Arastine is a petite young woman with short blonde hair and icy blue eyes. She wears a white silk shirt, tan trousers and riding boots. On her belt she carries a battered but serviceable revolver as well as a sheathed short sword.
She frequently rides a big, jet-black mare named Midnight. Midnight is barded in studded leather armor and bears her rider in a military saddle while easily carrying saddlebags full of gear.
Arastine was raised among the nobility of northern Brevoy, and her upbringing shows in her well-honed manners. Quick to laugh and easy to converse with, one could almost forget her ruthless nature.

Backstory:
Arastine is the youngest daughter of Domani Surtova, the caretaker of Port Ice and uncle to the current king of Brevoy, King Noleski Surtova. Arastine grew up with her family in Port Ice. As the cousin of the king, Arastine was brought up to a life of power, wealth, and prestige, or so she was told. In reality, Port Ice was a desolate place to grow up. Isolated by the ferocious northern winters and distant from the rest of civilization at the best of times, Port Ice was politically and economically remote for much of the year.
Despite being a close relative of the monarch, being a Surtova is hardly prestigious. The other noble families resent their dominance and history of duplicity, and as such show little respect for the lesser members of House Surtova. Arastine therefore feels cheated – they should have some respect for her. If she cannot receive it by right, she will take it by force. She has traveled throughout Brevoy, and has developed some very firm opinions regarding her fellow nobles.
Domani agrees that House Surtova does not receive the respect it deserves, and sent his daughter to Restov to find a solution to this problem.
