Physical Description:
Bastion is a hulking muscular figure, standing 202cm tall and weighing 87kg (6’6”, 190lbs). Like those of his efreeti lineage he is quite lean despite his muscular build. Unclothed he could be mistaken for a bronze statue as his skin color is that of a metallic bronze. He has large dark brown mottled horns curving from his head far back rising out of his mane of red hair that flickers and waves as it were aflame. His ears are pointed and tilted back, but seem different from elven ears.

History of the PC:
Bastion has always been an oddity among his kind, an ifrit that protects, instead of uses those around him. He grew up in a small town near much travelled crossroads and was raised by a blacksmith, who had found him abandoned in his forge as a baby. Bastion enjoyed helping out and his ability to tolerate and start fires came in handy. He met a lot of adventurers purchasing armor, but some of them were quite rude or hostile to him. His father always defended him and raged like a volcano at anyone who treated his son poorly, gesturing with his blacksmith‘s hammer. That image of the raging protector weilding a hammer never left Bastion. He admired his father and wanted to be this protector. He couldn‘t escape his wandering nature and set out at an early age for glory. He ended up helping defending some temples to fire deities as the priests thought his nature was a sign from their gods. Growing up as a blacksmith he naturally chose to shield himself as much armor as possible. He now travels with group he met and is proud to be the one who keeps them safe.

Quests and Special Event he remembers:
Quest 1:
When he was searching online he read about a quest to obtain a powerful shield he wanted to use. An old nobleman needed a party to clear out a catacomb near his home to retrieve the family treasures. In return the adventurers coudl choose some of the treasures to keep as a reward.

Quest 2:
As Bastion is rather slow in all his armor he was excited to find a quest where he would get boots that allowed him to move faster in all his armor, the best thing was that you could even wear them during the quest. It involved escorting a caravan through a desert.

Special Event:
The mid-summer festival was always a favorite of Bastion‘s as it celebrated the heat and there were many smaller events and quests involving fire, which made him really good at them.

History of Player:
Jack Treppin had enlisted as soon as he could and had been a soldier for close to 10 years when he had his accident. He had been the tank driver of a Challenger 2 tank named “Bastion” and had always had a close relationship with his crew. They had expected trouble in Iraq, but they came under much heavier fire than they expected. Their tank was blown up and all of the crew but Jack died, but he ended up in a wheelchair. After leaving the military he looked for outlets and found himself immersed in the video game “Dungeon Crash” where he took on the role of keeping his comrades safe as he had done in the military. As his role was a tank he named his character in memory of his tank.

lvl 1 spending:

Ifrit abilities +2 Cha, +2 Dex, -2 Wis

Starting feat: Medium Armor Proficiency
Weapon feat: Warhammer

Special 1 - Bastion of Good
Special 2 - Tough as Nails
Special 3 - Fighter feat (shield prof)

Bastion of Good:
Bastion of Good (Su): At 1st level, a sacred shield can call upon the powers of good to defend her and her allies against evil. This ability functions as smite evil, except that the paladin gains no benefit on attack or damage rolls against her target. Instead, any attacks the target makes against allies within 10 feet of the paladin deal half damage. Attacks against the paladin deal full damage, but the paladin gains a deflection bonus to her AC equal to her Charisma bonus (if any) against attacks made by the target of the smite. This bonus increases by +1 for every four paladin levels (to a maximum of +6 at 20th level). As with smite evil, if the paladin targets a creature that is not evil, her bastion of good ability is wasted with no effect. Feats, abilities, and the like that increase a paladin's number of uses of smite evil per day increase a sacred shield's uses of bastion of good per day. This ability replaces smite evil.
