When "Caulky" Tarroon was spotted trying to poison the locals at the Ridetide Alehouse in a nefarious plot to press gang them into the Wormwood's crew, one hell of a bar fight took place! Despite the chaos of the brawl, Tarroon was cornered and ol' Captain Karth of the Black Lady gave her one chance to surrender and make amends. Tarroon agreed..

The next morning (and every morning since) "Caulky" has cooked up some of the finest waffles in Port Peril history thanks to her new job as cabin girl of the Black Lady. And, of course, because of the shiny new Mithril Waffle Iron the crew all pitched in to buy!

Mmmmmm Pirate Diplomacy.

Haley grins at the older halfling. There won't be any ringing of necks while we are around, dear heart, haven't you heard? We are the heroes of Sandpoint and we will keep you safe! Haley says a bit too loudly while lifting the large wooden mug up with both hands (which is quite empty..) in an impromptu toast.

Her blue eyes look down at the keys with their wooden dragon scale decoration and she says in wonder. Are dragon scales truly as big as this? Even cast in wood they are beautiful, no? She looks up at her gathered companions. Can you imagine what it must be like to see one? A real dragon! Thousands of glistening scales like gemstone and a heart that burns like the storms themselves. She licks her lips and looks down longingly at her empty mug.

I imagine it must be the most majestic and terrifying thing in all of Golarion to witness a dragon in flight and to know that if its eye falls upon you there is nothing you can do to alter its will.. Haley seems lost in the concept and she looks away a moment.

However, she blinks and returns her attention to Corwin with a coy smile. Did you say something about free drinks?

Greetings, heroes of Varisia! I will be starting a PbP campaign based on the Jade Regent adventure path! While many NPCs, locations, items and plots will be coming straight from the APs, I will be making some changes to the story as I see fit.

I will be looking for a balanced 4-5 player group that can commit to at least 2 posts a day and have a passion for traveling to new and exciting places! (You'll have your very own caravan!)

Character guidelines:

20 point buy (no stat above an 18. No stat below an 8.)
1st Level
Average Gold
3 Traits (1 from the JR Player's Guide)
Fast exp. advancement
Core races and class's are preferred.
(With that being said I will entertain any concept idea)
All Core Pathfinder books allowed. Please no 3.5 material.
Other material may be considered on an individual basis.

Getting Started:

Keep in mind this campaign will be focused on a great deal of traveling so sign up if you want to see all sorts of wondrous places within Golarion! There is also a distinct Tian (oriental) theme to the AP so classes like Samurai and Ninja will feel right at home. With that being said, a wide selection of classes will work for this campaign as you will be traveling and encountering many diverse cultures and peoples along the way.

You will be starting the adventure in the small city of Sandpoint and many of you will have some tie to the NPCs located there. Be sure to check out the JR Player's guide for details.

What makes me a happy GM:

A character that feels alive, with a short back story and a physical description. Characters should have a good balance between enough info to guide the beginning of the story, and general enough to develop and evolve along the way.

I’m looking for players who enjoy cinematic combats and creating interesting descriptions and dialogue. I'm also looking for friendly folk who enjoy the social interaction and casual nature of such a game.

I will always attempt to keep to the Pathfinder rules and mechanics when it comes to gameplay unless something does not translate well or is bogging down the posts.

Well, noble players, I have said too much as it is. The legend of the Jade Regent begins and that legend requires heroes of renown! Do you have what it takes to see this journey to the end?

Haley bids Aldern a pleasant goodbye. I look forward to seeing you again, Mr Foxglove. The truth is, the prospect of a warm bath and rest is a very alluring prospect.

Tossing her wild mane of red hair back from her face she makes her way over to Dairkal. She is happy to be alive, around friends and is in the mood for some mischief to enliven her spirits. You, sir, were quite amazing back there. I didn't know your dagger was as sharp as your wit! Let's head over to the Rusty Dragon and I'll buy you an apple or two.. She grins playfully and skips away from him if he decides to retaliate.

Moving swiftly away, Haley manages to bump into Savarend who is walking beside them to the inn. Ohhh, I'm sorry! She laughs. Extending her hand she realizes she must look like a mess, but she doesn't care.

I'm Haley! Are you at all related to E-Terah? She realizes how foolish her question is and continues. I guess not all dwarves know each other, huh?

Blades and Magic and Bolts! Oh My!

