I finally got around to updating the Modern Path: Arcana pdf. So you can re-download it from where you got it. Next is updating the Hero Lab d20pro files.

Building on the foundations of the Modern Path: Heroes of the Modern World. To compliment the Modern Hero class, there are new feats, traits, trainings, & difficulties; along with new magical Archetypes to customize the spell caster that you want to play! Finishing up the new updated arcana pdf, should be out next week. It needed a lot of work, but should be good to go. BTW - It'll be a free update.

For us, I think our datasets is our main selling point. I do not have a background in writing, art, or programing (as many of yall have seen, lol). But, I was able to put together datasets when we released our material and it helped promote it. To be fair, our datasets are free, but that is because I kind of enjoy putting them together. It's kind of like a puzzle and it also keeps me busy and out of trouble, lol. But it is a lot of work and can be very frustrating without help. Again the HL community and HL staff are very willing to help you out and point you in the right direction.
We want to say good luck and happy to help out if you wish. We kind ran into the same issues with classes and AC. Some people like "xyz" and dislike "abc". So we kind did both, a customizable base class and archetypes for the other classes. I even got the old prestige classes working in Hero Lab. So hopefully we had all the class options coved. But as you will see, it's difficult to cover everything. We also started with DR for armor, but as it became an optional rule in the PDSRD, we just went back to the basic AC bonus and let the user decide what they want. We also have had a lot of requests for a future setting, but really it's too much material to cover by us. I was looking at the Future MSRD the other day and it covers a lot and it might help you out a bit. I think it was a good set of "generic" rules for a future setting. I really like the PL levels to help keep things a bit organized. Again, good luck and looking forward to it!
Yep, everything we do is also done with Hero Lab support. We are all kind in the same boat. With everyone's busy lives, Hero Lab, PCGen, d20Pro and other software saves a lot of time and keeps everyone on the same page. You are right, it is almost "a must have" today. But it takes a lot of time and work, especially if you don't have a background in programing. So it tends not to be cost effective. I am able to keep up our data files and I also try to include other's that are related to the setting. Because I know it's just not something everyone can afford to hire someone to do. You just kind of have to "DIY" when you can find the time. It's just not something many 3pp can afford or have time to do. So we all kind just have to help each other out when we can. With the editor in HL, if you are doing a simple input with the editor, it's fairly strait forward and not too bad. But, if you are doing something that requires a "script", it can get tricky. What I do is look around for something already scripted that is similar and try to modify it to what I need. Also the HL forums has great support and many people that are willing to help out. Modern Path - Hero Lab update should be out this weekend. It's all done, I just need to go over a few small things and get a few more bugs out.

Yep, we do have a lot of other OGL modern data include with the Modern Path - Hero Lab files. We hope it helps support the other modern material out there, and the users alike. Our goal is to just get the ball rolling for a modern Pathfinder setting. We are way too small to do everything everyone wants. So we have tried to provide the basic framework in the hopes that others can fill in the blanks to what they want. So far it seems to be doing ok. The Hero Lab files take a lot of time, (I'm not a programmer) and good ol' dartnet helps us out with the MSRD files and he is a blessing. So we will get to other modern related material into Hero Lab and d20pro datasets. Just takes some time. And of course, it is always will be free, but please support the other 3pp material. The more support they get, the more material that will be made for everyone to enjoy.

Yea, looks like a typo, it's 30. Sorry about that. It's meant for any power level you want for your game. I guess I should have included this in there also. You can base it on just the ranks or the ranks and bonuses, depending on what you want.
IDK, I haven't seen anything. Might ask on the Hero Lab forum to see if anyone has done any of it. http://forums.wolflair.com/forumdisplay.php?f=62 That really is how the Modern Path got started. I was doing a MSRD file for Hero Lab and it kind of grew into a set of rules.
Some of it is fairly straight forward and not too rough. d20Pro, seems very easy to do, but I'm just starting. But so far, not hard at all, mostly just adding txt. Hero Lab, it depends on what you are doing. Once you learn the basics of the editor, it can go very easy if you are just adding simple things. The challenging issues come when you need to create a script to have something do something. I am not a programmer, so it is a bit difficult to figure out what to do. I usually will search the forum for something similar. Let me know if you need any help.
Just one hex per training is what I meant it to be. I think otherwise it would be too much.
We wanted to keep it versatile as possible, everyone has their own style and rule system they would like. For me I would say yes the Angel could then take the "Shared Precision" or any other ability as long as the other pre-req (ie. min level, skills, etc) are met. Keeping it open also mean the GM has to approve what is ok for the players to use. This also opens up the availability to use many other 3pp rules and systems. I hope that helps.

Working on files for d20Pro with Hero Lab output. Still kind of buggy, but usable.
