I've been reading over the Dragons of Golarion article in PF #4 and am intrigued by the mixed bloodline idea of the chromatic dragons. I've been wanting to use a dragon as the BBEG in an adventure I've been planning, which is set in Osirion (ie. desert terrain) and I'm not a big fan of the blue dragons and I really like blacks and can't think of a way to justify putting a black dragon in a desert, so I was thinking of using a blue dragon from the black-mothered Uztaabil clan and somehow have it be a sort of half-black/half-blue dragon...but not by simply adding the half-dragon template...Anyone have any suggestions for this?

I didn't use a template, but you can see how I built a red-with-some-blue-blood dragon here.

What I would do is this.
Take each stat, -10, and then average out the differance, then add the 10 back in.
Have their breath weapon do 1/2 and 1/2 energy types.
Then go through and average out everything else like height, weight, etc. and then find out what size that would make it.
I would make apposing energy types impossible, but that is your call.
You might want to ether chose a dominate dragon bloodline or give them energy resistance 30 to both types if they are not the same.
So while they do more damage and are harder to resist their breath weapons, they probably don't have any immunity to one type of energy.

That's a pretty sensible way to do it. If the critter ends up with 'half' of a Fire or Cold subtype, you can call it Energy Resistance equal to twice HD or something, and give the critter a +50% damage vulnerability to the opposite energy type.
Unless it's a Red/White Dragon pairing, in which case the Fire and Cold subtypes cause the baby to explode in a matter/antimatter reaction. :)
But if it's an Adult Red/Blue with 22 HD (round up, hybrid vigor, doncha know...), it would have Electrical and Fire Resistance 44, but take +50% damage from Cold, for instance.
