I Wrote up a npc in my homebrew setting that is a pirate captain and a were-sperm whale.

The setting assumes that the campaign is E6, and the npc is intended to be capable of taking on a party of 4+ lvl 6 characters.

I already have the animal form down pat.

My main issue is the hybrid from and his bonuses in human form.

Hes a 6th lvl barbarian with the sea reaver archetype (im thinking the custom template would be a +4 cr rating for a total cr of 10).

The template is the result of a curse that he gained from the will of the sea (the sea itself is sentient , think old margreve) due to his immense cruelty towards all that fly over , sail on or swim under the blue.
He has 3 pirate fleets under his belt that he leads through fear and is a major antagonist in the region.

only problem is i havent quite yet made this template and i would like some advice / involvement in the process =).

Ive been writing a campaign where the players play as characters in a virtual world how would you guys do this?
The setting is a simple one it takes place on earth and the year is 2032.
The players are playing as people who are trapped in the mmo unable to log out or forcibly remove the vr machine (or else it will microwave their brain) in addition if their character dies they will also die (once again the hardware will malfunction and zap their brain).

How would you guys implement some of the functions common to a mmo, like Instant messages a basic user interface and the like?

As for certain skills i was thinking of tying in a panel above monsters that would reveal detailed information on a successful knowledge check or a personal interface panel that would appear infront of the player (a pokedex type deal).

Could i summon a giant crab spider via the spider summoner racial feat.
And then milk it for its venom (using a jar with a bit of canvas stretched over the top) to be used by the party Archer-fighter (whos also a drow) .

I had to cancel my subscription today .

The thought was painful but the act was made easy and im stunned.

The customer service is awesome even with something like cancelling my subscription it was courteous and to the point thats one of the reasons why i love paizo and that as soon as my financial situation improves im going to re-subscribe.

Something that normally takes a hour of frustration with other companies took a minute here.

i cant wait till im back on the sub =) .

I have heard that melee/ranged touch attacks count as weapons for the purpose of feats and abilities.

Can the arcane pool ability be applied to a melee or ranged touch attack granting it a damage + attack bonus and or any special properties .

also could i take weapon specialization in touch attacks?

I am making a solo campaign for a friend of mine set in a arabian/egyptian like setting i decided to make him a gestalt character , introduce hero points and use a 20 point buy .

He said he wants to be a Rogue/Magus , i want to give him challenges on par with that of a group of 3-4 (stuff that you would see sinbad fighting , cyclops, Roks , mummies , avatars of gods etc things that are heavily rooted in arabic/ Egyptian culture).

He is new to the 3.5/pathfinder experience but is a capable gamer .
That being said he wants me to make the character for him , how should i make his character so he is on par with a group of 3 without resorting to gimicky tricks and is capable of surviving lofty challenges like that of the movies of old.

Im Basically asking for you nice optimizers out there to do your worst.

I dont want to hold back or cheapen his first experience by heavily fudging every npc stat block .

I am going to be running a story driven campaign soon where the main antagonist is a CE Bard / Fallen angel who was stripped of his wings and knowledge of the holy tongue , forced to walk the earth forever as punishment for his sin of composing a song superior to the creators hymm sung by all the angels (when he and his orchestra sung this song it sparked a emotion that was once unknown to the other angels "envy" and this sparked a war between the angels ) , his goal is to spite the creator by proving him wrong and turning his children from his love and corrupting the divine spark in every living being .

He is followed by other fallen angels who partook in his orchestra ( the story equivalent of robot masters from megaman )

The party consists of 3 players all undecided as to what they are going to play .

Any advice for making this demonic bard who crushes minds and corrupts souls with naught but his voice?

Im about to play in a Gestalt campaign and i really dug the idea of a Grenadier and i just want to check a few things.

The alchemist has no penalties from armor correct ? (nothing like failure chances for extracts and etc)

Does weapon training throwing apply to splash weapons?

Can i get weapon specialization feats for splash weapons?

Thinking about being a gnome for extra bombs per day (favored class) and the increased bomb lvl.

Its Just soo cool imagining a Gnome in plate with a Blast shield Chucking Bombs , imbibing potions and being a menace .

and with all the free feats ill be able to pick up multiples of the extra bombs feat to make sure i wont be running out of juice.

Im already preparing red poker chips with black skulls to use as bomb tokens .

Does a ability /feat (im looking at you varisian tattoo) allow the caster to cast a spell that the ability effects a number of times per day as if he was at the next level (an example is a magus with a varisian tattoo of evocation not including bonus spells from int would he be able to cast the same ammount of evocation spells as a 2nd lvl magus 1 spell, 1 evocation spell as opposed to only 1 spell at 1st level.

i saw a pregen character (seoni) from rise of the runelords who had 5 1st lvl spells per day ( 3+1 bonus from high charisma is standard) i was scratch my brain as to where the 5th came from and i thought that it would make sense if her caster lvl increase enabled her to cast 1st lvl spells as if she was a 2nd level sorcerer thus getting the extra spell per day.

also if this is true does increases to caster level stack.

could i theoretically be able to play a pyromaniac gnome sorcerer with a varisian evoc tattoo and at 4th level be able to cast 6 2nd level spells (3 normally, 1 cha bonus , 1 fire descriptor , 1 evocation) basically the warhammer bright wizard of pathfinder albeit much shorter .

if so thats nasty 7 burning hands , 6 scorching rays = a blasting sorc if i ever saw one .

Im trying to provide broad and general consensus on what players want from the magus class in a albeit eclectic fashion.

This is a discussion thread where players will post a thing they like about the Magus class (if any) a thing they dislike about the magus class (if any) and a thing they would like to be changed or added (once again if any) .

Discussions will be introverted meaning that in order to debate you have to post a like dislike and desired change /addition that defends your standpoint rather than a direct response (to maintain progression and make sure that the thread isnt locked on one discussion and keeps moving)

The goal is to have numerous replies from different people posting their 3 opinions .

If multiple people post then eventually one or two points will match and hopefully this will aid paizo in making a decision based on what the players and consumers desire.
