Job- 1d6 ⇒ 4
Ragnar works diligently the first day, not willing to risk falling to the deck again.

Indubitably Never 3d6

Remember, if you shirked, you're at -2

Ornotck:
You are sent to the bilge to catch rats for supp ... er, to stop them eating everything on board. (DC 10 stealth, survival or dexterity) 1d4 ⇒ 4 While you're down there, you see a pirate chained to the mast in two feet of the foulest smelling water you've ever had the misfortune to slosh around in.

Since this is lowest area of the ship, you are shirking where you are supposed to be. Since you're just looking at the ship itself to make sure it's in good shape, you're not in much trouble when the big Rahadoumi you're working with tells you to quit mucking about and get to work.

Lorelei:
You're the ship's runner today, which means that you get to go pretty much everywhere except the Captain's and officers' quarters, and get a good sense of the ship's layout. Make DC 10 acrobatics AND CON checks.

At some point, you find yourself catching your breath next to the redhead who healed you on the deck. She doesn't know much, but she does whisper that you should look in the locker at the back corner of the crew's quarters, next to the stairs to the galley.

Havok:
You are sent to the bilge to catch rats for supp ... er, to stop them eating everything on board. (DC 10 stealth, survival or dexterity) 1d4 ⇒ 2 While you're down there, you see a pirate chained to the mast in two feet of water with no particular odor.

I'm sure someone can point you to the quartermaster's store. It's right off the Galley, so you'll see Fen. And you'll get to meet Cut Throat Grok, a slender half-orc with a truly impressive scar across her neck.

Ragnar:
Your task is just basic ropework, keeping everything ship-shape, coiled, stowed, secured properly, etc. Tedious stff, but not dangerous. DC 10 DEX or Profession: Sailor. If you wish to change your action, feel free, but do it BEFORE you roll.

You find your way to the galley, a cramped and chaotic room with two tables, two small stoves and every imaginable cooking utensil, with a particular emphasis on meat cleavers. Cauldrons are bubbling on the stoves and there are barrels, casks and cupboards full of supplies crowding the room. There are also chickens, goats and a fat man in a filthy apron hugging a bottle of rum.

"What're you here for?" the man growls, rubbing his eyes and squinting at you.I'll need you to roll a d6 to see what your job for the day is, please.

Ornotck:
You catch lots of creepy-crawly things, enough to keep Scourge ... well, not happy, exactly, but tolerant.

The rats are filthy and probably disease-ridden, but you notice some of the spiders are the kind that you don't want to get bit by.

You are done dicing until the night, but feel free to RP.

Ragnar:
Nice day's work.

You are done dicing until the night, but feel free to RP.

Lorelei:
You have absolutely no trouble getting your work done. You're not even tired, at the end of the day. You have no trouble finding your way to the locker in question as you run around, and in it you find a battered book with a familiarly rank smell that says "FormULa" on it, and is full of goblin gibberish. There is also a dagger.

You are done dicing until the night, but feel free to RP.

"Guht'uhnna fught uh cuhdduhn wuhn.", he says, coiling and tying a rope. Noting Odiseo's likely puzzlement, he holds up both fists and pantomimes boxing, then slugs one fist against his cheek- a knockout. He pokes his chin at the other man. You?

Human Oracle (Dark Tapestry) 1

Between the man's speech and his gestures, Odiseo manages to get the gist of his explanation.

"I heard some bad news, then I took some bad advice," he replies. "And then, in Port Peril, I accepted a free drink and woke up here."

He drapes the now sodden cravat over his shoulders and holds a out a hand to the other man. "My name's Odiseo."

The Ulfen likewise extends a tattooed hand, gripping Odiseo's a little tighter than is comfortable.
"Ruhgnuh"., he says, being careful to clearly enunciate the syllables with his mouth for lip-reading.

Fen:
The big man rubs his eyes and squints at you. Then he lets out a terrifying bellow that somehow twists itself into a laugh.

