Background:
Vorian Lostek sometimes remembers his life, before. He'll meet new Padawans or speak with Masters who have been observing his activities. Vorian tells them the truth, but his memories of that happy youth as a Padawan, of becoming not only a student but a friend to Sarissa Jeng, a Jedi Knight and his Master.
Then, Geonosis happened.
He hadn't been strong enough. Sarissa and he had fought, side by side, dispatching countless Geonosians, but he missed a deflection. He was badly wounded and Sarissa suddenly had to make all of her moves to defend her injured Padawan. She fought valiantly, lasting longer than Vorian would have dreamed possible...but in the end, she was lost in a hail of blaster fire.
That was when he was born. There, on the sands of Geonosis.
Vorian was saved by the arrival of the clone army. He was rescued, and he recovered, though there was some nerve damage that made him less physically powerful than he had been. Given his performance at Geonosis, the Council deemed him ready for the Trials. He passed, but it felt hollow without Sarissa there to share in his triumph.
Little did he know, she was still there.
The final part of his trial was to build his own lightsaber. He knew how to, at least in theory, but he was having trouble focusing. Any time he tried, his mind would flash back to the battle, to watching his master get gunned down in front of him. He was nearly ready to give up, when he heard her whisper...
"The Force is still with you, as am I. Always."
At first, he thought he was going mad, but Vorian eventually realized that Sarissa's spirit lingered on, speaking to him through the Force. She instructed him to use the crystal from her own lightsaber, which had been recovered from Geonosis and given to Vorian, her apprentice. He found the crystal, and this time when he went to create his weapon, there was clarity. There was purpose...there was the Force.
His lightsaber blazed to life, his blade the same as his Master's. Now, Vorian was a Jedi.
Eventually, Sarissa was able to manifest as more than only a voice. Her guidance has become something that Vorian relies on, and her presence is a constant comfort, strengthening his connection to the Force.
In the years since, Vorian has taken a more proactive approach than many Jedi. He has seen the dangers of complacency, and will not allow the Jedi to be caught unawares by an enemy again. Vorian has an active presence in the Republic Military, and has a new mission to free Bespin from the Separatists..
Appearance:
Vorian stands a full two meters, with a lithe, athletic body. He keeps his hair short and face shaved more as a matter of convenience than preference, but he is handsome, with well defined cheekbones and a strong jaw. Vorian typically wears Jedi robes.
Personality:
Since Geonosis, Vorian has become intense and focused. Some liken him to Qui-Gon Jinn; he is more interested in doing what he feels is right and being an active warrior for the Republic than in the will of the Council. He is not hotheaded, but he believes that the Council's reluctance to act overtly is a mistake that leaves the Order, and the Galaxy, vulnerable.
Given his trauma, Vorian has few close friends. He has become far closer with some of the clone troopers he has served with than many of his Jedi companions. He appreciates men and women of action, and will often become fast friends with those that go on missions with him.
Vorian lacks what some see as a Jedi's reserve, and enjoys drinking and the company of women, though he is still careful to control himself and avoid possessive relationships.
