Curnach has no problem with letting him tag along and neither does Trinia, who often spends all her time with him as they see this as a way to take a break, go shopping and have a meal.

Will you teleport back to the temple or somewhere else? Where is Sial supposed to wait for you?

"Well done Krenn! I was so scared he might have the better hand for a moment." Trinia says with a wide grin "But it was fun to watch."

As you travel east you notice carins decorated with animal skulls ontop. Trinia explains she learnt that these are warning symbols to strangers who enter the lands. Unlike other tribes however, these Shoanti do not attack on sight. As you go further and further east these carins become more and more common. It takes about 6 hours having your mounts jog, not wanting to push them too hard, but not wanting to merely walk all the way there.

You are intercepted by four shoanti warriors on the back of horses. These Shoanti and their horses are covered in ritualistic paint. They all carry Earth Breakers and composite longbows. They move at a trot and block your path. Their pain is similar to that of Thousand Bones, to those who met him, and one of them speaks up.
"Takuwe yuha niye hiyu el ukitaway makoce, tshamek?"

Shoanti language translation:

He said "Why have you come to our lands, tshamek?" the word Tshamek is their word for outsiders. Often said through gritted teeth due to the anger many have against those who stole their land where Korvosa and many other settlements are built upon.

Trinia looks to the group.
"He asks, what we are doing here. Do you want me to translate Jerin or do you wish to? If I do, what do you wish to say? I suggest you be straight with them, but also respectful." she mentions as she looks back to the warriors. They have weapons, but have not risen them as they await a reply and the fact you have not drawn your weapons, not appear to be some violent thugs have seen to them getting as close as they have. They are still about 15ft away from the group, being cautious of you.

what about during downtime? I'm willing to backtrack and say what's been happening there. Also, you have a mount? No idea how you'll be traveling. So far Jerin has a mount, but what about Trinia, Krenn and Llyra.

Tinia gives a weak smile and takes hold of Curnach's hand.
"I believe there will be a resistance, but we do more by learning about the crown." she says confidently "Besides, missed you. My hero."

Jerin smiles at the interplay between Trinia and Llyra.

It's good to see you again Trinia, it will be good to have someone along who can help guide us on this journey.
I guess we should purchase some horses and be on our way soon. I will have to update my spell selection for an outside journey!

Is it me, or do you perfer Trinia's picture in the avatar than the later picture they did of her in part 4 where she looks like a little boy? :s

"Hi Jerin." Trinia smiles in a welcoming way. "I'm sure Jasan will let you have his horses. He wants to get his family somewhere safe and won't need every horse in the ranch. Can you not teleport us to Kaer Maga? It would quicken our jurney since we need to get there soon."

Trinia looks a little surprised at this question.
"You've not heard?" she asked and turns to Neolandus who also shakes his head. "Thousand Bones and the rest of his tribe, the Skoan-Quah, tribe of the skull have all gone into the Cinderlands. They have been keeping the other tribe, the Sklar-Quah, calmed in peace talks, but since they went back home and word about Korvosa's weakened state has reached out, the Sklar-Quah are planning a mass attack on Korvosa to take their land back." she states this and Neolandus joins in at this point.
"I was going to try and contact Thousand Bones, hoping he could help but if this is true, then you will have to travel to his tribe's homeland, do you know where it is?"

Trinia thinks for a moment, but then nods definantly.
"Yes, it is known as the Kallow Mounds, east of Kaer Maga in the Cinderlands." she states this and Neolandus nods and gives a smile to the grou.
"Good, when I met him I could tell he was level-headed and understood the people here now are not those guilty for taking their land. He also wanted peace more than anything for his people and the citizens of Korvosa so I doupt he's given that dream up." as Neoalndus speaks about him, those of you who met the man remember him being very calm, even in the face of the death of his own people in the street from the chaos. He did not cast any judgement upon you and appeared very perceptive for a blind man. He even remained calm as you brought the body of Gaekhen, thanking you and leaving with the peices so that he could properly send him to the afterlife.

The easiest way to get to the Cinderlands is to travel through Kaer Maga. It's not too safe, but it's faster and safer that way then trying to navigate up and over mountains." she explains as Trinia seems to know a bit about the lay of the land.

Curnach:

Zellara whispers into your mind.
"I see bad things in the future, but the path through the Cinderlands is far safer than the city." she makes sure to remind you. "I wish to do a reading and tell you all of the future you may come across. I sense great danger, but also safety too."