"You're what they gave me to work with?" he grins, and rummages around for a clean bowl. "Then we will work together. I'm Ambrose Kroop, but round here everyone calls me Fishguts."

He sets a sack of flour on top of a barrel, making an impromptu stool. Then he fills the bowl with rum and slides it across the counter. "Take a seat and have a drink, and tell me the news of the world."

Fishguts is clearly too drunk to function. You'll need to make a Profession: Cook check to feed the crew, and a Fort save. You will be fatigued (-2 to STR and DEX) and gain +1d4 ⇒ 4 CHA for 1d8 ⇒ 8 hours. You will also take 1d2 ⇒ 2 CON damage from the rum.

Havok:
You do a fine job eat... er ... catching rats and bugs.

When you sneak up to the quartermaster's store, you see a weedy half-orc with a gigantic scar across her neck. Her room is off the galley, where you see Fen making food and talking to a short, fat man who seems to be in danger of nodding off at any minute. The store itself is a large closet, packed with chests and cases and loose gear.

Grok is sitting on a small chair that is squeezed in among the other contents of the room, and gives you a fierce grin as you approach. "A new face, eh? Ye can call me Cutthroat or Grok, as ye please." She illustrates her nickname by drawing a finger across the scar bisecting her neck. "What can I do for ye?"

Fen:
You chat with Ambrose as you drink, and he nods off often enough for you to slap together a tolerable meal. Later in the afternoon, the quartermaster, a tall, skinny orc with a terrible scar across her neck brings another bucket of rum out to share with Fishguts. Dinner is good, the pirates are happy. The cabin girl, "Caulky" Tarroon, comes to collect the food for the officers, and you have done a good day's work.

Consider yourself done dicing for the day, unless there are any questions you want to ask Fishguts during the course of the day.

Havok:
The woman laughs and glares down at you. [b]"Oh, aye, little xxxxx, I know some fine xxxxxx places for a drink. The Formidably Maid has a xxxxx fine spiced rum."

Though you don't make much of an impression on Grok, you do have the opportunity to scan the joint. The biggest objects are two massive barrels, but worked into the space around the barrels are two wooden lockers, two wooden chests, a wooden trunk and a metal trunk. All are conspicuously locked. On a not entirely unrelated note, you also spy a keyring on the half-orc's belt.

Male Goblin Alchemist/1

Havok begins to tear up and his ears droop, he slowly turns around and begins to walk away. He runs up on deck and waits for the rest of the day to finish.

I will wait until everyone else is good and before we move into nighttime actions. I will be sneaking back down to the quartermasters once nighttime actions start

Indubitably Never 3d6

I think everyone is done with the day, except possible RP. To keep things moving, I propose that we keep things moving into dinner time. If there is RP to continue from the day, we can post it in spoilers, just to keep it clear.

As supper and rum are dished out on the deck, Misters Plugg and Scourge come up from below, leading a pirate with his wrists bound in front of him. Ornotck and Havok will recognize him as the pirate they saw chained to the mast in the bilge.

"Aboard the Wormwood, we always try to provide some entertainment before you eat," Plugg says, with a nasty grin on his face. "So it is my pleasure to present Jakes Magpie who was caught ... er."

"Stealing from the quartermaster's store," Scourge reminds him.

"Allowing him the pleasure of being keelhauled for your amusement."

A rope is looped under the ship, and Jakes is tied hand and foot to either end of it. With a cheerful laugh, Plugg plants his boot on Jakes's behind and pushes him over the side. Then he and Scourge take either end of the rope and drag the poor soul under the boat, keeping the lines tight.

Perception DC 15:
As they are pulling him under the boat, Plugg is truly, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Twelve rounds later, what's left of the pirate comes up on the other side of the boat. The barnacles on the ship's hull have torn him to shreds, and Plugg grins cheerfully.
Heal DC 15:
A quick look before the body is disposed of lets you estimate that Jakes Magpie took about 24 points of damage from the barnacles and drowned.

