Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

hehe, thanks for the round 2. I've been on an Ipod and its been hard to post regularly during the holdiay. The only thing I would change is that, as I have the deflect arrows feat, the bolt would be deflected rather than hit me. (Unless of course I am considered flat-footed against it or unaware)
Gin makes his way down the the isle looking for traps, trying to get to the two gremlins that tired to take a shot at him.
Assuming that he is close enough (which I doubt as they just barely came into view, unless they are chargeable):
Attack1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Unlucky Reroll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

hey so I'm not going to have computer access for about the next 72 hrs (travel). I just figured I'd let you all know.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Sorry, yeah this wasn't showing up and the craziness of the season isn't doing me any favors either.

Gin slips carefully down the stairs and over to P13.
Acrobatics if I need it: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
roll 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

If we can't decide on what to do, we may want to just sneak through the spikes, they wont be expecting us to know about them

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

true, the deepsight variant (lose darkvision 60 ft and get underwater darkvision 120 ft) makes more sense for them. Honestly, the biggest reason I didnt switch it out was because I felt that it would basically throw away darkvision as I doubt we will be swimming very much if at all. Though if you would feel it would be more inline with the character I'll switch it out

Gin, still unable to spot a pugwumpi, returns to the group and explains the situation in the room ahead. Couldnt see where they had gone. Though it seems that they've barricaded themselves in the next room with a few traps: spike pits and the like. Best not rush in there unless you feel like having a new piercing. If people are willing to make the jump, there are some holes on the roof we might fit through, though I'm uncertain how far a drop it is. No windows either so the only light are the dim stars shining through the holes. If this wasn't a temple I'd say smoke 'em out but as it is, I dont feel to keen on making a God angry...

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Wonderful, I have dark vision

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin looks at the cloth barrier. Uncertain of the safety of sticking his head in, Gin pulls out a shiruken and uses it to tear a small hole to look through the tapestry on the right hand side.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin nods curtly and, after seeing that everyone is taken care of, quietly begins his trek down the hall the pugwampis ran through.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

As much as I would love to smash them, I'll pass
Gin initially takes after the pugwampis but, seeing himself the only pursuer, stops and heads back to the group and help Tarin.
So yeah, I figure I basically wasted the round moving after them and then coming back. No sense in getting to far separated.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Shocked by the flames on an around his companion, Gin does his best to keep himself between the pugwampis and his burned compaion was looking at the rules and there really isnt a way for me to help put out your flames (though rolling on the ground will give you a +4 to put them out assuming you dont roll into the burning puddle.

Gin moves to O10 (unless someone gets there first) and takes a swing at the pugwampi
attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
attack:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
dmg:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Assuming one of the pugwampis that I can see shoots me, I'll use deflect arrows to negate it.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Wonderful. As the oil falls onto Tarrin and the floor, Gins skids around Tarrin trying to avoid knocking into him.
So yeah, I'll move through it
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Acrobatic: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Acrobatic: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

would my this movement be on this next round or would it just be a follow up from last round? I ask because Gin would not be keen to jump through fire, but if he was already part way in, he would continue as he would not want to abandon Tarin.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

I'll delay to go with Tarin and run around with him so as to potentially cut one of them completely off.
At Muqaq's words to persue, Gin races after Tarin to help him block off their escape

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

ah, good call. just thought you may have been popping on fast or posting from a phone
Seeing the pugwumpis run out of another door, Gin dashes out the north door in an attempt to block them off.
Move to R15 through the hall (or atleast as close as possible)

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

you may want to look at the map if possible, as it stands you are currently in the door way so if you only swing and do nothing else, we cant get through the door and hunt down the pugwumpis

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin swings wildly at the last baboon, a little frustrated at the things attempt to grab him:
Flurry1:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Flurry1:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Dmg:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Flurry2:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Flurry2:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Dmg:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin steps up to take muqaq's place
[ooc]no sure if I can do this, but I want to see if I can trip the baboon in my flurry of blows. I figure it may give mohgwier a better chance to break the grapple. If I can't it's not a big deal, I'll just flurry the baboon.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 +2 if I can trip
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

So just a heads up, I'm out of town for thanksgiving week. I'll try to post in the morning/evening, but if anything gets bottlenecked from me feel free to bot Gin. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

As soon as the word is given, Gin fires off 2 quick blows to brutish monkey.
Flurry
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Dmg
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Seeing the teeth, Gin looks at Mohgwier then slips quietly to U18 and mutters So, any ideas? sounds like we woke something up and I'd hate to see more of its friends if they are all as big as this guy.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 not that it matters being that it knows we are here

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

soooo, there would be atleast 1 change. I moved to t21. would that give me a better view into the room above the trash pile?

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin continues forward (t21) into the dark monastery, always on the alert, always muttering under his breath what he finds.

Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Well, we can scratch abandoned, something was here or or is here. Whatever it is, it'll have to pay for what its done to this temple

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin drops to a low wisper, Alright, I can check it out. Do you think we should clear the place room by room? from what I've seen it doesn't seem like anything would be living here.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Seeing the abandoned state of the temple and that it appears to be deserted of any creatures, Gin waves to the others in an attempt to get them to advance. Sorry, been busy today.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

South it is.
Slinging the equipment over his shoulder, Gin slinks away toward the southern wall of the temple. If the wall is less than 15 feet up to the window, I'll just Climb without the rope as the hook would make noise when it when through the window.
Stealth 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
(assuming I need to roll for throwing the rope with a hook and thats its improvised, thus the -4)1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 5 - 4 = 5
Climb 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

While I think that cover of dark is an excellent idea, have you all noticed how cold it gets at night?

Just a heads up, the average temperature at night in a desert sits at about 3 bellow Celsius.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

I thought about being quiet and seeing what would happen, then I thought, hmmm that could be bad

Well, I'll help where I can, I can be quiet when the need arises, and strong armed if necessary; and yes, though I wasn't fond of the brute, he was good in a fight. I agree that fighting on our terms will give us the best chance of survival.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

After nibbling on his share of scorpion and receiving some healing, Gin wanders over to what appears to be everyone who had joined up with the caravan to the North, So, whats the plan? Clearing out a temple?

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

oh, good, way to be on the ball with that Seif.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Lolz, now I'm kinda wishing I had a flowing monk instead of a monk of the empty hand, they lose the stunning fist, but get extra AC for every enemy around them.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

hey, gotta give him points for staying in character

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin nods politely in the direction of Muqaq and then Sati, Sounds like a plan. I've no complaints

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Looking down at his now red cloths, Gin smiles uncomfortably, We'll I'm alive, thats better than this thing can say.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

I'm with Muqaq actually, there is a rogue talent that lets you take a 5 ft step while prone. It takes a fair bit of talent to avoid getting attacked why under someones boot.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

at least you can shoot it, seems like most of our characters are a bit out of favor with these dice
As the Giant beast moves closer, Gin, taking a chance, shifts left and lets loose a few quick strikes into the beast side
5 ft step to F13 and flurry of blows
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

ah, good call, I wasn't entirely conscious when I wrote that. Well, Ill only be able to fire off one this round and it will be in the second range increment..
Shuriken attack 1d20 + 5 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 2 - 4 = 19
Crit confirm 1d20 + 5 - 2 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 2 - 4 = 14
Damage (if it confirms) 2d2 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6
Fort Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Edit: just realized I'm firing into a combat so there is a net -1 on each of those rolls (5-2-4)

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Seeing no easy way past the Scorpion, Gin takes a step back (G11) and flips out a few throwing stars.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

oooh, didnt know about the charging rule, but thats definitely cool to know, I wont be attacking in the surprise round though, I plan on getting set up so someone can flank him so I'll stick with the acrobatics, also, assuming the cactus in the picture isnt just for show, I'd have to do some acrobatics anyways.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Sorry about that, I'll move up on the side of the scorpion as best I can, as you can only do half a full round in a surprise round without a feat, That should be all that I can manage, but, I would like to get in as close as possible even if that provokes an AOO. F11, or 12 if I can reach it, is where I'm headed so I assume I need an acrobatics check as there is a cactus there. 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

awww, Seif, you gonna leave me in the dust with the last slot in the initiative?

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

lolz, I have a chain belt, but 10 feet of chain is hardly 60 ft of rope

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

DMStormwind:
ok, sorry about that. I'll keep that in mind for the future. I think I'll just wait for the little bugger to come down.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

[ooc]ok I was just trying to thing of different ways to use what I can to actually do something, also its not super big but wouldnt most of the group be outside of the unlucky aura? He is 15 feet up and his unluck aura is only a 20 ft radius. so at the very least I would think Zerakias would be out of the area because of his little fall. Unless there are more of the little buggers hidden somewhere...[/occ]

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

just out of curiosity, would I be able to use my belt as a whip? I know that it would definitely be an improvised weapon, but I dont think I can really do anything else in this fight. I thought it might be funny to either disarm him or actually manage to wrap a part of him in the chain and rip him off his little pedestal

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

Gin flicks out another shuriken and throws it at our angry friend.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
1d2 ⇒ 2
lolz, so I hope I hit

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

just out of curiosity, how hard does anyone think it would it be to burn/chop down the cactus that he is on? Hehe, I thought of a funny way to cut it down though, it would be dangerous and Gin wouldn't think of it anyways.

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

As Gin looks from the now still rope and the rat faced mongrel,"Well, this could be rather annoying." Gin whips out a shuriken and throws it at the little bugger.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d2 ⇒ 1

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

maybe someone with a little bit of muscle should lift the little guy up... I'm only 12 and Sati is 6 perhaps a bulky elf?

Male Undine Monk of the Empty Hand/1

As he realizes just what kind of situation the goat and Sati could be in, Gin pulls off his belt and offers it as a means of support should the ground collapse beneath them. "Would you care for a second hand? I cant go out there with you as it would likely not hold both our weight and the goat, take hold of this and if you fall, we can help pull you up, the last thing we need is for another person to die in this mess" the belt is 10 ft long so you could hold on, in theory, from 2 squares away, though if anyone has rope, that would work considerably better.
