Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

Guys, I am going to be dropping from the campaign. I enjoy Planescape, and I am active on the boards. But I am having a really hard time keeping myself involved in this particular group. I think part of it, is that spelling, grammar and pbp emphasis using italics and bold words are important to me. Also, I am having a hard time aligning the story with Pain's philosophy towards pathfinder rules, so I don't think that makes me a very good match for this group. For instance a bow has a crit range of 20, not 19-20. Its a minor thing, but a good example of something that drives me crazy. Really I am sorry, because I wanted to really like this campaign. I was really excited when we started. I though about this for a few days, trying to figure out if I could stick it out, but I decided that I was not a good fit, and wanted to let you all know in the open, rather then PM Pain.

Sorry, been crazy busy last few days (Fantasy Football starting) Should post tomorrow.

Pain how far are the "targets" away?

"Indeed" Replies Revial in a melodious voice. "Still, I suspect they shall come to us, rather then we shall need to come to them."

Do we need to re-roll init? Or is this considered the same encounter?

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

@Pain: I don't think the troops would get an attack of oppertunity due to them not threatening the giant. It should only be people within melee distance, or who ever has reach.

"Really? REALLY?! Well this just keeps getting better. For Celestia's sake I AM A ARCHITECT not a fighter! This was a bad contract, very very bad!"

Already with his bow already in hand, Revial ceases his ranting, and draws back and lets fly with two arrows at large fungus like creature.

The queen? This is far more then the terms of the contract!

"A knight? I n all fairness cannot claim membership in a knightly order. Though perhaps you could say that I am a champion of law and order." Then turning back to the child queen Revial takes a knee. "Your majesty, as visitors to your realm and as the lawful sovereign of said realm, it would be my pleasure to assist you in your exodus."

Hey guys! Going on a work trip this week, i'll be on the forums, but using a iPhone. so my actions won't be as in depth as I would like. Should have full access to my computer by Friday.

"Your right Grune, it could be a trap." Revial will take to the sky's as part of a normal move, hovering 40' off the ground. Keeping an arrow ready to fire.

"We need to act quickly, we can not let that spell happen. Who knows what is waiting on the other side."

Revial will Cast Bless on the group and [i]Aid[i] on himself.

If the sky is as dangrous as stated then we will have to go overland. I say we move towards the lizard riders as fast as possible, thoughts?"

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"Hrm, well this does lead to entanglments, but being as these druids are not part of the leadership caste. I think legally we can act. To the south I suppose."

Hey guys, I am still here, but its the weekend, and I am quite busy. I'll be able to post again, longer tomorrow.

Agree with Grune. Haveing Metalbeart smash two of them as he fell from the celing helped alot.

Pain, I would still have detect evil running Who were the 4 sources of evil in the room and what strength are they?

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"Yes, well perhaps your right Brehna. I can detect several evil Aura's that way." *points to the kitchen* "Better acquainting ourselves with the surroundings is not the worse of ideas. We really aren’t prepared for a protracted fight here, too little cover and the building looks like it's ready to collapse" Knowledge (engineering) / Profession (architect)

Pain, how old does this building appear to be, and can I attempt to use my knowledge of architectural cultural styles to better identify this prime world we are on?

"Female minotaur's begging, human males and children speaking in Elven? What a odd combination, I can find no logic in this pattern. I'll need more factors. Well, at least this is a Prime and not some crazy demi-plane eh?" Looks around at the general surroundings Perception and Detect Evil (At Will). "But I agree with you Grune, our contractual obligations were quite clear. Hold for twenty four hours and then exit the plane. I see no reason to endanger the expedition. On the other hand there was nothing explicitly limiting us to explore said plane, but that’s not my call to make. What does everyone else think?"

Looking at Metalbeard and Grune, Revial sighs "Right then, blindly walking into a portal. Hopefully there's Air on the other side. Or no Rust Monsters eh Metal?" Mmmm, The Plane of Rust. I'll have to look into that. The Sinkers would pay good clink for a portal to there Revial then nocks two arrows to his bow and steps though. "See you on the other side." I hope...

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"One moment please, my good man. Page 17 of the contract stated we are obligated to fully document the portal, its discovery and subsequent exploration. I won't have our employer skating out of our payment via some loophole. Let me just take a few notes of the area, color and any other distinct markings for prosperity." Revial withdraws a ornate golden ink pen and notebook and begins to sketch the portal, with directions, key and other notes before closing the journal and replacing it back into the satchel. "All done, but now that I think about it Medalbeard, do you have some sort of image replicator? Photographic documentation is always a fantastic resource..." Revial pauses and looks up and down at the rogue Modron before dubiously continuing. "And would I have to load you with paper?Cough And if so where? Anyhow I met our documentation requirements, we may proceed"

Thanks Grune, a fork just made sense, and things *do* tend to follow in three's in planescape multiverse.