"Well, I'm starved. Let's see what Fishguts has for us today," Plugg says, and cuts the corpse free of the ropes. He pushes it over the side with his foot, and then heads down to eat, leaving Scourge on deck to keep an eye on things.

Scourge makes sure each of you gets a bowl of whatever tasty treat Fen prepared, and a half pint of rum. "Drink up," he snarls. "You've earned it."

You notice the other pirates chug their rum down quickly and conspicuously. The rum will make you fatigued (-2 to STR and DEX) and gain +1d4 ⇒ 3 CHA for 1d8 ⇒ 6 hours. You will also take 1d2 ⇒ 2 CON damage. Should this not appeal to you, a DC 10 Stealth check will allow you to dump the rum unseen.

Lorelei looks away as the pirate's body is hauled back aboard the ship, not wanting to see the mangled sight lest she embarrass herself by losing whatever is left in her stomach. Poor fellow, such a fate is quite harsh for a little thievery.

Lorelei later accepts the offered food and rum, by now quite hungry since she hadn't eaten all day. She drinks down all her rum wanting to gorget about the unpleasantness of the day.

If no one stops her after the meager meal, Lorelei begins to sing. It is her usual action to keep her mind occupied on more pleasant things. Though her topic may seem a bit strange as she picks a song about an ill-fated love story.

Entertain as her night time action.

@ Lorelei: Con damage heals as per ordinary. 1 pt per 8 hour's rest.I'm calling that if you take extra night actions and fail the check to avoid fatigue, you do not get your point back. Otherwise, you do.
@ Ragnar: No save. You drink it, it works, just like a potion.
@ Ornotck: Stealth hates you. Maybe try taking off the peg leg and hopping?

Lorelei:
The singing right after supper will affect pretty much all of the ordinary pirates. The officers are eating in their quarters, so they are unaffected. +2 to CHA based skill checks to the crew for the next 24 hours. Late night bull session? Or turning in early?

Havok:
Rum pocketed. No tumbling, or it'll spill. There has been talk of your nocturnal escapades, but they are as yet undiced. When you are ready.

Ragnar, Fen & Odiseo:

Ornotck:

@ Lorelei (but for everyone) Just posted a link to a map in the discussion thread. ALL the non-officers bunk down in the ship's hold (A10) the lowest deck except the bilge.

Havok:
You must have posted while I was typing. The door is not locked. You make it safely into the quartermaster's store. Are you attempting one of the chests, lockers or trunks?

Ragnar:
As you start to pour the rum over the side, Master Scourge catches your eye. He raises his whip, grinning, and says, "Six lashes, tomorrow night."

Female Undine Cleric / 4 || Init: +1 / HP: 23/23 // AC: 14 / FF: 13 / Touch:11 / Saves: F: +4, R: +2, W: +8

Co-ed I see.

Lorelei give Ragnar a look of sympathy at Scourges pronouncement.

Not planning any escapades on her first night here, Lorelei tries to pick out a bunk/hammock near those that have already been chosen by her fellow shanghai-ees or at least near empty bunks or the hull. Understandably a bit nervous about bedding down amongst an unknown crew and hoping to not have her throat slit in her sleep.

Male Goblin Alchemist/1

Havok sniffles his glee when he finds the door unlocked. He silently walks into the Quartermaster's store and looks about the room. He looks at the chests, the lockers and the trunks. Havok spends a second thinking which one he wants to try before getting out.

Chests and trunks will have treasure! Havok like treasure! But lockers would have gear! Havok look at lockers!

Guessing I can only open one per night?

Indubitably Never 3d6

@ Lorelei. These particular pirates are predictably unconcerned about preserving the honor of any maidens in their crew.
@ Havok. You have potentially 3 actions each night. So one per action, to be exact.
