Sialea |
Sia, heedless of what Inle suggested, decided that this...machine had thrown down a metaphorical gauntlet. She approached it once more, tools in hand, and set to work, careful this time, and was determined to make it either stop, or function correctly again.

Sia bit back a curse once again as the wires zapped here when she touched two at once and shook her hand as she continued to work.

"Thank you for avenging us if we get blown up." the rabbit calls out over his shoulder.

As the machine whirred down into silence Sialea rose and gave a little victory dance as she crowed at their success. The dance made various things jiggle in enticing ways for those who were interested in such things before she began to scour the room for anything that might be helpful.

Sia looked at the display with the red light and realized quickly what it meant. "It looks like this is some kind of machine to clean what comes through here. It seems we have twenty0four hours before it turns on again. We'd best hurry."

After sliding an access card into the panel's slot, a small *beeping* sound is heard before the door recedes into the wall.
The hallway beyond is made of grey skymetal, with the walls being a darker shade than the floor. Pitch black support beams crisscross each other at ten foot intervals along the walls. Glowing golden rectangles in the ceiling provide more than enough illumination to see by.
The hallway leads to another set of circular doors with a panel of buttons next to it. The box sitting above the panel has a red stripe. The hallway continues to the right for about twenty feet before turning north again and widening to ten feet across. Two more sets of doors lie on the northern and northeastern end of the continued hallway.
New map!
Edynn |
Grinning at Sia's triumphant little dance, Edynn nods as she indicates the timeframe they had to work with. She watches closely, half expecting some other form of energy blast or robot attack.
Sialea |
As they entered the next room and looked around Sia nodded at Enle's question and went towards the control panel while riffling through the various key cards for one that would match the red stripe...

In a display of great bunny strength, Inlé takes hold of the door and roughly yanks it open.
The air in the room beyond seems to buzz and hum with energy. Strips of glowing rectangles light the room from above, while strange flickering windows line the east and west walls. A large glass-topped circular table sits in the middle of the room. To the north sits a large metal desk covered with blinking lights, while a humming pillar of purple-and-black metal stands nearby, its sides flashing with tendrils of violet energy. A single golden panel flashes with a soft but incessant light on the side of this pillar. A thick layer of dust coats everything, diffusing the lights shining from the various surfaces, and many of the machines seem to be damaged, cracked or otherwise ruined.

The room doesn't appear to be a 'sterilization room' like the one you just left. This place appears to be a control room of sorts. The glowing panel on the purple-and-black pillar looks important to this room's functions.
Inlé |
"Hmmm," Inlé lets out as he moves into the room, jumping up on the desk he stares at the pillar before turning to the others. "Do you think we should push the button?"
Edynn |
"The question is what is likely to happen when we do." Edynn says walking in and looking around.
Celen |
"If you are going to push that give us a bit of warning please."
He said simply running his hands along the strange windows in curiosity. In fact this entire room was one giant point of interest. He wished he had studied more of the technological things...not that he had a lot of free time at home to do so.
Inlé |
"Of course. Who pushes a strange button with absolutely no idea what it will do with others in the vicinity with no thought or warning?" Inlé honestly asks.

With everyone prepared Sialea stepped forward...and...pushed the button.
GM_Ironcat |
The panel slides into the pillar with a soft *click*.
Everything is silent for a moment, then the machines in the room begin to *whirrrrrrrr* and hum with renewed energy. A series of muffled buzzing and clicking sounds echo through the walls, and is immediately followed by a loud, angry-sounding *BUZZ*. Waffles yelps and hides under the glass table.
The left wall of the room starts *clicking* and *grinding* as it starts to ascend into the ceiling... revealing a large, glass window that makes up the entirety of the actual wall, providing a panoramic view of the desert beyond. The ceiling of the great dome flickers once... twice... three times before flaring to brilliant life.
The ceiling of the dome seems to transform from a dull, skymetal grey to the crimson of blood and sand. A bright, red sun hangs in the sky above the desert, and a sudden chill floods the room the party is standing in. Near the centre of the desert, several blue motes can be seen racing upwards to the ceiling-turned-sky... before abruptly vanishing.
A silence falls upon the room, punctuated by the occasional *beep* and *whirrr* from the machines surrounding the party.
Inlé |
Inlé slumps his shoulders and stares at Sialea. "I wanted to do that..." he mumbles.
Once the wall starts to grind he hops away to the other side of the room but once the window is revealed he rushes back up to it and pushes his face against the glass. "Cool!"
Once the motes appear and disappear along with the code he whistles and turns back to Sialea. "I think you just called down an artillery strike on some poor bastard."

Sia was startled at the results of pushing the button and almost didn't hear Inle's complaint. She knelt then as she watched the blue motes fly up into the sky and moved to hug him as she said, "Sorry Inle, I'll let you push the next button."
Celen |

He stood mesmerized at the sights out the glass window... until he saw the motes floating slowly up into the sky. He frowned leaned closer to the window .... frowned some more.
"enjoy your final rest."
He muttered to no one in particuly reaching up and grasping his holy symbol for a moment.
"I think those fluttering motes of light... well i think they were spirits finally heading to their last rest. . . What is this place?"
Sialea |
Sialea saw Celen's holy symbol and felt a shudder go through her, even if she couldn't understand why, and considered what he asked. After a moment or two she finally said, "From what I gathered from the maintenance robot I would guess that this was a part of the great starship that crashed, of course that much is obvious. More accurately part of this is a habitation module, I can only guess that means a city or town within the ancient ship, and part of it sounded like some kind of science laboratory or observation center and containment for experiments"
Inlé |
Inlé looked back and forth between the tall human but not quite humans talking before asking "Spirits? What kind of missile or laser is that? Do they do a lot of damage to whatever they hit?"
GM_Ironcat |
The party reluctantly tears their eyes from the impressive view and moves on.
Heading back to the hallway and continuing, the party reaches the two sets of double doors. The doors on the right have a box with a brown stripe next to them, but the doors ahead of them curiously has no such box.

"Something sounds grumpy through there." Inlé whispers to the others as he points to the doors across from them.
GM_Ironcat |
As Edynn steps closer to the northern doors, they open with a dull *whrrrr*.
A large metal table is surrounded by odd-looking chairs in the room beyond. To the west, what appears to be a transparent wall looks out over a strange desert valley--the same one the party traversed, in fact. Four pillars support the fifteen-foot-high ceiling, while dozens of crude images of a pickaxe made of a skull and bones have been painted onto the walls with some sort of ivory pigment along with several phrases in an unrecognizable language.
The source of the growling becomes readily apparent. Standing with its back to the door is a four-armed creature that resembles the kasatha skeletons encountered in the desert. This one still has its yellowed skin and muscles, but they're stretched heavily across its emaciated frame. A pair of razor-sharp, jagged short swords are clutched tightly in two of its hands, and a blood-red cape billows from its back as it turns to face the doors. Tattered black leggings hang loosely from its waist, and a pair of javelins hang from its back.
It opens its mouth in a vicious snarl, revealing yellowed teeth and pale red eyes.
