with all the levels. However, my personal priorities are almost entirely in-game.