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

Well, let's see. Logically if we have a Knife and a Spoon, then what we are missing a "fork"! "Brehna, see if you can find any outcropping that look like a fork, logically it is the most likely entrance to a portal! Never forget the rule of three, it’s the one law that reigns over all others." Revial takes to the air over the glassy black island looking for a "fork" like outcropping hoping that the location we seek will be more visible from the air.

Right then, best to make yourself useful Revial. Moving towards the boat Revial fishes into his bag and withdraws a 50' rope. "I'll tie it off the bow. Once I am in the air I can help pull the craft into the water. Statistically it should increase our movement by a factor of 1/5."

Fly Check1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

Revial grimaces at Bastille's words. Odious woman! turning back to the witch he retorts. "I have excellent hearing Bastille, and nothing in the contract specifies a time limit on entering into a portal, believe me, I was sure to check. If you have nothing constructive to add I suggest we come to a decision as to reaching the knife. I see a number of options. If anyone has the ability to levitate I can fly them over one at a time. I believe a rope is a poor idea due to the potential reach of the beast. Teleportation is of course is an option. Lacking these option, overwater travel would be the next option. Hrm, We could also attempt to feed the best some sort of high-grade sedative, but that could be potentially tricky due to the crowd. Now," Glaring back at Bastille "Does anyone have anything useful to add?"

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"Hrm, I wonder if the event organizer remembered to file the necessary paperwork for a public event? Hopefully everyone here also registered for class Q aquatic magical planar beast hunting licenses. I suppose we can all sort that out after we slay the beast, Just one moment let me see if I have any..." As a man gets flung though the air by a tentacle Revial hardly looks up. Finally after he as removed several steel cabinets his satchel he begins digging into one. You can see that it has been crammed with sheaf's of paper bearing signatures, stamps, seals and other various methods of authentication. "Ah yes, here we are, licenses! Hanging, Horses... Ah Hunting! Fantastic! I am upto date on my tags for this season. We may proceed." Revial then carefully places the document back into the steel cabinet and places the cabinets back into his satchel. Then methodically he put the satchel back on, strings his bow, knocks two arrows and begins to Flap his wings. "I'll provide support from the air, and try to stay out of reach of the tentacles. If it goes below the surface. It will be physically unlikely that I'll be able to retaliate, logically speaking. Let me know when you are ready. Oh and don’t worry" Revial exclaims in complete earnestness "The tag is good for another month!"

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"Let me see the document." Revial reaches into the satchel at his side and removes a set of gold rim glasses and delicately puts them on. "Well I see several odd clauses and sub writs within the contract." Revial takes a deep breath. "First off there are significant typo's on page 3, 8, 14, and 26 as well as irrevent clause pertaining to insubstantial planar boundaries between the plane of dust and water. See Sigil writ PB-YH13 for a previous declared ruling on said plane of "Ooze" I also see that upon signing said contract, any and all property rights and or writ of claim is to explored planes gained via access of given keys is null and void on the part of the actuators, then there is the matter of deaths in said planes, and subsequent retrieval of corpses. No right over recovery of said corpse(s) have been listed in the underwritten contract. Aside from that, I would like the contract to specific that we individuals are acting independent of any previously established organization, group(s) or associations and are acting on behalf of the "executor" of said contact as "free agents"? If all of that is acceptable I will be happy to sign, as acting under my own will, on this the 3rd day of Sornach. Eh this is a normal temporal sub-plane yes? Right then, the 3rd Day of Sornach."

Profession (lawyer) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14 I would like to find or write in any clauses into the contract giving a bonus to the party upon successful exploration of the first plane.
Edit: Yea, guess not.

"If all of the changes are acceptable, I will be happy to sign and notarize. Three copies yes? One for you, one for us and one to be held by a 3rd neutral party? Excellent. Sign here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, And initial there."

Lets do some plane diving!

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

Pain, I feel like I should have Knowledge: Law as as skill, however theres no actual way I was able to get it. Any suggestions?

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

"Yes, let us speak of commissions" the brown haired man chimes in. "This is quite odd, quite odd in deed. When the paperwork was brought to my firm and the letter spoke of hiring, I had quite expected something different of the nature. To be frank, I am not sure why I was brought here. I deal in buildings, portal licensing and zoning restrictions for the greater Sigil areas of the Foundry and Lower Ward, not redecoration" At that, the brown haired celestial starts rifling though a satchel at his side and getting out various contacts and paperwork. Still, I can be flexible, so what exactly are you considering? A neo-arboretum update, or perhaps a retro-beastlands? I can see your into Chi and Fung-Sui, but really, this whole Quasi-Celestial Royal Dynasty theme has got to go." With that Revial begins to withdraw several blueprints and design plans out of a long tube.

