I had thought that a certain thread that managed to reach 20 pages and over 950 posts would prove how much we love our Divine Lord Ashiel the Magnificient!

Quote: My hatred of roleplaying and character drives runs so deeply that I most certainly never wrote a NSFW slashfic about on of my PCs and her psicrystal/mentor purely on the basis that the other players in the group were shipping them and wanted to read more about the characters and their hot +1 on +2 action (which if such a thing existed would require a PM since it would be in bad form to post Ashiel's of fifty shades of gay on the boards, because those +1s and +2s and morale bonuses probably shouldn't be read by anyone younger than puberty). That I was mildly disappointed that I didn't actually get PMs from people inquiring about the slashfic (especially on this forum :P).
... Alright you, PM that to me. I'm immensely curious now, lol. Specially since I'm not sure I was around at that time (I seem to have a habit of losing internet service for long periods of time), so I'll be a little late, but, meh.
Edit: ... And, for some reason, the Cultist reminded me of a Daria episode.
Joey/Jeffy/Jamey: "What is woe?"
Daria: "It's that feeling you'd get if the superbowl were suddenly pre-empted by antiques road show."
Joey/Jeffy/Jamey: "Woah!"
Daria: "See?" I know I typed 'woe'... because every time I type or read the word 'whoa' I automatically think of Keanu Reeves saying it in a Bill and Ted movie.

Oh whoa is me! I should have thought of this before! From now, I'll be collecting the Lord Ashiel's stories into a document called 'Ashiel's Anecdotes' to show to potential Converts.
[Edit] It will be similar to my collection of Ashiel's Encounters.

Lord Ashiel is always in need of more skeletons for his workforce. His people have a certain standard of living that needs to be maintained after all.
Also, if you've got any dragons around, some oft he Lord Ashiel's more important citizens are in need of mounts in armor, and dragons do fit the bill of 'armored mount' ever so nicely.

What was the most fun you've ever had in a game?
Oh that's a really hard one. I'd probably have to say this one time when I was GMing, our party was 20th level and was facing off against the big bad (a major demon lord that the Arcane Brotherhood in Faerun was attempting to call into the world). It was a custom critter and was really, really tough.
The party which consisted of a hobgoblin warblade, a kobold lich sorcerer, a tiefling malconvoker, a human abjurer, and a halfling priest of Ilmater, were doing all they could to fight the creature, but between its HP, regeneration, saves, SR, quickened spells, and generally being a major badass, it wasn't working out so well. At this moment the halfling remembered a +2 lifedrinker they found in a dungeon a few sessions prior (as filler loot) that they kept 'cause they thought it was interesting.
The halfling grabs it out of their bag of holding and runs over and gives it to the warblade and cast death ward on him. The warblade and the kobold sorcerer (polymorphed into a dragon) are holding the line and fighting with the demon while the healer is spamming heal / mass heal / holy word (to sweep the fiend's adds), and the malconvoker is supporting the group with meat shields and buffs, while the abjurer was dispelling and/or removing bad things the demon was using.
The healer was like "I'm running out of heals" the summoned minions all began using aid-another on the warblade who super-full-attacked the fiend and inflicted like 14 negative levels on him (his SR was tied to his HD) and then the malconvoker cast flesh to stone on him, the abjurer maximized acid fireball, the sorcerer disintegrate, and the healer banishment and sent the fiend home in less than a matchbox. The Great Lord Ashiel's favorite encounter in glorious detail!

Well, I have good news for you then! The wonderful, glorious, and magnificent Lord Ashiel has created a Psychic Monk based off the Psychic Warrior! Even better, the generous Lord Ashiel offers it free of charge on his blog over at Alvena Publishing. For your convenience, I have linked you to the Psychic Monk. On topic, I feel that the Purple Worm is another one that's really over CR'd. It needs to be Vermin so it can benefit from immunity to mind effects. I can count at least four separate instances of play were the worm got charmed, put to sleep, and other ridiculous fates due to its atrocious Will save. (+4 on a CR 12??? Better roll 20s against every save or suck coming at you. That is nonsense. It should at least be an 11 for that CR. Something else for me to fix. :) I have to admit that I've been having fun rewriting some of these monsters. I might have to do some more of this. :) Ashielfinder anyone?