As she comes down the stairs you see that she is an attractive woman with short, flawless blond hair. Her learther armour clings to her lithe form. she has some pain marks on her face, but it doesn't marr her beauty. As soon as she sees the group she gives a broud smile.
"Curnach!" she cries out in joy as she runs to the druid and clasps onto him in a tight hug. "I've been hoping you'd come soon, but why are the rest of you here?" she asks looking to the group and then spotting Llyra she steps over her and stares in suspecion. "Who are you? A...friend of Curnach's?" she puts her hand out to shake as she asks this.

1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Sense Motive DC 27:

You get the sense that she put a emphisis on the word "friend" in somewhat a hopful manner. She is clearly no angry, though suspecious would be more obvious.

Vencarlo smiles to the group.
"I'll let you explain the situation to her. Me and Neolandus will head to the dwarven stronghold right away. I assume they can stay the night?" he asks his friend who nods

"Yes, just the one night. We'll be leaving early in the morning." he explains to the group.

Vencarlo nods, agreeing to this and Neolandus speaks up.
"Remember, the tribes who onces lived around the pyramid are in the Cinderlands. If there is a possibility they we can find someone who knows anything, that is the best place to look."

Trinia Sabor

You have a spare day to rest if you wish before heading out. This'll give you time to get to know people, probe Vencarlo and Jasan for details about their adventuring days, talk with Trinia and find out what happened to her and so on.

As you all manage to move on Trinia remains on the horse and looks down at Curnach not sure what to say.
"I'll contact you, some how. Please, don't get harmed by this plague. I...wish to repay you someday, all of you." she seems quite sad and wants to stay here, but knows that it's for the better to leave the city rarther than remain hidden inside it. As long as she was here the queen would be searching for her. The gate is in the distance and the security here seems very light compared to the number of guards by the gate where the boat was sunk.

Trinia approches the gate she stops and gets off the horse, grabbing Curnach by surprise and giving him a quick kiss on the lips before hopping back onto the horse. With the gate opened, the guards not seeming to suspect a thing and as she leaves town she takes one last long look back at curnach, kissing her hand and blowing it in his direction with a tear in her eye before urging the horse on forward to the town Vencarlo mentioned, Harse.

You all notice that there are beggers who appear to be contracting the illness, though now many they are still there and dotted around the city. In old Korvosa you remember hearing a louder, more potent caughing of symptoms of this disease, but so far most people seem perfectly healthy.

Trinia smiles shyly at Curnach as she puts the wig and hat back on.

"I guess I look kinda silly like this, huh?" she has her hands behind her back in a typical girly fashion and kicking the dust on the floor. "I...see you got my paining." she smiles up at him seeing how much better he looks now.

Yes- It was wonderful thank you. That wig and hat could not mask your beauty. Curnach says, the words not coming out nearly as smoothly as he had intended them to.

Even the women in my RP life want to change me, bah ;).

Women, can't live with them, can't live without them. :D

Sabina blushes, matching the red of the wig she's wearing. Even though it didn't come out as smoothly as he wanted, it was still very sweet to say such a thing which also embaressed her.

Sabina nods as she listens to Jerin to answer what she can.
"All I heard was the guard who claimed to see me poison the king had angered Sabina since he didn't tell her earlier and Sabina knocked him off the top of the castle. I saw the queen, but she said nothing. She just looked at me behind the bars and looking smug." she explains, though clearly didn't like the memory of being locked up."Let's get going." though she says that last part sadly as she looks as Curnach, not wanting to leave.

Jerin suddenly realises that this has all gone wrong. He believed that they would bring Trinia back to Croft and Croft would set her free when the truth was found out. She seemed too naive to be a killer, too young compared to the devil worshippers he had seen at the academy. There would be no justice for this young girl, not today. Jerin almost reaches back for his magic, to try and force Croft to free Trinia, but he knows if this goes wrong he would be a dead man within the hour and to be honest he knows he doesn't have the courage to try it...maybe one day he thinks to himself, I will avenge you!

He walks out of the room and walks over to Trinia's holding room, a guard tries to block his way, one stare from him as well as the hiss of a small dragon makes the guard think twice and he lets him pass, they did capture the girl after all...he speaks through the bars.
Trinia, I am sorry for what has happened to you, I believed by bringing you here the truth would set you free but it is not so. Look at me, allow me to cast this spell on you...it will give us certainty of your story! assuming she agrees, charm person, The queen will soon force you to tell lies, but tell me my friend before she can twist the truth, how did you poison the king? I will be sure that the resistance has its revenge and your name is spoken in the annals in the history of a free Korvosa!
Basically trying to get her to tell an story of her betrayal so that Jerin knows the truth for himself...

Trinia nods as she listens to him, knowing that she is to be taken to the castle and most likely publicly executed when the queen demanded it. She nods to you, allowing you to cast the spell but still had years in her eyes.