And you my metal friend. To answer your previous question, yes am a member of the Fraternity of Order. Should you need any contracts witnessed, documents notarized or marriages recorded... Revial pauses trying to remember any applicable laws between the marriage between an organic and metallic being. I'll get back to you on that last one. Anyhow hrm, let me see if I brought my stamp along. And with that Revial goes back to shifting though his small satchel. "Oh yes, here it is!" Revial exclaims as he pulls forth a golden notarization stamp, brandishing it.

"And you Mr. Tippy Toes. Before we go any further, I'll need to see a contract, in triplicate."

So you know how monsters sometimes have inherent class levels? That’s kind of how I imaged Revial to be, his abilities as a archer / fighter are largely inherent due to him being the progeny of a powerful celestial rather than any real work on his part. Sure he’s good with a bow, but hey, Sigil needs its architects too.

Male Half-Celestial Human (Outsider) Fighter 5

Thats what it looks like.

"Hold now! This is a licensed establishment, and you have willfully and knowing threatened the proprietor. In accordance with Sigil Writ TK-421 Subsection 4, Clause b: you are warned to cease, and desist, place your weapons on the ground and wait for the local Harmonium enforcer. If a local Harmonium enforcer is not available due to, fire, portal or act of god(s) I as a Faternity of Order Factor, have the legal right and obligation to act. DO YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR RIGHTS!"

With that the Celestial, sweeps his bow out from his back, and coolly knocks two arrows at the same time. Now I know what you're thinking, can he really fire two arrows at the same time? Well let me tell you that this is a 110lb draw bow, with etched arrowheads forges in the fires of Ghenna and it could put a shaft right into your head, so you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky" Well, do ya, punk?"

"Is this 1131 Hell Scream Lane?" A rich melodic voice announces. 'If it's not, I'll have some harsh words with the with the local survey administrator! Matching the holier than thou voice, you can see the visage of a well made man as he steps down the stairs to the inn with sure steps as if he is entitled to the entire street itself. The being has white wings, dark brown hair and golden armor, he has a rich narwal wood bow and on his back and a well made quiver with a sheaf silver arrows strapped to his back.

The man looks around the bar, and somehow finds the only stool in the bar that seems to be absent of dust and detritus. "Innkeeper bring me a menu and be quick about it!" Glancing around for the first time the man almost seems to radiate golden light.

Great, some sort of celestial you can't help but think. The only thing worse than a righteous angel is an inept demon.

Pain, I built this character off a very similar one from a very old 2.0 DnD Planescape I made years ago, perhaps the background is a little weird, but hey, its Sigil right?

Requested Information:

One contact name – why – and what they are? Revial has been known to call on his longtime friend and confidant Ramos the Mongrel when situations arise. Ramos a Hound Archon from the golden plains of Elysium occasionally works as a bounty hunter and a man catcher for the Harmonium and Fraternity of Order.

One enemy – who any why? They say that the worst betrayals are those closest to the heart. In this case the betrayal would be Nesia Varnos, Revial’s sister. Where Revial loved the perfection of law, Nesia saw the chains of oppression. It began at first, slowly over time. A chance word here, a disagreement there. But slowly, the void began to widen between the sibling bonds. You would think that children born with the blood of the divine in their veins would have the predilection towards forgiveness. Rather, their inherent righteousness drove them on other paths. Nesia, has not been seen by Revial since he discovered that she had joined the Anarchists. Since then, every building accidently destroyed in a fire, or collapsed by a freak portal that Revial has built, he has has laid at her feet. With her love of destruction, she should have joined the Doomguard.

Something you care about, and why? Revial has been a longtime member of the Fraternity of Order. Working primarily as an Architect of buildings, Revial sees the strength of stone and mortar as a physical representation of Law and Order. Where the sinkers would see entropy and decay, Revial sees the power or mathematical laws that define reality

A place for everything:

The smog was heavy as usual in the foundry district, beggars and cut-purses rife in the streets cat-calling for clipped shillings from berks and bloods alike. ”Cop’per Guv’ner?” mewed a dirty wretch, hand outstretched to Revial.

Shouldering his way thru the crowd, Revial, tall, proud and righteous turned to the beggar ”A copper hrm? Well, perhaps but first let’s see your papers. You do have the proper writ of beggary, and your guild accreditation, yes? No, well that’s a shame. Pray, how many coppers do you have there? Fifteen! As it so happens the fine for begging without accreditation is nine coppers on a first offence. I’ll be happy to take that from you, or you could discuss it with a Harmonium officer.”

Pocketing the coins, Revial, smiled turning away. Berks always assume when they see the white wings that you are some paragon of virtue and kindness, pff more fool them! Right there was the difference between a berk and a blood, Revial though. Don’t trust the obvious. Law, order and discipline, these were the watchwords that Revial devoted his life to not some foolish notion as selflessness and charity. Patting his pocket, Revial nodded to himself. “I’ll have to make sure I get this to the Fraternity ledgers.” Content with himself, and the small amount of order he had imposed Revial continued on his way. Everything in its place, and a place for everything.
