When Gwen joins Calvin at the Bakery he shows her what he found. "I found this where the cloaks where found by the monks."

Korizon climbs down from the roof, having found nothing.

"I guess we should pay the place a visit.and see if anyone knows Barnel."

We could follow our last lead of the note. Jarid Moltwin, who was caught selling the Shard of Iomedae’s Lance at his private stall. To the God's Market?

"God's Market eventually. We could also check out the Pitview Pub. It's a moderately popular tavern located in the Ascendant Court. I've heard the ladies there are B-E-A-utiful!"

Calvin shares the note with the group.

The small slip of paper cryptically reads "Barnel - Noon Pitview Pub".

"I'll follow you Giovanni."

Well, if we still got time before noon, we could visit Jarid Moltwin first.

"Jarid doesn't sound as pretty... But since we are, on the clock, as it were, and we still have some time left for investigations, that sounds like a grand plan, Gadget."

Kevan nods and smiles. "Yes, let's go see Master Moltwin and sort his story out before he head to the Pub."

You move on to Moltwin's stall. On the front of this stall, a large sign proclaims “Estelle’s Last Hope Mercantile.” A smaller sign below, obviously in a different hand, advertises “All merchandise verified authentic,” and in even smaller text below that is written “No Refunds.” The stall is filled with a variety of unique items bearing various claims, each less likely that the last. “Cayden Cailean’s Lost Loincloth” sits on a shelf next to a clumsily preserved, half-eaten apple claiming to have been discarded by Norgorber on the day of his ascension.

A man is in the shop, busy to arrange several items. "Hello my friends, how can I be of service. What are you looking for today?"

Giovanni grins and strokes his thin mustache.

"Ahh... Greetings! I... Am Giovanni!"

Giovanni does a flamboyant half-bow.

"I have heard tales that you might be able to fix an ail of mine..."

He leans in closer, so as to whisper. He makes sure the vendor can see his eyes darting back and forth to Gwen...

(whispering) "Might you happen to sell... A love potion?"

Calvin scoffs at the items sold by the merchant and grunts under his breath."Useless rubbish". The barbarian crosses his arms over his chest and stands tall letting the merchant know he is not here to buy but to protect his companions.

Giovanni grins and strokes his thin mustache.

"Ahh... Greetings! I... Am Giovanni!"

"Whoo?!"

(continuing to whisper) "...or, if not, some owl repellent will suffice..."

Kevan glances at the items and does a double take as he sees the loincloth labeled. He raises an eyebrow at the man, but decides to take a closer look. "Cayden Cailean’s Lost Loincloth? I wasn't aware he had lost one. Does the Drunken Hero bandy about naked in the heavens? Perhaps to the delight of Calistra?" He chuckles.

"How much is it?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

"I'm sorry, love potions are sold out today, but I have a stuffed eagly you can wear on your shoulder to scare away the owl, Sir. It's yours for 15gp." Moltwin answers to Giovanni before heading over to Kevan.

"Oh, a fine piece you found here, Sir. The cost of this rare item is 800 gp. Let's say 700 gp for you, because I like your beard."

Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Gwen snatches the cloth from Moltwin, they have been to the point of looking like an old pirate's flag.

"Lookey here, these say they belong to someone named 'Calvin' not 'Cayden'."

Calvin gives Gwen a puzzled look, then after a few seconds a big grin and wink. "I knew I lost those somewhere. Never knew they were worth so much or I would have kept better track of them." He let's out a deep chuckle.

Gadget blushes, speechless from the whole ordeal.

Kevan laughs. "Well, 'Calvin's Loincloth' isn't quite worth the same is it, Moltwin?"

"Now, sir. Should we discuss these obviously fake relics that you're trying to pass off? Or perhaps we can call our friends in the Greycloaks."

Giovanni chuckles and grins at Kevan's forwardness.

"Ah, tis true," he says as he pats his Mithral Rapier, "my companions are not normally as direct, but I suppose they simply don't appreciate swindlers. Tell us what we need to know, and you may continue to swindle away another day."

Calvin turns from the merchant's stall and scans the rooftops for any threats.

"I’m already out good coin, and now you’re here trying to scare off my legitimate customers! What do you want to know? And stop shouting around!" Moltwin answers.

The Shard of Iomedae's Lance. You sold it to someone...where did you get it and who did you sell it to?

"WHOO!"

"I'll settle for where you got it from. Someone's been stealing relics and I doubt it's you. You wouldn't fence something like that yourself. But if you got it from someone, then you might not have known it was real."

Calvin taps his foot with impatience as he continues to watch the roof tops for any danger.

Calvin does not see any danger on the roof tops.

"I had no reason to expect it was stolen. I bought the shard from a fence I've dealt with in the past by the name of Barnel. I did not sell it, the Graycloaks took it, they told me it's a piece of evidence." Moltwin answers.

Calvin turns to the others as the merchant speaks of Barnel. "That is the same name on this note we found. I say we check out this Pitview Pub and ask around for this Barnel."

Giovanni grins at Kevan.

"It's your lucky day, my friend. If only our previous excursions had included regular trips to drinking halls!"

Kevan smiles back. "Today is a good day!" He chuckles and turns back to Moltwin. "What does this Barnel look like? Do you know where he finds these items?"

Afterwards, Kevan nods. "Now, let's go find Barnel. I think he owes us an explanation."

Hopefully Barnel will have some answers...and some answering...

"Barnel is an unwashed guy with a filthy beard and scraggy black hair. Asking too much questions about items might result in loosing business partners, so I usually don't ask too much." Moltwin ansers.

You leave Moltwin's shop and head to the Pitview Pub, a moderately popular tavern located in the Ascendant Court. Before you reach your destination two thugs and a dog approach you and attack.
