About Aeliastraza

Description:

Appearance

Aeliastraza appears as a shadowy draconic figure with glowing purple points for eyes. The shade is only a fragment of the original wyrm, and as such is only roughly the size of a young dragon.

Personality

Once an ancient Umbral Dragon who watched over the body of the forgotten god Avidarel, Aeliastraza was slain by Yukio and her companions when they came to steal the material to craft her shadow katana. Realizing the power inherent in the ancient wyrm's body, Yukio secretly removed and preserved the heart of the wyrm, which she later implanted into herself as part of a ritual to further increase her powers over shadows. After the ritual was completed Aeliastraza arose as a shade bound to Yukio. Since part of the wyrm lives on within her, Aeliastraza is completely loyal, never questioning her mistress' word or arguing with her. She considers Ink'kalii's attitude towards Yukio borderline treasonous, but leaves him alone as commanded.

Aeliastraza's unwavering loyalty means she is afforded significant freedom to attend to matters that Yukio considers important, effectively acting as her herald. As such she is also gifted with not insignificant magical abilities, drawn from the wyrm's heart within Yukio. These abilities include the ability to travel between the planes on her own, as well as the ability to confer with the shades in Avidarel to gain access to the lore stored within the Temple's library when needed.

When in combat, she will first call upon her magic to prepare herself or her allies, and then charge in, hoping to use her strength draining touch to overcome her foes. When alone she will attempt to avoid combat that is unrelated to any of her mistress' goals or plans. When travelling with Yukio, Aeliastraza will attempt to support her with magic first, then attempt to pick off stragglers or those particularly susceptible to her strength drain. She will retreat if seriously threatened or wounded, although she will willingly sacrifice herself to save Yukio. If Aeliastraza is destroyed, she reforms adjacent to Yukio after 30 days have passed, and will continue to do so as long as the wyrm's heart lies within her.
