"Well f*!~ me. MONKEYS INCOMING!" warns Illuthion as he grabs he pommel of his sword. runes flash inside the flimsy sheath, and the halfbreed seems to be a little... faster?
Using a point of focus to use my Quickness. I am under the effects of Haste for the next 6 rounds.

He draws his Launching Crossbow as he moves into position.

I'm always messing up action economy so if I mess don't hesitate to correct me.
Al shouts out "The monkey people are weak against mind magic, and the monkeys can nauseate with their attacks!" He reaches into his handy haversack for a dose of sooth syrup.
He then moves slightly to the North.
So skill checks are swift, right? Retrieving something from a handy haversack a move? and a five foot step is permitted with a move that isn't a movement ... you know what I'm not sure if I take a five foot step to the north or not.

Sounds like a great idea!
Illuthion launches himself out of the pit, using his newfound speed to aid him. Stepping up in front of Blub, he casts a spell, and his blade glints a little more dangerously.
Moved 25 of the 50ft I am allowed to account for shenanigans with the height difference, although I am more than happy to change that if there are specific rules on how to get out of the pit. Casting Lead Blades on my weapon.

@Blub: I wrap the rounds once combats get out of surprise, but I've found that combining a surprise and regular round leads to too many retcons. It's already hard enough getting everyone to take half turns in the surprise round.
@Illuthion: I'm just treating the excavation pits as difficult terrain.

Any way Tsishad can fireball them without hitting allied forces? If so, that's what I want him to do.

Tsishad moves a little closer to the action.
Standard Action
He decides that several enemies warrant a large force to disrupt them. He decides to Fireball them. Should be able to catch all of them.
Fireball: 7d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 5, 3, 4, 6) = 22 - Fire damage, DC 19 Reflex for half
If he can't Fireball safely, he'll instead cast Haste on the whole party. (Looks like everyone is in range of each other to me)

@Tsishad: The archaeologists are mixed in with and right next to the monkeys, a fireball would either roast the people you came to help, or miss the invaders.

Periel morphs into a bestial creature, and Tsishad casts a spell to aid his allies. The monkeys rush toward you, trying to bash Illuthion with their clubs and throwing rocks at Kyra and Periel. The party escapes almost unharmed though.
Everybody is up. Illuthion needs to make a Fortitude save vs. nausea.

I just reread the haste description several times, If I read it right I don't get any extra actions, unless I make a full attack. So to if I'm going to drink the smooth syrup this is pretty much all I can do.

Kyira cuts the purple-clad charau-ka, while Aelfward drinks a thick, pink liquid. Blub Blub disperses the first swarm with an over-powering stench of burnt fur, catching Illuthion and two of the monkeys in the explosion. He then lobs two acid flasks at the other swarm, but misses and just splashes a little bit on his enemies. Periel slices open an artery on the black-clad charau-ka, and completely ignores the splashing acid. Tsishad conjures a rolling ball of napalm, but the monkeys manage to get out if its way.

Kyra cuts the purple-clad charau-ka in half. Aelfward manages to harm the swarming primates, but not very effectively. Blub Blub switches weapons, and buffs up the new crossbow. Periel finishes the fighter's work, dispersing the second swarm. Tsishad moves his ball of fire to the nearest monkey man, burning it to death, and casts a spell. Illuthion's first attack misses, but his second swing opens up the intestines of the yellow-clad charau-ka.
Two monkey men each attack Aelfward and Illution, but only one strike manages to connect.

Kyra's first strike takes down the yellow-clad charau-ka, and then she moves closer to her allies. Aelfward needs two swings, but he also downs an enemy. Blub Blub puts a bolt-sized hole right through the red-furred creature's heart, obviously having found an unprotected spot between ribs. The final monkey man takes one bolt like a warrior, but succumbs to the second strike.

"My f~*&ing pimp swag yo! What the s&%&?" laments the half-elf loudly, looking at his nobleman's outfit, now singed. With an expression that wants itself to be menacing, but is very unconvincing overall, he continues "Ain't cool man. first you think I'm a f*+%ing figment, now you bomb me. What'd I ever do to you yo" he continues, the Varisian accent thick as he gets angrier at the placid serenity of the Undine. "Whatever. Thanks for the healing. I guess. I'mma go... S*$@. We got agents down yo." Setting aside his pride, he steps up towards the remaining agents.

@Blub Blub: Expend only one charge on Illuthion, as that makes for a good in character apology. Kyra's channel will take care of the rest, though.
Kyra brings everyone back to full health, adventurers and archaeologists both. A moment later, Happ runs up with several hastily armed companions, "Ah, thank you! I see you've already defeated the vile monkeys, and healed our injured. We all appreciate the help. The least I can do is answer your questions."

Al checks over the bodies of the dead to see if he can find anything that might indicate why the charau-ka attacked now. Or, he thinks to himself, if they were carrying anything useful or interesting ... for the mission sake of course.