"I did not poison the king. I was at the castle to paint his portrait as he was getting weaker with age and one of his men suggested me to the king." she sighed deeply as she looks down at the floor and then up at you trying to recover. "I just spent my time alone with the king, painting his likeness and then leaving once the painting was finished and my services were no longer needed." she shook her head as she hung it low and looked at the floor of her cell.

"I don't know why people are saying these things about me. I never touched his food the entire time I was there." at this she looks at you pleedingly, but knows that you can't release her. "The only poison I ever saw was that glare the queen gave me whenever I visited the castle, but I get that a lot being blessed with these looks." for a moment she gave a small, sad smile to you.

As Arianna wraps her cloak around the woman, she pulls a wand out from undre her skirt and touches it to the young girl, healing some of her wounds.
Cure light wounds: 1d8+1

DM Aron, any results from Ari's Sense motive check?

Trinia appears to have healed up a bit. The earlier damage hardly hurt her it seemed and she smiles lightly towards you.

"Thank you." she whispers softly.

Arianna:

She doesn't appear to be hiding anything when she talked to you about not commiting the crime. Her eyes still appear a bit wet from the crying in fear, afraid of being handed in to the city guard.

Skender:

Ahh, yeah very true I forgot that. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Also you should've taken 1d6 falling damage as I rolled earlier for how many feet she fell (and stuck with that because it would be silly for the hight to change) and she negated that due to her feat, Shingle runner. It would've been 1d6 for her otherwise but the feat negates a single 1d6 from falling damage.

She appears harmed, but remains still as he does not wish to fight against you, especially as you are all so close to her and there is no way to escape.
"Please, I didn't harm the king. Just...just hide me or something like he said." she nudges in the direction of Jerin.

Jerin wrote:

Ms. Sabor, if you are innocent you have nothing to fear from us. We are not the Queens guard or the mob, but we do seek justice and truth in this matter, we are going to take you to a safe location. Do not try to escape or we will presume you are guilty as charged and we will have to deal with you as such. Remember you can't outrun my spells and I can expose you to that spell again if necessary.

We will certainly search her to make sure she has no weapons or other means of escape and then try to get her back to Croft as quickly as we can. I will also cast detect magic on her and remove any items that show as magical except for armor.

Skender:

No idea what spell that was you did but I think you did inflict light wounds, correct? That'll be a DC 14 for her to resist half the damage.1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

At Jerin's words Trinia calms down slowly, holding back her tears and nodding at what he says.
"As long as it's safe, not the guards. They'll take me and execute me." she says nervously, scared at what might happen to her.

You find she has a masterworked dagger, wearing a mithral chain under her cloths (magical), a magic wand, a potion of some strange liquid (magical), two bronze bracelets and a bronze nacklace. She doesn't appear to have anything of value or notice on her.

After Jerin's spell end she stops laughing and begins to cry sobbing loudly.
"Please, don't hurt me I didn't kill the king it's a set up!" she claims loudly, struggling against her bonds "Just let me go or take me somewhere safe. I didn't kill the king and I don't want to die for something I didn't do. Please..." she pleads to you all as she looks up at you all, helplessly.

Anyone going to search her like you usually search the bodies you make?

DM:

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Hearing what Curnach said she begins to make a dash for it whilst drinking a strange liquid from a potion bottle and continues to run recklessly across the roof.

The Shingles Chase

As far as I've been able to get of the rules so far, Trinia and the PCs make inititive checks to see who goes first. I will be using cards as the AP suggests, but put them on Maptool so all you can see how close you are to her. 15 cards in total you all start on card 1 and she starts on card 4.

You can choose to either move 1 card where you automatically avoid any and all hazards or try moving 2 or 3 cards but take a risk which you must do a acrobatics check for something like jumping from roof to roof or climbing a drain pipe, exciting stuff like that. I'll give you DCs for what options you have on the cards. (Atleast I think this is how it's done, I have most of it down.)

To Win:If a character ends his turn on the same card as Trinia, he may attempt a single CMB check to grab and restrain her. Once Trinia is pinned, unconscious, or killed, the chase ends. Also, if Trinia manages to move off of card 15, the chase ends.

Okey so clear as mud? Well if Jerin's plan, whatever it is works we probably won't have to do it lol.

MAP

The Pseudodragon nods, Majenko flies over to her and uses his stinger on her which hits her in the shoulder and
attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
damage: 1d3 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1

Fort save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 vs DC 14

She appears to rub off the effect of poison and continues on.

Trinia is on Initive 14. Not sure how it's worded but I assume it's done in rounds.
