Xaeken lets out a yell as the spear is driven in to him. Now in the thick of it the oread attempts to grab at the spear

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Yet does so ineffectually. I'm going to die in this place but maybe if even a few get free... The oread continues to menace the guard, if anything to distract him from the others.

I should've caught this earlier, so I do apologize Zorgg, everyone but Octavian has the manacle on. You need the key to unlock the manacles from you to allow spell casting abilities. My bad for not catching it earlier.

Everyone has manacles on from the very beginning, what was happening was everyone was being chained up(Which you avoided by hiding). Otherwise there would be no way they could keep all of you guys locked up. Again, I do apologize for this error. I should've caught it from the beginning.

Breewyn made a frantic grab for the keys from the blue man.

CMB: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (7) - 5 = 2

She lets out an exasperated noise as she completely misses grabbing the keys. Her chains were weighing her down entirely too much. She let out a bit of a whine, tugging at the blue man's tunic more.

Game Master

Act appropriate for this situation, not a formal combative situation. When we need to use initiative I will clarify for it.

Item Fort Save: 1d20 ⇒ 7
The chains on the tiefling shook and shuttered for a moment before completely bursting apart, freeing the tiefling from the chain gang.

Chuthan, Opposed Stealth Checks:
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 61d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 101d20 - 4 ⇒ (13) - 4 = 9

Chuthan stealthed successfully

The guard tangled up with the tiefling recovers himself, but unfortunately he didn’t have time to react when the blue freak grabbed the keys from his side. ”Ya’ll going to die!” He bellows out in rage, ”Sound the alarm!” he attempts to strike at the tiefling again, holding onto his spear. He was no fool to cast it aside and arm the slaves, but he failed to notice the plant freak whip around from the tiefling, catching him off-guard. He feels the chains wrap around his leg, tripping him.
Guard 1 Reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Unfortunately he wasn't quick enough to catch himself as he falls flat on his back, the spear clanging away from him.

You still have the spell in your retinue
Unfortunately the fireball Zorgg casted was interrupted by the manacles, nothing but a puff of smoke escaped his hands, but an odd light flashed from the manacles around his wrists. Though it didn’t seem to deter the maniacal goblin as he added searing hot pain against the guard who was now prone, resulting in him screaming in pain. It appears the goblin was fitted with broken manacles. The guard is left clutching his burns with haggard breathing.

Guard 2 Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
The second guard back paddles, still visibly shaken, but from the sight of his fellow guard falling and screaming out in pain he lost his will to fight. Dropping the spear he began to book it to the entrance. "Blow the kegs! Collapse the tunnels damnit!"

The guards near the entrance begin to fumble and turn back to the entrance, making a dash for it, leaving the prone guard to his doom.

The words of the guards still cut into Marra as she was led into the shadowy tunnels alongside the rest of her chain gang, although their comments were nothing new to her. Keeping silent as they go past the entrance, she notices a few guards moving some items nearby.

Now past the first group, she has no choice but to stay against the walls, all the while silently hoping for some sort of escape from this damnable place. She looks about in the dimness, and is disturbed at the yells of the guards. The stony man's indimidation of the guard only serves to worry her further. Please, Sarenrae. She takes another look at her shackled hands.

The sudden sound of combat startles Marra, and she jumps in surprise at the sight of one of the guards kicking another behind the back.

As the fighting proceeds, she echos the question of the green-haired... creature attempting to strangle a prone guard. "Gods save us, does anyone have keys?" She rushes closer to where the prone guard is located as to fall into sight, scanning wildly about the area to find anyone in possession of the item.

Yeah, he’s dead…

There was no chance for the guard to recover, it wasn’t long until he met his grisly demise. Tripped, burned, stabbed, and choked, the racist bastard never stood a chance. Though he rightly probably wasn’t going to live much longer. All that came from the guard was his last words in form of gurgling as his blood bubbled from his lips, before the life fled his eyes and his body going limp.

The guards at the entrance fumble with a flint and steel, trying to light the barrels in a hurry, ”Damnit! Light damnit light!” His actions were fevered, especially with the approaching giant tiefling. One spark, and it goes out as quickly as it came.

Suddenly a large blob of water formed over the barrel the guard was trying to ignite. It hovered in the air for a second before falling down and thoroughly inundating the barrel and it's contents. The wizard slid to a stop and began to gather the energy for another blast of water but knew he wouldn't be fast enough. "Warrior kill him!" he says in abyssal.

An odd sense of relief filled Octavian as events unfolded. Even though a spray of odd colored blood from the barbarian heralded a tough hit he doubted that was enough to take down the ferocious creature. The guards also had not been able to light the barrels which gave the wizard enough time get off another spell. Blue light surrounded his hands as he once again conjured another blob of water.

Luca, beaten and battered from her earlier visit to the mine's master, wanted no trouble. The past several months had pounded her until she was nearly broken, and the last thing she wanted was to be caught in the middle of a fight. She flung herself at the tunnel wall and curled up as small as she could in one of the crannies she could fit into, her arms, hands, and legs shielding the rest of her body. She had planned on just hiding and not help anyone, but the sounds of the skirmish brought back memories, dark memories, of the siege of her clan-home.

Suddenly, she was back in Dovan-Dur watching as her father was cut down in the first month of the fighting. She saw the looks of wicked glee as her brothers' heads were hoisted high on cruel, barbed pikes. She felt the hot steaming blood of her mother splatter her face when her head was lopped from her shoulders. She felt the crushing despair as her once proud clan was paraded before the survivors of the rear-guard, and behind them, came those cruel pikes with the heads of dwarven men and women and children.