The commando died from all sides- a focal point to the vengeance and protection the gathered heroes served up in Sandpoint's name. That it continued to still smile its wide arching death-grin was a horrid reminder of the twisted glee these murderous creatures received from their own machinations.

Haley stood there a moment unable to register what she was feeling. Victory and companionship. Sorrow and horror. Pain and pleasure. Her small crossbow clattered to the ground at her feet as the nobleman swept her attention up.

You. You…saved me.. She heard the man say and she tried to keep her eyes on his eyes, but she found them wandering. There was cheerful Dairkal edging close to the group. The slender figure of Alaren was prowling the perimeter with bow in hand. E-terah was trudging towards her, muttering words to herself while delving out deep Dwarven wisdom and preparing a healing spell. In a moment of keen metallic clarity she thought they must all be her family now. A family at arms together.

Never have I witnessed such courage before. . Her eyes returned to the noblemen again as he went to one knee and took her hand. Gods, they were courageous, weren't they? A city in peril and they had stood against their foes!

She felt a whisper of lips against her tattooed hand and a flush crept up her neck. . . or witnessed one with such beauty.

Haley laughed! Openly and loudly. Beauty? She could hardly contain the dark humor that had passed over her. The poor blood stained dandy and the scared, battered girl in the torn robes.

She grinned at him. Well, I'm just glad you are alright. And for the record, I'm no noble's daughter, so know that you waste your kisses and your kind gestures on the child of a poor merchant. She said without shame.

Happy Nameday Dairkal! Have a mug of honeymead, comb your foot hair and eat until you hate yourself! (Isn't that how halflings celebrate? 0_0)

That song! Like a twisted nursery rhyme, the goblin's song seems to feed their mayhem like lamp oil on a wild fire. Just past the billowing smoke and the fury of Alaren and E-Terah shrieked one of the sources of that terrible cadence. It had to be silenced, Haley decided, even if for a moment.

Stepping out from behind the safety of the stage to better gain sight of the rising flame between them, Haley gives in to the new presence in her bloodline that has awaken so fiercely. yes.. It seems to utter. Burn it all down.. And, at that moment, perhaps she would if she could..

Instead, A Phoenix takes shape and lifts itself from the makeshift pyre on wings of sparking light, its beak opens but it's war cry is the pop and fizzle of an elaborate firework.

It spreads it's wingspan out over the goblins below, stinging but harmless sparks falling like rain on their bulbous heads, THEN- It arches and streaks like a dart directly towards the war chanter trailing light behind it.

Haley casts Snap dragon fireworks. DC 16 Will to negate. Dazzles!

In all of her 18 years of life on Golarion nothing had ever charged her in anger before. So when the goblin rushed forward with his ragged nails eager for her throat she found it impossible to react.

Her cantrip had failed, most likely do to her own verbal stumblings with the spell- how proud her instructors back home would be- and the goblin came on with a frantic whorl of murder in his oversized eyes.

But with all the ferocity of a landslide the she-dwarf collided with the goblin from the side, her palm coated in a haze of hissing white that ate at her attacker's face. The goblin's momentum shifted violently and his slashing fist moved wildly along the thin fabric covering Haley's midriff doing no real damage but tearing the cloth.

Half a moment later the slender blade of the elf connected from the other direction and, like the precise strike of a sand adder, struck green flesh in a blur of motion.

A light spray of blood dotted Haley's face, neck and shoulder who remained motionless during the swift and brutal exchange.

She blinked. The sound escaping her lips soft and miserable.

Ewwwhh..

Haley takes no actions this turn.

Thank you for the comments and advice. =)

I worked up a lovely little Marque on parchment complete with Bonefist's sigil in gold, blood red ink and a real wax seal to hold the envelope together. I analyzed some authentic Marques and altered the words to fit the setting. It turned out to be a great hand out and the players clutched it like it was the real deal tonight. All in all, I was very happy with the end results despite the time I put into piecing it together.

In AP 57, Tempest Rising, the Hurricane King awards the players a Marque proving their status as Free Captains and outlining their authority to pirate in the area.

This seems like an important piece of document for the campaign and I'd love to create a handout that seems authentic and fitting to the AP as far as how it is written.

Does anyone have any suggestions of a Marque right-up I could put down on paper or has anyone already created one of these for their players and could offer some tips?

Game Well!

Anytime! I got that info from the Gnomes of Golarion companion which is a good read if you have a spot in your heart for gnomes like I do. =)
