HISTORY
Adelai has been battered and bruised since he was a child. Left for dead in the streets of Riddleport, he grew up on his own. He kept alive by stealing, which led him to become absolutely paranoid about the actions of others. He could never be too cautious, of course. Then came the day when he missed the jump from a rooftop. Landing with a blow to the head, Adelai had a vision of death. He flew through the Boneyard, under the gaze of Pharasma. Eventually, he reached the edge and that is where he met the End. Groetus stared at him. The very end of existence looked into him and smiled.
Once he woke from his vision, Adelai had purpose. The end was coming and it was up to him to assure that it went the way Groetus demanded it. He began preaching of the end of days to those that walked the streets. However, with his already paranoid nature and now having seen nonexistence, Adelai quickly slipped into madness. While he was still capable of rational thought, his obsession with allowing only Groetus to cause any end or destruction. This has become a twisted form of good that is intent on stopping anything that is a threat to life, property, or the world. So twisted, in fact, that in an act of passion, he took the life of a warrior who was threatening a woman in an alley. A quick realization settled in him after his deed. There was no guilt or remorse, as it was Groetus's will, but he could no longer stay in this place. He took the dead man's equipment and fled to Magnimar. There he would await a sign from Groetus about his next actions.
