The somewhat dirty, very smelly dwarf dressed in hide armor that once might have been identifiable, but now seems very much not, saunters into the room. His beard is unkempt and his hair shoots off in all directions, and worst of all, beside him stalks a beast that eyes all that move with a predator's eye: a thunderlizard.

"Mwrach fermur grunt. Belch fermur by Gozeh!" The noises he makes could be a language, but only if the definition of language was loosened greatly. The thunder lizard yawns, showing off many, many teeth, and then pounces on a yellowed bone the dwarf produces and begins to gnaw on it with a disturbing amount of cracking and popping noises.

Beginning the briefing.

“I have a routine mission for you, though a dangerous routine mission.” Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng whispered to you.
This old man in the great hall of the Grand Lodge had seen better days. You heard he was sick during the last few days, and the lack of sleep and food had taken its toll on him.

Through wracking coughs, he explains you "An ally of ours in the Land of the Linnorm Kings—Rognvald Skagni—is writing a lengthy report on the state of government in the northern countries of Avistan. I received a letter from him just yesterday requesting several key documents from the vaults here to help him finish the report." As he finishes his sentence, a pair of agents carry a large, heavy chest and gently drop it at his feet. "These are the documents, and I need you to board a ship north to deliver them to Skagni. Here, take this key."

The man struggled to stand up and handed one of you a key, as well as a small pouch. "The key opens the chest, and the gold in this pouch will buy you passage and get you from the Linnorm coast to Trollheim, where Skagni resides. Whatever you do, do not let the chest out of your sight and do not, under any circumstances, allow it to be searched. These documents are for Mr. Skagni’s eyes
only."

"Take care, it's cold up there!" He coughs some more and then waits for any questions you may have.

The chest is about 2 feet wide, 4 feet long and 3 feet deep. It's made of oak bound with iron and locked with an enormous steel lock. It weighs about 100 pounds.

Feel free to buy items and equipment from Absalom or Trollheim.
Now is the perfect time to introduce your character to the other players.
Don't hesitate to ask additional questions about your mission to Drandle Dreng,

Dark Archive

Angus sniffs loudly, then points at the chest, then at the happily chewing T-rex juvenile. "CARRY?" he nearly shouts, alternating between pointing at the chest and the rex.

Seeing the others looking oddly at him, he smiles, showing a few teeth missing and says loudly, as if speaking to natives of a foreign land who cannot speak a proper language. "ANGUS." He points a fat thumb at himself, then hitches it toward the dinosaur, "FANG."

GM, changing out two spells for daily castings of endure element for me and the lizard. Also, I'd like to spend 15 gp for an exotic pack saddle for the dino.

I'd say that overall, you won't regret having endure element. :)

Rogzul scowls a little about his current assignment. Not because he minded travel to the Land of the Linnorm Kings, but because he only just got back from an assignment in Irrisen. It would have been easier just to stay where he was.

Kashag, the strange hawk on his shoulder, lets out a screech, voicing his masters frustrations.

"Grizak, my mule, he can carry the chest. So you do not burden your companion." Rogzul speaks in a halting deliberate way. He grunts at the dwarfs introduction but does not offer one of his own.

To Drandle Drang he just nods. "We will protect this chest."

After listening to the instructions, a halfling Pathfinder rises from the table.

The blonde-headed male looks like a prize fighter entering the ring and punches at the air.

"Yeah! WOOOOO!!!!! This sounds awesome!!! WoooooOOOOOO!!!" the halfling moves around the table giving high-fives to everyone, though if any fail to return his offering, he simply ignores the slight or fist-bumps the offender's shoulder.

"YEAH!!!" he says again as he takes his seat. "I'm Theadric Tatterhood, but my stage name is 'Hood' and everyone just calls me that! I'll be charging into combat on the back of my war steed, and will be taking the lead on stunts, heroics, and of course spectacular explosions! But being famous and everything, I'm sure you already knew that!" he smiles.

Turning to Dreng, he says "We will not only get this chest to its destination, but we will get it there in style!"

- Hello, fellow pathfinders. My name is Seytiko, young chef extaordinare! It is the dream of my young heart to become the greatest chef on all of Golarion and to cook one of each dish there is!

He sneezes loudly.
- But right now, I should go buy some cold-weather clothing. I am just back from Seagang and it was so much warmer then it will ever be in Irrisen.

I bought cold weather outfit, warm blanket, 2 alchemical fires, antitoxin, antiplague, bandolier, 2 CLW potions and 1 oil of bless weapon.

Angus holds up a rough and food-stained hand for the hafling to 'high five'. He looks somewhat amused by this custom and nods before trying the same thing on the tyrannosaur, whose tiny arms seem ill made for the gesture. Giving up, he shrugs and mutters something that sounds like a cross between a grunt, a belch and a chitter.

Dreng nods and adds:

"You do well to protect yourself from the cold, either by mundane or by magical means."

More or less back from the holidays. Posting rate will be slow until the beginning of the year :)

Feel free to retcon any purchase in your next post. I'll let you keep track of your purchases, of course. Don't forget you also can get additional furs whose bonus stacks with everything else.

The directions to Skagni’s home provided by Venture- Captain Dreng’s assistant are unclear, but after a few wrong turns due to poor handwriting, the party finally locates their destination. But there’s a problem: it’s been burned to the ground. All that remains are the stone ruins of the small home’s walls and a few scattered piles of rubble.

Where the directions indicate Skagni’s house should be stands only the charred husk of a burnt-out building. Bits of burnt timber and ruined furniture lie scattered about, but if anything remained after the fire, it seems to have been picked over and looted. Though most of the walls are blackened with soot, a patch along the former front of the residence still shows relatively clean, white walls. Smeared across those white walls, written in reddish-brown letters four feet tall, are the words, “Pathfinders go home.”

Heal DC 10:

As you examine the nature of what was used to write, you come to the conclusion that the writing is indeed blood, but from whom, it’s impossible to tell.

I'll let you place yourselves on the map, at the spots you think you are.

Yes, 10 feet square means "10 by 10". Not that it changes anything to the actual fight. What you drew is a rectangle, not a square ;)

I didn't know this. Thank you for the clarification! :)

Angus swings his scythe at the man in front of him, with vengeance! Scythe!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 for 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2) + 3 = 8 damage!

Fang growls and snaps at the purple foe, his mouth watering for a taste of yummy, yummy thug. BITE!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 damage!

Dark Archive

With one solid blow, Angus drops the man before him. Fang tries to bite the one on his right but bites nothing but air.
Not seeing the point in moving, the two remaining thugs try to bring down the small man before them but only the leader hits the halfling.

Purple vs Theadric: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Leader vs Theadric: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Angus steps beside his friendly scaly friend, and raises the scythe. He lets out a bloodcurdling shout, that in a moment, resolves into peals of mad laughter. "BLEEDIN' TIME!" He screams as Fang and his scythe go back to work on the purple thug.

Fang looks mildly embarrassed, like a teen who has been dropped off at school by a father wearing a tu-tu.

SLICIN'!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 for 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7 damage!

The coordinated assault of Angus and Vires wipe him out from existence.

Theadric [26/31], Rogzul, Seytiko, Rimble are still up!

"Hey, you're putting up a decent fight," Hood tells the leader.

"Let me repay you in kind!" the halfling adds as he stabs him with his lance.

"Who do you work for, by the way?"

Despite the mighty blow, the man still stands but barely.