And infants.

Luca rolled out of her small hiding spot with a primal scream of anguish and terror. She writhed and thrashed, grinding stones and dust into the wounds of her still raw back and her badly bruised limbs as screams of denial ripped out of her throat.

"No! NO! NO! Stop! Please STOP!"

A couple of fire arrows planted themselves around the barrels with only a short whistle of a warning. It appeared the archers on the hastily built walls were trying to set the barrels off. Luckily the barrels were already ruined and wet and essentially inert for the time being.

The last guard fell to his back as the plant being tripped him once more. He grunted as he landed but he did not have enough time to respond as the plant thing was on top of him, attempting to strangle the life out of him.

Common Knowledge of Slave Outpost:
The outpost was not of the finest constructions, but it sat on top of a moderate hill with steep inclines leading up to it and a few short rocky cliffs. Some parts of the outpost had some restructuring as it was being made to be a more permanent settlement. The main gate(A) was wooden opened outward in a bi-fold fashion. The walls themselves were about four foot thick, with the ramparts being more of a scaffolding except for the one section(B) that had some rock foundation and the beginnings of the first tower of the outpost. The outpost had four primary buildings, one being where they kept the slaves, then an armory, barracks and what you think is the commanders quarters.

Looking at the outpost walls, you could easily see five archers taking aim at the soaked barrels once more.

Channeling another blob of water onto a barrel Octavian continues with his fire prevention methods. He stops a moment later as he sees the guards shooting the wet barrels and smothers a laugh at their idiocy. He stays behind an outcropping of rock and studies the fortifications uphill from their position. For the first time in years he contemplated the step after gaining their freedom.

"We have a couple of choices. Strip the guards and equip ourselves with their equipment first. Anyone who cannot see in the dark but has the ability to cast light move back away from the mine entrance so the archers will not be able to target you. Then whoever is still in shackles find the person who has the keys and unlock yourselves."

He darts across the entrance and grabs one of the two dry barrels and starts hauling it into the mine as fast as he can. "Warrior grab the other one, quickly!"

Jietin growls and darts from cover, grabbing the barrel and hauling it up onto his shoulder. He looks at the collection of slaves with him. Some, like the blue man, were quickly taking charge of the situation. Others were cowering in fear. Some were just reacting the best they could. Either way, they needed everybody if they were going to survive. At this point it was either escape or die. He thumps a fist against his chest and roars, gathering the attention of everybody nearby. "You have a choice! Fight to be free, or give up an die! I don't know about you, but if I'm going to die I'm going to be on my feet, fighting like a mad dog until I'm drug down! So cut out that whining and do something! We need everybody out of their chains, and we need the equipment from those guards, now!" He may not have been the most inspiring face present, but he was certainly a strong one. While he may seem ruthless and even a bit of an ass, it's hard to imagine somebody you'd rather be behind when the world is crumbling down around you.

Breewyn hears the shouting from the Tiefling savage and she feels a bit bolstered. She is still scared out of her wits, but she knew she still had to free others. She concentrates for a moment, speaking sylvan as she calls upon the stars to grant her vision in this dark cave.

Breewyn casts Light and a small pure white, slightly spiny sphere appears in her palm.

She holds up the new source of illumination, allowing her to see far better than she could just moments ago. "Who else still needs the keys?" She asks, her voice wavering only slightly, as she attempts to boldly call out to the others still needing aid.

The light that shined was dazzling to Tsakua's darkness-adjusted eyes. "Bring the keys here lass, ye've got two in chains yearnin' fer freedom!" Freedom...a chance to strike back...Tsakua grinned in the darkness. Glancing at the dwarf next to him, he chuckles "Looks like we've got a chance at life this time."

Luca blinks slowly, her senses slowly returning. These were not the mines of Dovan-Dur.

Vangeance, a voice whispered in her heart.

The young dwarven lass looked up at the half-orc, the visage bringing back memories of tales of Shatterstone's heroes holding out against hordes of orcs and goblins.

Vengeance, the voice whispered again, her voice, she realized.

"No, not life," the dwarf said, her voice soft and deadly, "my ancestors cry for vengeance."

Breewyn turns hearing calls from behind her, holding her little star above her head as she peers down the dark tunnel to see two shapes vaguely. She started to move towards them, trying to see them better as she approached.

Game Master

Another volley of fire arrows whistled through the air, plunking themselves where the barrels were. Octavian and the Jietin were able to move the volatile barrels away before they archers realized what was happening. There were shouts being issued as they appeared to prepare another volley to try and pick at anyone brave enough to step out into the line of sight.

The rain is getting stronger now as the skies darken just ever so slightly. Water begin to seep into the tunnels from the entrance, being downhill it was not surprising the rain water would travel in and begin to pool against the walls. The barrels within line of sight were now useless as the rain was hitting them.

Perception 20:
You can hear some shouting within the outpost, and see fires being lit.

Perception 25:
You can see some movement behind the walls where the timbers stood slightly apart. The gates to the outpost have been closed as well.

These INT checks are only for slaves who have been at this outpost for more then a month.

Hearing the dwarf's whispers caused a pause in Tsakua's sudden humor.

"Aye lass, vengeance it'll be for us all, if'n we're breathin' fresh air and drinkin' in sunlight after this," he spoke solemnly, seriously, all traces of humor gone. Looking up Tsakua saw a gnome approaching, finding her way through the dark, and a devil-may-care smile returned to his face.

"Oy, lass, by the time ye've freed us, the fun'll be over! The little lady and I here have some business to attend to with them as think they can keep us in chains!"
