Asterion puts himself in the right position, while Kesuraman tosses a bomb at the short-stacked enemy, that explodes right in his face.
Out from behind the pillars, a halfling comes out of hiding and tries to stab Zlata in the back.

Taelbin stalks up toward the dwarf, sidestepping outside of his reach just before darting back in. His eyes seem to have gone out of focus as he swings his dueling blade at the dwarf.

My apologies, I just remembered that I have to spend grit to make touch attacks at this range so I'm actually down to 1/5 and that attack should be at a -2.

Amelia hits the dwarf with her curved blade, cuts the dwarf across the cheek, strands of beard falling down. Behind her, a well-aimed shot takes down the elf.

Taelbin moves around and cuts down at the dwarf, and much to his own surprise, strikes a hit. Unfortunately for him, the hit is on the illusory double, that winks out of existence.

Bloody typical.. now I roll a 20

DM Kludde |

It's six against one for the dwarf: Zlata is the first to cut the dwarf, so is barely standing with a deep gash across his chest. Laetshi and Amelia both miss, so it all falls on Kesuraman, who decides that the only way to be sure is to throw a bomb from afar. When the smoke clears, the dwarf lies dead.
Combat over
After surviving the ambush, the PCs are able to leave the Shrine of the Failed and deliver Eylysia’s cache to the Grand Lodge. The crowd gathered around the Starstone Cathedral has disbanded, and many of the locals are still horrified following Sir Reinhart’s attempt to vault the chasm on horseback, which ended with a fall into oblivion.
At the Grand Lodge, Drangle is there in person to thank the investigators for recovering the package This is an important find, and you have done well in recovering it. I'm sure you have a bright future ahead of you in the Society. Expect new assignments soon!
A few days later, a message from none other than Ambrus Valsin arrives, explaining early results of the research on the papers. (See Handout)

Asterion - if you look back over the gameplay thread, you'll notice the many times I did not throw a bomb in order to avoid splash damage. I did it this time because I expected it to be my very last action in the scenario, and not likely to take down anyone in the party. My archetype gives me the Precise Bombs discovery at 2nd level, so I won't need to take a feat to avoid such situations in the future.
DMK - thanks as always for running a fun game!
