Sandru was bred to be an experimental subject. As such he was born in captivity, raised mostly indoors and had very little contact with the real world. This has caused him difficulty relating to others and in understanding civilized concepts.

Physically, he is an excellent specimen... with a keen perception and animal cunning. In essence, he was bred for war from his uncanny observation, understanding of machinery, his innate toughness to his exaggerated toothy jaw.

There was a tussle one night, someone had broken into the laboratory and freed all the captives, including him. He ran, but as he looked back on the old house... it collapsed and began to burn.

He heard a voice calling for help, then from within the flames. He recognized it as the individual who had freed him. Dashing back into the burning blaze he found them. And, lifting a great burning wooden beam... he heaved and freed them, helping them out of the inferno.

Since, they'd become companions. Each compensating for the other.
