Well the dragon is definitly hugely powerful, and quite intelligent. We might manage to escape, especially if our sorcerer can teleport us away. We could offer mr red some fun by fighting the ogres.

Also out of town. Enjoying a little VT "cabin" weekend with the wife.

I just landed a solid job that gives me near daily 7-3 hours. My posting will be non-existent during those hours, but I wills till be active after that.

I just realized I totally forgot to spend my share of the loot. Baldwin, would you allow me to retcon that or would you want me to wait until we return to town?

Ioun Stone, Dustry Rose Prism.
Upgrade existing defensive items like natural armor and ring of protection and cloak of resistance.
In that order. I haven't done the math for them yet.

FYI everyone: I will be away in sunny Curacao from Wednesday the 25th until Wednesday the 2nd. I will have my phone with me, but since I'll be on my honeymoon, I don't know just how much posting I'll be doing.

Croaker: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 13 - 2 = 12 for 1d10 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 4 = 12
Grung can barely contain his giggles as rats scurry through is legs

I'm going to DMPC Karnog for the next week since he will be offline. Note that I will be unable to post Thursday and Friday but I will be back posting on Saturday.

A quick overview on RA dungeon itself. This dungeon is massive it contains something like 48 levels/sublevel to explore. With the ultimate confrontation against Orcus should that goal ever be realized. That being said each level is designed to be generally small to midsized 1- to 20 rooms/encounter areas - many of which are hidden. There are usually 2-4 entrances/exits from a level and the characters don't necessarily know they have changed levels. I will try to provide some hints that a change is occurring which will be typically done by describing the terrain feature shifting like: "There is gradual incline leading into a series of caverns." or "The edge ends at a cliff but there is tunnel 15 feet below that can be reached."
You may be on an easy level then suddenly switch to a near overwhelming level, or visa versa: it happens. Running to live another day is an option.
I've previously mentioned but it bares repeating especially for those newer players that there are tons of traps and items that will screw (permanently) with character builds. Fail the save and that can suck.
RA also uses the rule of cool at times to trump the RAW. They do this with a few monster templates and some permanent spell effects that influence levels mostly to provide a permanent creepy feel or limitation to divination and transportation. I really don't foresee this as a big problem. I thought I'd mention it heading in, so everyone is on the same page.

Thanks for clarifying the swarm rules. It's one of my weaknesses in knowledge of Pathfinder. I'm at work right now and can't format text on my phone. Desmond will charge attack the swarm so he can apply his sneak attack, taking extra time to line up the charge if he needs to.

NP. I find the PFSRD website useful since it gathers FAQ and Rules decisions/erratas and places them in side bars. It's a huge time saver.

Back. Getting caught up now.
I apparently need to invest in a ring of climbing, or at least one of feather-fall

Woot! My Council of Thieves campaign has concluded after 26 months. We finished all 6 books and two of the players were with it the entire campaign. Granted it took one player three characters to get through. Two others were with it for over a year. Good feeling of accomplishment.
Now you all only have 47 and half more levels till you finish the dungeon! {insert whip cracking sound}

Nice!
How'd the last fight go?
When i ran it way back when, then pretty much one-shotted the baddies on the statue at the end.

The improved feint did wonders on the party rogue able to check him flat footed at that level. The puncturing rapier hurt the pcs. Everyone survived but they were worried at times.
