I recently introduced a couple of friends to PACG and they enjoyed it enough to start up a weekly game night for us to play through Rise of the Runelords. They are playing of Amiri (SMASH!) and Seoni (BLAST!), and I am playing Lem to support, heal, and advise as they learn the nuances of the game.

We are all having a great deal of fun, and our Amiri is an artist, so she has started sketching humorous incidents from our games each week. I was going to just post the images here, but it seems the bbs does not support posting images, so I started a tumblr, Amiri & Friends, to host the collected art from our game. If you are interested in checking it out, you can find it here:

Enjoy!

I was excited to find a ranged-based Merisiel in the character deck that gets a big boost using strength-adding bows... right up until I discovered there was only two in the deck, and one of them was a Weapon 6. :( A few more of those would be useful for her, and I'm sure for Imrijka and other range-based characters.

Thanks for the great experience this weekend, everyone! The open was a great challenge, a ton of fun, and I'm now in love with Talitha. (PLAYING Talitha. Playing. Ahem.)

And YES CRIMSON THRONE. Keith, that campaign was one of the first I thought of that would be a great setting for this after I learned they were making new boxes for the ACG. That will be amazing! All hail Blackjack!

I've seen PFS and Starfinder events up on the GenCon event catalog now, but nothing for ACG. Are there not going to be any ACG events this year? That's been basically my whole weekend the past few years, I'd hate to see it go!

I have a similar, but slightly different question:

Is it worth attending for someone who is primarily only interested in playing ACG? I play the RPG, but mostly only in home games and don't have much interest in RPG OP/Society games. But I lerrrrve me some Adventure Card Game. Will there be enough going on in that corner to make it worth coming for all four days? Or at all? Would love feedback from both previous attendees and event scheduling coordinators.

Thanks!

Yes. Yes, it is.

You will have the opportunity to play all weekend in both sanctioned events as well as pick up games. Also, you will have the chance to talk with the fine folks who make the game.I know of at least one person who has gone to Paizo Con and all he plays is the card game.

Another bonus is the chance to play "in development" scenarios or other games before they are released to the general public.

I noticed your lack of interest in OP RPG Pathfinder. Are you aware of the OP for the Adventure Card Game? You may want to give this a try if you decide to attend the con. The OP card game has a very dedicated group of folks who play. I had the chance to get to know a few at GenCon this past summer. Their excitement and love for the game was evident. Give it a try.

Thanks for the advice. We are very aware of the Card Guild, we play weekly. :) We just wanted to make sure there would be enough ACG content and activities to be worth coming. Sounds like it will be fun, thanks!

I'm glad Liz's entry led things off, since Jirelle is CLEARLY the best dressed character in PACG.

BUT. I thoroughly object to there being a discussion about best hats and there being no mention of Imrijka. I mean, come on. LOOK. AT. IT.

Joyous news! https://jenis.com/blog/514-update/

Now I can have my two favorite Origins things: ACG and Jeni's ice cream!

Can't wait! May have to cancel some other event tickets to come play!

YAAAASSS. Cannot wait for this! I'd assume both from the chatter above and the content of the original seven that each new deck will have a new version of their iconic characters. Whoohoo!

I hope the new Sajan is more weapon-oriented, since the temple sword in the minis set is otherwise a bit of disappointment compared to the usefulness of the other cards packaged with the minis. :S

Looking forward to another great year! So tempted to volunteer, but it would cut into valuable playing time! Decisions, decisions.