Ashiel wrote: Now it's entirely possible to create creatures that are capable of taking on 20th+ level party solo, without resorting to tons of immunities, but you'll definitely want some resistances and big ones at that. I had good success in the end of the my Forgotten Realms game where the party faced off against a gargantuan-sized homebrewed demon lord. He was built from the ground up to be a sort of boss-monster, which meant he had lots of hit dice, HD-linked spell resistance, good saves, big regeneration, substantial DR, and some abilities that allowed him to get in more action economy (such as quickened SLAs).
It was a grueling battle for the party, but they wore him down. The way they managed to bring him down involved the cleric casting death ward on the party's warblade and having him full-attack the big bad with a life-drinker the party found as random loot a few sessions prior (the warblade actually had a twinked out demon-bashing sword that he dropped in combat to use this as a tactical decision). When he inflicted the negative levels (and the big bad had lots of racial HD he didn't keel over quickly as a result) it was making it easier for the party to survive, and was weakining his defenses. Eventually they managed to lower his effective SR and saves enough that the casters began debuff-bombing him, before pretrifying him, blasting him to itsy bits, and banishing him back to the depths.
It was a big fight and one I got many thanks for, so I know that high level combat doesn't need to just fall into the same old trap of "is it immune to X" thing. Resistance and understanding action economy is just fine.

Oh god no. XD
How would "I'm going to repeatedly cite a fluff description demanding it is RAW, while intentionally misunderstanding and misrepresenting it in a most earnest attempt to disparage your name rather than actually refute your arguments, but only just before tossing a red herring into the field to try and draw attention away from the points I can't refute, while entering into threads and bantering on about a poster's gender as though it was somehow relevant in any universe, while constantly misusing the term 'goalpost' over and over again, and of course getting upset when the RAW doesn't agree with me or does something that doesn't suit me and justifies me insulting you for being badwrongperson" be any better than what's going on with Justin? O.o Because you'd be the only victim... Or at least the main target, while the rest of us could ignore it and have a parallel discussion... lol. I beg to differ good sir! Lord Ashiel has minions! We shall intercept the vicious fiend that stalks our benevolent Master! We shall shield our Lord and strike down his foes! Only the worthy shall face our Master.

Artemis Moonstar wrote: Ashiel wrote: Tels wrote: Artemis Moonstar wrote: Aww ^-^. Ashiel, you're too awesome. I think some of the best gaming chat I've had (or read) in my two decades of gaming comes from you (top ten!). I'm still around, for the moment. I may lose internet temporarily in two days X_X. I have to agree with this, while I've enjoyed several threads on here, my all time favorite thread was the Petition: I nominate Ashiel to work for Paizo as Rules Consultant thread. Most of the threads I encounter are pointless arguments comparing people's e-peens over rule debates. A lot of the times, I get the feeling it's just a gathering of people seeing who can shout the loudest.
Where as Ashiel, you always seem to bring a lot of good advice and perspective when it comes to your posts. Not only do you have interesting stories, you bring a lot of experience to any thread you enter. Aww, thank you. Q.Q
I really appreciate it. I really enjoy trying to help, and believe it or not I don't like fighting with people over rules (I appreciate a good debate, but those are few and far in life). I'm really trying to go back to what I originally intended to do, and hopefully will be working on more content to give away to people on my blog or perhaps to make more cheap $2.00 adventures and such for the Paizo store (something I've been meaning to do for Grimmy specifically for some time now but I've been busy with non-gaming stuff for the past several months, so hopefully this will make up for some of it ^_^).
D&D/Pathfinder is a deep, deep game. With that depth, combined with its breadth of options, it can be a bewildering jungle. I feel like most of the time we should be sharing what we've mapped out with our adventures. I feel you on the shouting matches too. It's part of the reason I took a long hiatus from the Paizo boards. I've a fierce aversion to illogical fighting and I get a headache / ... My master, Lord Ashiel, is the King of Kings. Gods? Pfft, the Almighty Lord Ashiel may spawn such beings with nary an effort on his part. Just as easily, he may destroy them as well.
If thou art as mighty as thy claims, where ist thou thread of Awesome?

** spoiler omitted ** I think we should continue for another 50 odd posts, purely so we can have a thread that praises Ashiel over 1,000 posts. What other poster can make that claim? Mr.Fishy's fan club maybe, but I think that is about it.
I have not checked the pages, so I am not sure, and it is hasn't then I just contributed another post to this one. :) I welcome back to the fold, Lord Wraithstrike!

Right there, we have a captured Efreet that is forced to grant wishes and is under the control of a Wizard. I should also point out that when I was converting this module over to Pathfinder, I noticed that Tirana's stats are way too high. I wondered, how did this happen?
DOH!
